  • I could not possibly support your view on safety and the anti-gun folks more. I love guns and they are fun and should stay that way. But they are not toys, and any little thing, no matter how small, is always turned on the firearms community by the paranoid, uneducated, anti-gun nuts.

  • wait why isnt it good to carry on half cock? if its not touching the firing pin and cant be shot pulling the trigger than whats wrong? can you please explain.

  • Why dose everyone have this need to always lower the hammer?!! Whether manually or by pulling the trigger? If the hammer is down the thumb safety can not be engaged and it makes racking the slide harder. Leave the gun cocked and locked IMO.

  • Pete, thanks for your videos. I like your honest and straightforward explanation about firearms. It doe not hurt to remind us all about firearm safety. Like you said these are not toys. I love my guns, but respect them even more.

  • You are absolutely right to preach safety. It is the responsibility of every firearm owner and user to put safety first. You make an excellent point about people getting too comfortable with their guns. They are beautiful, interesting and lots of fun but the are deadly serious too.

  • This is a yes!! Only a test of the

    Italian broadcasting system!

    Hey-hey!

Hope this fucking message goes thru!

    Sumbitch!

    H-Mv

  • i love the trailer park boys TV show series fuckin awesome

  • lol go watch nutn's videos.

Nice channel, I just watched several of your vids

  • Act-Mag came with my RIA 1911 and ordered 3 more to match. Also has a crowned barrel for less-than $450. Traded a .357 (new because I never fired it, and a pro model at that) for it, I did not notice at the shop but while working on the the gun last night, this sub-compact has a crowned barrel like some of this "High End" guns. GREAT SAFETY ADVICE!! MY WIFE IS A NURSE AND THIS GUY WAS WORKING ON HIS 1911 AND SHOT HIMSELF IN THE LEG!!! SEMPER FI.

  • Cool vid bro.

  • ...and DO NOT change grips too often!!!

  • I have a magazine that is identical to that one that came with my Rock Island Armory GI 1911, and they are in fact, manufactured in Italy by Mec-Gar. They are outstanding mags. Buy as many as you can. Super reliable.

  • Thank you so much man. I have learned so much from watching your videos. Keep up the hood work. It's appreciated.

  • Great Vid! Keep preaching the safety. We can never be too safe. You only get one time to be safe. That's the first time.

  • i like how you stress safety

    you are spot on

    great vid

  • make more bullshit vids. they are awesome

  • thanks dude

  • @mbenson2790 Shut the fuck up... You don't have shit uploaded and you are talking shit about a dude who puts out tons of useful and entertaining videos on something you probably only wish you could afford to own. Until you can top it, keep your dick licker closed. To the AC, thanks a lot for this video.. i'm about to purchase my first 1911 and this was useful.

  • i think you have plenty of nice guns AC keep up the work

  • thank you

  • Preach it Pete! Last saturday my good buddy who is always safe with his guns shot his self with his new PT1911 he was cleaning it with a full mag and some how hit the slide release and pulled the trigger. . . A Golden Saber hollow point went right throw his pinky finger and took it off... It cant be put back on........I know we all love guns guys but please please keep it safe. Thanks Pete for bringing this issue up bro...

  • Nice gun. I like black rubber grips too.

  • i just bought the same gun. it looks better with the new grips. im gonna find me a nice new set. thanks man

  • Thanks for doing this video. My Kimber manual says to dry fire, and my dad's Springfield manual says DO NOT dry fire.

  • I want a 1911

  • What do you think of the Para Ordinance 1911 vs Springfield 1911s?

  • seems like every time i watch your vids, i fondle my xd45.... is that good or bad?

  • This reminds me...the standard 1911 mil-spec hammer doesn't work for me. The spur on it chews up the web of my hand. Both my Springfield and my Colt chew my hands up.

BTW: Just got my shirt yesterday, Pete! It rucking focks (I'm cussing with a twist) man! Totally bad ass!!! Thanks!

  • Good vid, Pete. You want to see a GREAT 1911 mag, check out Wilson Combat. I have the 1911PD with the ACT mags...and the Wilson's are even better. Not cheap, though...$39.95 each...

