  • Niger)))))

  • Thats what you get for having 61 kids per family.

  • Fact: Hausa-fulani and Yoruba oligarchs ruled & mismanaged Nigeria for over 40 yrs, looted over $400 billion dollars from resources of Niger Delta Eastern Region Biafra & Mid-Western nationalities, rigged all elections, refused a Sovereign National Conference, subverted justice, promoted criminality of sorts across the geospace Nigeria and abused "Nigerians". The problem of the Niger delta is not a development problem; It is a JUSTICE problem. The peoples need and demand their FREEDOM back

  • Fall back, relax and watch

    Les Igbos maintiennent votre neutralite

  • It is really Heart-breaking to hear about the plight people having blessed with natural

resources, but Nigeria is deprived of basic necessities..\

    nasir

  • the way umaru yar adua died amiserable death due to wickedness,i actuall believe others will follow same track.Josh this the most painful thing i have watched all my life.God bless you aljazeera new for this

  • For the same reasons of cultural, linguistic, religious and political incompatibilities were 22 new nations created in Europe and the beyong the caucausus since 1990. Why can't those same principles of self-determination apply to African countries that have riled in the agonising pain of domestic friction and tragic outcomes of domestic political implosions and their myriad post strains.

  • Nigeria is a cursed land. Now they have started looting banks. Our cheif bankers are fleeing now with billions abroad.

  • Africa's current countries are all colonial creations to satisfy the territorial expansion and economic voracity of the imperialists. Africa must be recreated to enable the ethnic nations and peoples form new workable and homogeneous political unions. The application of the enshrined United Nations Right of Self-determination will free Africa from the grip of retrogression. Out of 15 failed states in the world, published by 'Fund For Peace,' 10 were African nations and Nigeria was the 15th.

  • ALL the whites? are you stupid, ignorant or just plain retarded?

  • When i was young Africa (Nigeria) was poor Africa will be poor for eternity, just the way it is,internal and external forces make this continent a breeding ground for corruption....SAD !

  • Now don't we wish that were true that only whites were getting rich; but if it's true then I'll be rolling in dough soon enough and will still disprove your theory. I saw some photos/videos of the fancy mansions of the Nigerian elite and they aren't white. I'm waiting to see if the people will benefit from the $15.5 million they just got or will it disappear due to inside mismanagemnt.

  • all this happen due to Bad leaders in their region because of their personal intrest

  • AlJazeeraEnglish:

i love you! you post the best videos.

its about time we take back what is purs and take it from the greedy hands of the politicians and the white man.

shell and chevron cannot clean up their mess and leaving thousands hungry.

even NEPA cannot keep their lights on for 24 hours. sometimes my people back home can go up to 2 and half weeks without seeing any electricity.

    sigh...

  • what are you going to do about it?

  • WAR IN NIGER DELTA: JTF Sacks Okerenkoko Community. By Joe Nwankwo,Chesa Chesa, Sule Lazarus,Otei Oham (Abuja), Tunke-Aye Bisina (Asaba) and Harris-Okon Emmanuel(Warri), Daily Independent 20/05/09

"[Troops on Tuesday intensified their offensive against Okerenkoko, another community in Delta State, razing down all buildings in the all-out confrontation against militants intent on making life impossible in the Deep South.]"

  • "[Community leaders said over 200 homes in Okerenkoko, the second largest settlement after Oporoza in Gbaramatu Kingdom, were left desolate by the Joint Task Force (JTF).]"

  • "The Ijaws are not surprised about the incident, because the name, Nigeria, exists notoriously by intimidating, victimising, marginalising and killing her citizens" - - - Arogbo Ijaw Youth Network (AIYN) Press statement condemning Nigeria's military action on Ijaw communities in the guise of searching for militants in the areas, Daily Independent, 22 May 2009

  • coons will be coons.

  • HOUSE: ...and sand niggers will be sand niggers!!

