@ChildOfTheWilderness Jim Henson was actually in talks with Disney about selling the Muppet brand to them shortly before he died, and then after his death nothing much happened and his family kept the rights. I've heard it said somewhere that he knew the Muppets would live on if they were a part of the Disney company, and that's what's happened, who knows what they'd be doing if they'd never been sold to Disney, we'd probably not be seeing any big movies from them, and that's a sad thought!
@ChildOfTheWilderness The Henson company has always about new ideas and pressing artistic boundaries. Riding one franchise off into the sunset was never in their business model.