  • Right on Pete.Pay attention Guys CHECK the FUCKING chamber For your sake and Everyone else too.(Atlantic City Police officer Kevin Wilkins) Google that Read the story.

  • Good video Pete! Thanks for the additional info on the sear! 5 Stars.

  • thanks i wasn't 100% sure.

    thanks for the great info.

  • awesome ..

    5stars...

    sweet 1911

any serious gun-collector ,got to have a 1911 in the collection

    myself included, hopefully soon too...

  • Never have liked the the way 1911s look but dat gun look Hard!!!

  • you live in pennsalvainya?

  • hey dad it works.

  • If you were manually lowering the hammer

but it slipped out of your finger could that

potentially fire the weapon? Newb question.

  • yes thats why i said i dont recomend it.

bit i do it cause its not a problem with me.

  • Oh alright, thanks. I thought it may be kind

of like using the decocker on a Sig where

    it's safe.

  • To: sungwei19: That depends on the gun. Some 1911's, the (later models), the Series 80 pistols have a firing pin safety which means it will not fire accidently unless the trigger is pulled all the way to the back. Without a firing pin safety, it could fire by being hit or dropped on the hammer.

  • great info thanks bud

  • Anytime Pete, always happy to help if I can.

  • Thanks man.

  • @sungwei9 You're welcome, glad to help.

  • Sweet grips! Like the idea of cutting the wrap good point! Mag looks cool too! Great info my friend! =) 5/5

  • Good words about the gun safety Pete. It never hurts to do reminders of this. Good on ya Pete for doing that.

  • thanks bud i realy fucked this vid up.lol

  • Your 1911 looks professional an Intimidating. Badass gun!

  • That looks 100% better man. I didn't like the wood grips.

I just like your videos man, some of my favourites aren't necessarily about guns all the way through.

  • Hey Pete,

here is what I came up with:

Grips and guns are like rims and cars :)

  • Hey Pete I'm thinking about getting a Springfield champion. did you trigger loosen up or does it steel feel stiff.

  • naa it good now its my everyday carry

  • looks much better with those new grips. I agree, the gun doesn't look like an antique anymore

  • Awesome vid & safety reminder.

  • you're definitely correct. i dont care what you make your videos about. i enjoy watching anything you upload.

  • Thanks for the info on decocking from the half cocked position. I never knew that.

  • Is that the champion with a alloy frame? I noticed there is a contrast between the frame and the other parts of the gun. Ive wanting to pick one of those up but they're hard to find. Great videos. 5*

  • yes it it and i love it. there pretty hard to come by.but you can order one

  • ACT-MAGs are made by a company called Novak.

  • I haven't figured out whether ACT-MAG is Novak or the other way around. I have a hunch that Novak has their name put on magazines made by ACT-MAG. I had a bad first impression of ACT-MAG. The first one I ever owned had less than 50 rounds through it and the left feed lip started to crack in the back. But the follower and floorplate are pretty good. I personally LOVE the Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Mags. But their pricey.

  • hey shit happens to everything sometimes. those mags are exellent.

  • much better! the wood grips look good but i prefer the rubber.

  • I 100% agree with everything you said. Its all fun, and games with some off these people out here. And you're absolutely correct about the anti-gun nuts. They will love to see someone do something stupid, and use it as an excuse to promote there agenda.

  • yup

  • Great vid, very informative. Sucks about that guy that shot himself. That's why they say you should always safety check a gun the moment you pick it up.

  • i have to disagree. I think the stock wood looks awsome.

  • Ay 1911 with rails? Is it worth it?

  • i prefer the look with the us wood grips, go figure eh? to each their own

  • Honestly im one of the people that likes the videos no matter what theyre on. Anyone can take a video of their guns ( and itll be boring as shit) but youre vids are entertaining cuz of the personality bro. Keep it up. Make vids everyday!

  • thanks kidi!!

  • Yo Pete did you see the video where there was a FBI guy or whatever showing a demo on guns in a class and shoots himself in the foot ? Just put in cop shoots foot in class or some shit in youtube and check it out. I agree on putting yourself in check every once in a while.