  • What a perfect way of keeping foolish peopl busy. Divid and rule, divid and rule. The rule of the game is to divid and rule. The imperialists have used this tactice for centuries and it has always work. From the days of our father, to us and surely to our children. Divid and rule is the name of the game. When will these Africans learn that the ultimate beneficiary is non of them?

  • Look, ActionGroupA, please be quiet if you have nothing to say. Did the imperialist commit genocide against Biafrans for 62 years? Did the Imperialists put a gun to the head of Nigerian rulers to rig elections and census for 48 years? Did they squander $400 billion dollars, abuse the peoples human rights and plunge them into abject poverty? Stop your senseless argument. Why do you seek to disguise your support, indifference or nonchalance towards Nigeria's myriad evils? The elephant in the room.

  • All you "Biafrans" need to realize that it is not "Nigerians" alone who are rigging elections and stealing money, your fellow "Biafrans" are doing just the same, and so the sooner you realize that it is "Nigerians" and "Biafrans" responsible for this, and that there really isn't a Biafra, the sooner we can move forward in solving the problem. The least corrupt region of Nigeria is the Southwest, and isn't it funny how the Niger Delta has the oil and yet the Igbos are the ones screaming Biafra?

  • "..for centuries, the Niger Delta was literally a backwater of small subsistence communities, but since the discovery of petroleum, the people's environment has been polluted and rendered useless. Consequently.. poverty increased and with it, anger..as soon as the people became angry, they were branded as 'terrorists,' as 'obstacles in the way of prosperity.' And so, they were hunted down." - Former Ghanaian President, Jerry Rawlings in Portharcourt. Guardian Newspapers Tuesday October 14, 2008.

  • Normally I would cringe at people blaming "employers" for failing to make them well off, but these companies ruined their ecosystem, and ruined their historical self-support system, fishing...now that we have an American president of African descent, it is time to treat Africa like a normal continent worthy of normal human rights. End the colonialism. I've worked with so many smart Nigerians...treating them like colonial plebes is a crime against humanity.

  • Nigeria: Abia CP Backs Destruction of Abala , Emmanuel Ugwu , THISDAY, 27 January 2009

"[Abia State Police Command yesterday admitted that many houses were burnt in Abala community in Obingwa Local Government Area, saying that crime-infested communities like Abala do not deserve to exist. ]"

  • my heart bleeds for nigeria. my childhood memory is all nigera, but yet i despise her!

  • "Now this geographical expression, the term Nigeria, represents the highest collection of blacks in the world. And because this enclave has not been able to find its feet and provide leadership for the black, both in the Diaspora and in Africa, the black man is backward economically, technologically and socially." --- Asari Dokubo. Daily Sun. Tuesday January 13, 2009.

  • Great point, so by dividing and sepearting, can/will great change come?

  • Calexculux, you bet, the much deserved development in Africa shall surely come. There will be a healthy competition among component groups or nations and equally a cordial relationship to promote general continental welfare and interests. Human and peoples' rights shall be upheld and respected. Right now, you all know those who constitute the obstacle both to themselves and Africa.

  • I agree their is corruption,unemployment..but if this westerners and news casters want to solve our problems, why not stop4:13 oil exploration and stop buying from nigerian governments? this is all stories and no truth.

  • HYPROCRITE news caster why not solve ur country problems before coming to others.

Idiots they have poor and corruption but they hide it. if it was smelling why wait in the stinks? If the government are corrupt, where do they spend the money? where do they mspoend it? well in this news caster country.

Liers, they increase a problem and make it big, if the ppl are unemployed(all) how do they survive?

  • the female reporter in this is shit

  • methane created by huge trash and dumps even doodoo created by hundred and fifty million people will generate electricity for millions of business and millions of families in nigeria.

  • "I am not a Nigerian and God never created me a Nigerian, so if Nigeria is tensed up that is the business of Nigeria. I am an Ijaw man. That is where God created me. Ijaw nation was forcefully taken over by the British which eventually lumped it into an entity called Nigeria."

