  • More Yngwie licks please ! You are a great teacher

  • either you have really small hands or that guitar is massive.

  • 1:07 - 1:15 why do I have to hold my index finger up higher on the strings when its just one fret at a time? Have I been playing guitar wrong this whole time?

  • Great lesson!!! ... but it would be better if you use a guitar with dot inlay to make easier to us to see where is the finger position. any way thanks for lesson ... ^_^. Subscribed to this Great channel!!!

  • what's it sound like if you play it at speed?........ :P just kidding, Benni! that was awesome, mate!!

  • you love a minor key ehh bennie

  • Omg... Just give us the damn tabs, it's way easier...!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

Dont learn as much that way buddy!

  • @benwilshire Well, you know, when I see a tablature or a music score, I kinda happen to know which fret I have to press on without needing someone to tell me... the ''video'' way is just way longer as I can't really visualize the whole lick and I have to click on pause every time I play one part of it.

  • @benwilshire your a fucktard, you can learn a shit ton from tabs.... and all your rock god founders learned by taking their LP's and slowing the speed on their record tables down and listening and picking out each note. thats how my dad learned, thats how i learned. and it works. you can play scales all you want but if you dont play with feeling your just some guy who can play some fast scales. and benni, that is why you are not a god like hendrix

  • @benwilshire record yourself playing all of echoes with your guitar and i will be impressed

  • @benwilshire your now on 4chan IN THE /B YA DOUCHE BAG

  • That headstock is hideous.

  • @TallMikeBismuth nah not really..reverse telecaster head looks quite nice to me m8

  • was that guitar given by rob chappers or did you bought it!? Ty love your channel!

  • nice stuff ,,, great feel

  • Good teacher. I got this all quick.

  • Is the guitar scalloped in the last 10 frets?

  • too.........much........inspiration.........

  • Hey mate, hello mate, cheerio mate, all the Brits call each uthah mate mate!

  • yeah chapman guitars rule :D

  • is it just me or does this guy look like Marty Friedman

  • Nice technique!

  • Have you change the pickups on your guitar ?

    i will maby buy one

  • I learned this over about 4 hours of trying. not as fast as you yet though lol still gettin there. good lesson.

    Benni

  • NicE!!!

  • hey mate im new to the yngwie stuff ive been playing bout a year in a half whats some good starter yngwie stuff to learn?

  • @slipknotandmh

    hello mate

I have another yngwie lick lesson that you might find useful. Its not too difficult but sounds good. Try learning as many licks as you can but start slow. its better to be slow and clean for a while than fast and sloppy.

Check out that other lesson and my picking technique lesson. That should help you on your way:)

    Ben

  • If any of you guys are having trouble with this lick, one thing i done that really helped was play the first note on the e string with an up stroke and hit the second note on the b with a down, so instead of down,up,down,up. you would be playing up,down,up,down etc. Just a tip if you are having trouble like i did. Starting with and up just seems much more natural.

  • awsome lesson mate =]

  • great lesson thankyou

  • Hey Ben, awesome lessons! I've been getting into Yngwie alot lately and they have really helped. When you started playing neo-classical, are there any songs that helped you really progress? Thanks :) Keep Shredding

  • @N1k0zj

    hello mate

Good to see some new malmsteen fans out there. I think far beyond the sun was a brilliant song to work on for neoclassical because theres so much in it. Theres sweep sections, fast run sections and many other different things. It is an epic song though and takes so long to learn but is well worth it.

    thanks mate

    Ben

  • @benwilshire Thanks for the reply! I'll get right to learning it. :)

  • dude your tags are strrraaaanngge... su bo? marshall stacks for the win? :p

  • 5 Stars

  • Hey ben have you ever tried Jazz 3 picks, and if so, do you have any thoughts on them? I got one recently, and i seem to be playing a lot cleaner with it than my standard big pick.

  • @superlou1s

    hello mate

Yeah back in the day about 3 or 4 years ago i used those and those tiny little stuby picks but grew out of them. Once you start playing with those playing with a big normal sized pick is really strange feeling and difficult so your sort of limited with your playing if one of those picks is available. Loads of people use them though but i idnt like the limitations. 1.5mm dunlop standards are my favoirite now.

    Thanks mate:)

    Ben

  • old school M awesome ben \MM/

  • i love malmsteen lick videos.. my fave of yours <3

    thanks for this mate

  • I like how you teach but this stuff is too hard for me! LOL! I'm still struggling on some other exercise you showed us! mad skills though.

  • @sportsportsport just play it as fast as you can while still playing it clean to a metronome. then increase the speed by 2-5 bpm and get it clean. if you keep messing up slow it down a little and do it again

  • @rickyjshiznit I don't use a metronome. A drum machine if anything. Guthrie ;)

  • @sportsportsport meh anything will work. i like to keep it simple

  • @rickyjshiznit Yeah same, although I don't know malmsteen shredding is my bag! Although I'd love to be able to pull it off like Ben does. ;)
