In this version Zack and and Seph are moving and fighting almost non-stop even when talking, making it feel like an honest duel. In CC its like 2 hits, pause, say something, throw a new hit, repeat.

There's a exact replica of this scene in Crisis Core (ff7 prequel for PSP), only without the blood (damn censorship), and Sephiroth is thrown by cloud into the reactor, not by himself.

Huh?!? Help me out here, he declares hes returning the planet from "the fools" to the hands of the Cetra here, but Genova was the ultimate enemy of the Cetra, and Sephiroth himself killed the last living member of the Cetra, Aerith. I'm slightly confused as to why he says that here then.

The answer is simple, Sephiroth was batshit insane. First he was all about the Centra, after discovering his origins, then he decided he wanted to crash a meteor in to the planet to "injure it". It only went downhill from there. In a way, he's just another sociopath.

And that's not really it either. Granted, he was insane. But he never actually discovered his true origins. Because of the dumbass scientists that wrote the journals that he was reading, he thought that Jenova was a Cetra. He wanted to crash meteor into the planet to injure it to neardeath. Then when the planet would try to heal itself with spirit energy AKA lifestream, he would be at the center of the wound absorbing all of the energy and in essence, merging with the planet.

To be fair, Genesis was degrading at the time, and therefore weakened, and Angeal wanted to die, so he probably didn't go all out. Its likely he used just enough power to make Zack think he was a threat. That said, I would like to point out that I am a Zack fan.

I'm not sure Cloud has mako poisned I think (makes your eyes become green and u become completly helpless for a unknown period of time ) than explains why he is so weak in the beginning but in CC he's exposed 2 mako poisoning after the fight with Sephiroth