(Asari Dokubo, Nigerian Tribune, August 17 2008.)

  • 7 new Biafran groups emerge

•Drag FG to court, seek self--determination

By Vincent Ukpong Kalu, Daily Sun, August 30, 2008

"[Apostle Kalada Jene, a businessman from Bonny, Rivers State representing other members of groups and people known as Natural Biafra has dragged the federal government and five others before the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking among other things self determination.]"

  • "The conquest to the sea is now in sight. When our god-sent Ahmadu Bello said some years ago that our conquest will reach the sea shores of Nigeria, some idiots in the South were doubting its possibilities. Today have we not reached the sea? Lagos is reached. It remains Port-Harcourt. It must be conquered and taken.." (Mallam Bala Garuba. West African Pilot Newspapers, December 30, 1964)

  • The government is too corrupt to protect its people. To share the wealth. To care. How tragic.

  • Really its europeans and arabs

  • How is that LionofZion? Please tell me more.

  • hey man. im naked!! T

  • The president should give good leaving to their people by now, improve the police or army, standard living such as water, electric and housing. Then proper education ,hospital by year to year. People will trust the country effort.

  • The exiting British colonialists rigged the hausa/fulani Islamic jihadists into power, gave them the military since 1960 and they have ever subjugated the rest of the Nigerian peoples for 47 years. Federal government means hausa/fulani owned central government that has, for 47 years, denied the people democracy and humanrights in plot of Islamic religious conquest or at least subjugation. Development is a mirage because the government is hijacked. Some of these oppressed people are in denial.

  • NIGERIA IS A FUCKING COUNTY!!!

  • I have an idea. If many young people are sitting around with nothing to do while their environment is covered with rubbish that stinks to high heaven, why not clean up the mess to stop the potential spread of disease? Who threw the trash there? Why don't they clean it up and do something productive? Maybe the people have to start taking pride in themselves, their country, and their environment before they throw out the corrupt government officials and oil company vultures.

  • Man, please. Don't tell me you actually believe that the nigerian people should clean up after the foreign oil companies mess, you've got to be kidding me man. seriously get over yourself. If did clean upall that crash where should they put it? Don't you think the placing it where all the poluted water is is appropriet since it's not going to be used.Think before you speak please, it's very difficult for these people and IT IS the govt's fault, don't tell me it's their fault.

  • Akimehari64: You've got to be kidding! According to your mind-set, we should NEVER pick up litter that someone else left on the ground or in the water, even if it becomes a public health hazard. It's wiser just to let the garbage accumulate near our homes so that it attracts vermin and our children become ill; besides, we have better things to do, such as idly stand around and mindlessly complain about the filth in front of our own homes. (cont)

  • Akimehari64: (cont) I urge those people to clean up that trash themselves (as much as possible), burn it, and bury whatever remains. This doesnt take rocket science to figure out. We do this many times in our own country. Just do something constructive because standing around and complaining will get you nowhere. No wonder Nigeria is a third-world country!

  • plz there is no big diffence between nigeria and niger both poor both choatic both have corrupt leaders and both nations have citizens that are too subservient

  • Niger is not Nigaria, please know the diffrence before posting. This is Nigaria, NOT Niger.

  • you are a Fool.

  • The Niger delta is under bondage!!!

  • Corporate governments do not care about these people's health and economics. Crimes against humanity should be brought against oil companies as well as goverments who ignore the plight of their people!

  • Heartbreaking!

The music & people of Nigeria are the most beautiful in the world

If the US was so benevolent, why aren't they demanding better conditions in African oil nations?

Seems like a better world policy than spending 2 trillion US tax payer dollars blowing up the Middle East

Perhaps it is for that reason American news coverage neglects this very issue

  • The Nigerian government is propped up by the Chevron Oil Company. Don't expect our government to interfere with oil company profits.

  • It reminds me of growing up in the rural Appalachians

Even how in Eastern Kentucky, 60% of the people do not have running water

    Now I live in Manhattan
