Well, I agree but if you wanna get technical, the Mecha are sort of animals. But yeah, I hope next year is completley animal themed. I heard ideas of an insect sentai being tossed around (which was initially planned for 2008) with a Red Beetle, Blue Dragonfly, Yellow Wasp, Pink Ladybug, and White Butterfly. That of course, was false, but that doesn't mean they can't do it for 2009. What would they call it? Konchuu Senta Bugranger? That name sucks.

Somehow I doubt they'll do insect themed sentai. The insect theme has always been Kamen Rider's thing, since Kamen Riders are usually beetles of some sort. Super Sentai tried using beetles in Hurricanger (Ninja Storm) when they had KuwaigaRaiger and KabutoRaiger, and they both looked alot like riders. Ironic that in Ninja Storm they both rode motorcycles, isn't it?

True, but it looks like Kamen Rider has been trying to depart from the Insect Motif. Excpetions: Kabuto. That and has anyone else noticed that Kiva has compund eyes on his mask?

Yeah I don't understand that, isn't Kiva bat themed, because of the whole vampire motif? Bats don't have compound eyes, at least I don't think they do... Maybe the kept they kept the compound to keep a classic look. I'm not sure, I never got into Kamen Rider as much as I did Super Sentai. Maybe because they only localized one season of it when I was kid, I didn't grow up with it like Power Rangers...

Lately most Sentai come with a catchy para para dance with their ending, but I don't think any of them have been this... "cute". I'm willing to bet they're going to make some toys of those chibi Gattai pretty soon
