@philosophy75 Yeah if you watch her pre-debut practise videos you'll notice that she wasn't so nervous and her voice wasn't shaky at all, she was amazing :) also her swollen lymph nodes damage her vocal a bit, made more husky..

the thing with bommie's voice is not how high she reaches, or how perfect she sings, it's the colour of her voice, with that I mean, it's the sound itself. for me; i don't care about the whole C's and F's at all, I prefer a beautiful voice singing more than someone that's reaching super high notes but only does that much. Bom has no need to reach high, as her voice is perfect as it is.

@thunderlovelightning unstable - meaning shaky or not firm. actually that's her flaw in singing. i mean bom has one of the most unique voices out there but when shes singing her voice is noticably quite shaky probably due to nervousness or maybe lack of breath..not so sure what it is. only f she could only maintain voice stability she'd be a much much more amazing singer.

It's not about the range...what's special about her voice is the timbre, the colour of the voice. Her voice is distinctive and unique, it's full of emotion, soul and power. It all depends on personal taste but for me I prefer a singer that gives me goosebumps like Bom does than a singer that tries to sound perfect all the time.

Bom's voice is all right. But the thing I don't like about it is that it's too nasal when she tries to reach high notes and her voice does not resonate well.

Like a previous commenter said. It sounds like she is just "belting" out her high notes.

I am a huge 2ne1 fan but that doesn't mean I am blind or deaf. The person who uploaded this video has opinions, which are quite reasonable imo. When someone says that Bom has a good voice but lacks of technique that doesn't mean they are haters, they are just people who use ther minds and express their point of view. The only major difference...Their tones are a bit....Generic?(Not sure what other word to use) No one is really putting effort into listening to them either. So their vocals are great but they don't have the support like say BEG does.Which are not as good as The Grace but have more Flare in their vocals and stage presence.

Honestly, I love Park Bom as hell, but I'm not blind to not see her flaws. I'm no expert in music and singing, so I can't comment on her technique. But just from a person who listens to music, I feel like sometimes she's straining her voice. Won't it damage her voice & vocal cords? Have you listened to her predebut performances? I think she used to have a more powerful voice or is it because the key register is her comfortable range in those songs? Would you mind giving me ur opinion I'm curious

@GDSRNyongTory Basically in those performances she was singing in a comfortable range. Not overdoing it. Now she is singing in a range which she does not have the technique to use properly. There is some slight wear in her voice. Also I'm not sure what they did to her face but I believe her plastic surgery may have affected her singing.

Bom has only been doing onstage performances for a few years (2ne1 wise). Compared to Beyonce, Bom has a long way to go, but you can't say she's a bad singer because quite frankly her voice is extremely unique. And if you heard their latest song, "UGLY" she holds her notes quite solidly.
