Dude the onlly problem with these vsts is that as soon as you start to make complex chords in your arrangements, no matter how powerful or memory your pc has, it will start to freeze. Same problem if you load like many say 5 intances of such vsts, your daw starts to slow down . TO be brief, so heavy and discouraging to make professional complex music compositions. I don't know if you have same problem, however there are a few vst which are quite light, still with high quality sound, not many.

this software is very good! Tenhoutilizado some sounds from it in several songs, but what is bad in him that he and very bad optimized! Etam and very heavy and requires large amounts of computer CPU, and has other software as good as it much lighter.

V-Station is really powerful professional VSTi. This amasing soft can create a fantastic fatty, poly, sync leads, excelent pads and soundscapes! Just have a BRAIN in your head and hands of musician and you did it! Real Virus TI sounds very poor, demos on its website is a ***t. Nice video, dude!

The most important thing is the Z3ta and Adam Van Baker soundbank , Lead Classic Virus C sound. It really has nothing to do with the V-Station!

As long as Z3ta is used and mixed with any other trance based Vsti then you can achieve this creamy arp..and I agree with NITEOWLSAM I have never heard any demo of the TI make these sounds even though I am sure it can. Have you heard the demos on the virus site?? shocking!

i am fan of softsynths too, but this virus sound is unique.. i searched a good viruslike softsynth for a long time.. i did not found any plugin with this special sound so i finally bought a virus ti :D

by the way: the reason is not software or hardware.. (virus is software actually)

however, there is one difference: the dsp units in a hardware synth are calculating more precisely than a cpu..

It's not the power of the synth that makes the virus stand out, most of the top (sylenth, z3ta) softsynths ARE near enough up there in terms of "power". It's the whole timbre of it, quality of every part (from the oscs right down to the effects) and features.

With softsynths you might get say for example good sounding oscs but they tend to lose quality in say the filters or effects and vice versa. Every part of the virus is top quality and thats what makes it a good synth.

@lavakava Like I said the virus isn't much stronger as any other softsynth (I actually bought a TI since). What's good about it is the quality and depth of the synth and effects.

The way to think about it is not as you only need one sound and you're done but as one good layer along with your softsynths.

tbh for supersaw type leads the virus isn't that good just for that but if you're looking for more special/complex sounds that hold their own weight then that's what the virus is best at

I don't own a a TI but I own the poco virus, I can tell you that a few vsti's out there are probably just as good in terms of the "bigness" of the sound. But in terms of the sound character and features the virus shits on native soft synths from a great height.

In terms of character virus sounds smooth, dark and silky where every softsynth I've heard seems to sound shredded and digital.

for z3ta, whenever i exit out of the z3ta plugin, it won't play any more, is that normal, or does anyone know how to fix that? when i exit on the fruity wrapper on other vst plugins it doesn't do that... so it doesn't seem it should... i also can't expot z3ta, anyone know??

you have to remember that many software synthesisers are good for specific sounds. In my opinion most trancy is V-Station, NEXUS has specific creative powerfull sounds but without chance for editing. Genesis has big sound, but weak effects and use a lot of CPU.

first of all, i wasn't comparing nexus with v station, what made you think that? of course nexus has more options than v station, but still, nexus is too overbearing on cpu.. and also, it's better to make your own sounds than to just grab one from nexus, or from whatever plugin. just my opinion bro. and either way, i would use something like sylenth1, vanguard, hypersonic 2, omnisphere, z3ta, massive, fm8, predator, or albino 3, among others. why do you think nexus is so much better than these?

I have both z3ta a with Virus Ti expansion. And a Virus Ti. And let me tell you the virus not only sounds better, but also has better effects, better filters and is really inspiring to use. Although I would have to say that z3ta is one of the best sounding Vst's I've come accross, It's still no Virus.