  • yea i seen that

  • Damn Pete if I saw this vid before I went to the cross roads show I woulda picked you up a few dude.. I got mine in stainless steel $20 bucks a pop man... cant beat that.

  • I like the act mag a lot, they look VERY similar to mec-gar but I kinda like the follower on the mec gar better cuz it sticks out more BUT the Act mag is steel..

  • Those mags are the best. I got one with the Rock Island 1911 that I bought; love them so much I bought a bunch more at a gunshow. They are 8 round mags also.

  • grips look great they do make the gun. yea i don't care what the video is about, just enjoy watching.

  • I love those grips Pete!

  • I'm so glad to be watching this video my computer has been messed up but now I'm using a laptop so i finally get too enjoy some armory channel videos!

  • shirt payment mailed out yesturday. good vid.

  • DAMN! Looks like a completely different 1911! Another great vid Pete! Yeah, I'm one of those that don't care what it is about, just like your videos in general.

  • My shirt payment is out my man.

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I'm still kinda leaning for the wood grips, although a 1911 looks badass anyway you dress it.

  • Great job on touching on gun safety!

  • One night about 10 years ago I came home after work and it was like 6:30am and it been a very long 36 hour shift.

I took my pistol out of my holster and dropped the clip and cleared the chamber. Then I cleaned it as normal and then oiled it.

My room mate was doing the same to his a few feet away since we both carried for our jobs. Well after I cleaned/lubed the gun I was doing function tests and forgot I put the clip back in.

Well I popped off a round in the living room into the floor.

  • @daddyoca69 I was stupid for cleaning it that tired and should have put it away till morning.

I was lucky the damage was contained to just the ringing in our ears lol...

  • Your not the only one. My friend did a backwards unload and then popped a round off in his room. His brain and yours wasn't total mush. At least both of you pointed the guns in a safe direction and no one was hurt.

  • I did not realize 1911s were that delicate.

Thank you for saying that dry firing a center fire damages the firing pin. I wish that myth would die.

I think the people that sit around and twirl their guns thinking they are cool are actually retards.

  • no it does not damage the fireing pin. a rim fire sometimes does depending on the design.

  • The easiest way to say it is, don't let the hammer lower to half cock in any way... that's where the danger comes into play... lowering to half cock or letting the hammer fall to half cock can damage the sear face.

  • ok that makes more sense.

    thanks Lima

  • man this is a goddamn 1911 lol.... go watch the rifleman channels video about this lol its a bigass tank 1911 not your fluffy pink handbag u keep loose change in lol dont worry about it breaking and if it does send it back to kimber i bet they would fix it for free anyways

  • The grips look good. The gun looks very similar to the 59 year old colt 1911 my dad just sent me. The wood grips looked good but the hard rubber grips look better.

  • Understand your point on wanting better carry grips.. But i still like the U.S. wood grips..

I'm a big mark for the stars and bars....

  • hey i actually really liked the us grips on that gun... until i saw it with the black grips, they are more practical and make the gun look fuckin awesome.

  • Good info.

    5*****

  • thanks bro

  • I just like the vids, Pete. I always learn stuff from your channel even when you just BS.

  • thanks kevin and yours also

  • oh i thought this was nutnfancy..oops my mistake. LOL. Nice video, i change my grips almost every month or so...changes the whole gun.

  • black on black looks nice on almost everything deff on guns i love all ur vids if u havent noticed lol lina has a new vid with a whole 1911 down taken abt this pete maybe u should check it out if u havent saw it u bot have grate 1911 vids

  • Just to punctuate what you are saying, it is NOT alright to always lower the hammer even from full cock. The trick to having it be 100% safe is to make sure that while lowering the hammer, the trigger must be ALL THE WAY to the rear the whole time. If not, what happens in particular is that it will drag across the nose of the sear. Once and a while and you won't hurt it, but if repeatedly done eventually it will wear down the nose of the sear from it scraping the top off. That's the details. 5*

  • well said bud

thanks for that info and your little kimbers looking awesome with those ivory grips.

  • good points gun safety is very important !!!!people need to be reminded allways good vid..

  • thanks my long time bud!!

  • any time!!

  • what about the hammer on a sig?

  • sigs have a dedicated de-cocker so you won't have to worry about it

  • Oh about the cop. Two out of three accidents that I've heard of involve a cop. The other night I saw a motherfucker on here. S&W 686 6" barrel magnum. He held the camera in his hand & turned the muzzle toaward the camera (and himself) then when he opened the chamber & ejected the ammo it was LOADED. Stupid cocksucker.

  • jeez what a fuck nut!!

  • @VinnyS914 Hey man can you give me a link to that video?

  • the 1911 looks mean now

  • thanks mike

  • Go to Limalifes page. She just made a vid to explain how the safeties wrk. She gutted a Springfield 1911 to show how the internal parts work. You'd be surprised how much you comprehend looking at it.

  • ya i seen that its great

  • Wow. That's a night and day difference. I might try that with my Smith & Wesson 1911.

  • Those grips do make the gun stand out...I wonder what they would look like on my Springfield Champion loaded in stainless?

  • nice video man

  • dont know much about them?

  • nice grips yea i thought about selling my factory tactical pro grips i dont like how they feel there sold out on alot of sites goin for $60 i could prolly get $50 out them on ebay, that is so very true about the gun safety u have to know there not toys they will destroy humans and other things great point pete

  • thanks bud

  • Looks way better now

  • damn thats a sexy looking pistol.

gives it a compleatly diffrent look...#

i want a shirt but would to London be a pain in the ass?

last time i hadent got my paycheck and i didnt have the moolah. but i do now

  • I like both grips, That new one is sharp though I agree. Tell them lazy bitchs to send in their payments. lol

  • great look can i have your old ones for my new 1911... i realy want the u.s.grips on mine... but cant find just the grips... also im getting custom made gadsden snake grips made

  • pm me and ill give you a good price

  • The mec-gar mags have similar followers... You might also mention that people need to be REEEALLY careful if they decide to manually lower a hammer on a _loaded chamber._ It should go without saying but with all the casual press checking and one-handed decocking that's going on lately I thought I'd mention it.

If you lower on a loaded chamber for some reason, get a damn good grip on the hammer, and release the trigger as soon as it breaks. Then lower carefully. Or better yet don't do it. :)

  • well thats condtion 2 and i carry that way.

    just got to be careful

  • Is it possable to swap a 1911's grip safty? Because the one on my old Colt is just painfully small and I want to swap it for my Taurus' larger grip safty. OH P.S., love the new grips, They are just the shit on that 1911!!!!

  • i think you can get an extended thumb saftey for it

  • Great look for your 1911. I never get tired of hearing about safety.Thanks.

  • B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L 1911. It looks great with those grips on. Stealthy.

FYI, I mailed my payment out yesterday. Should be there soon.

  • it looks great Pete

  • Look's great Pete.All great points.5*s

  • thanks bill

  • on my old colt ww2 1911 it is impossible to lower the hammer from half cock.. you can pull the trigger all day nothing will happen u have to pull it back all the way

  • well thats just it some people try and put stress on the sear

  • ★★★★★

  • great looking gun, i agree much better looking with the new grip!

  • @ Pete good points as usual !!!! Love the look now much better !!!!

  • The grips look great, nice carry piece. Thanks for the update.

  • I'm picking up my very first 1911 tomorrow. This is just great info!! Thank you.

  • yea theredn3ckchannel needs to practice safet better..lmao....sweet grips pete. 5+ as always

  • @TheRedn3ckChannel ya you got that right don't destroy the camera !!!! LOL !!!!

  • i love that camera too..lol

  • ACT mags are pretty good. If you do a google shop search you will several companies that sell them. I think the price is around 25 before shipping. I ran into them while trying to find mags for my sig 220. ACT makes them for half the price and are almost as good.

  • Good info.

  • looks good Pete, i agree rubber grips on a carry piece is nice.

  • great gun looks great pete keep up the great work

  • thanx you pete!!!!!!!!
