  • Have you ever been to the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA? It is by far the most beautiful theater I have ever been in.

  • Andrew is not worth the shit from my arse! fucking talentless bastard! Autism hater!

  • Hey Jesse glad to see you also survived the stairs. Break a leg. Jen Ewer

  • There's the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (which is now called the David A. Straz Center), which the tour of Mary Poppins stopped at.

  • The Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto...sososo beautiful. :]

  • you should see the majestic theatre in san antonio!

  • Hello, #UN# how is going ? Fine video btw

  • Can't wait to see y'all at the Fabulous Fox in Atlanta!

  • I adore the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Nothin' like it in the whole wide world. :-) (I'll tell you a secret, it's actually my favorite spot in the whole city! In the summer, if you sit at the turtle pond, you can sometimes hear the actors rehearsing, and that's a real treat!)

  • THE FOX IN ATLANTA!! cant wait till the show gets here! =]

  • the orpheum in memphis :]

  • Why don't you just pretend it's all quick change and do it backstage.

    No more climbing.

  • Thanks, Andrew, for reminding me of how lucky I am to have such a great theatre in my town! Saw the show when it played the FOX last month, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • i like ashley brown as mary but she never replies to her fanletters which i don't understand :)

  • why don't you give us a tour of the MP set and the Banks family house plus backstage? we would love that and how about teaching Ashley's dance steps for Step in Time?

when is Ashley's album coming out? it is not on sale yet?

  • We have a Fabulous Fox, in Atlanta :]

  • Hands down the best theater I've been in is the Kennedy Center. Its so big, and just truly lovely!

  • There's a little old opera house in my town. TINY little town in upstate NY, but this theatre is so amazing. It's called Hubbard Hall and not only is it amazingly beautiful, but for the size of the town, and the tight budget they are on, the shows that they put on there are absolutely fantastic. I'm proud to have it in my town, and it will always hold a special place in my heart!!

  • ANDREW! Loved it....lol

Coming to see ya in cinci on the 8th...just heard word!!! :)

  • Yesss! That is the coolest backstage of any theatre ever! I pretty much love the Pantages in Hollywood. I mean, everybody loves that theatre, but I think the location and the interior design just create this amazing energy! I've never been there when you couldn't feel these amazing vibrations just coming from everybody there. Cool place!

  • I'm pretty in love with the Belfast Waterfront Hall. Mainly for the design of its atrium and house--nothing special about the backstage.

What part do you play in the show?

  • the UNICORNS!!

  • the tampa theatre... yeah... beautiful

  • what show were you in? looks awesome

  • the landmark theatre in richmond, va. it used to be a mosque but they renovated it to become a theater. it has really neat mosaic paintings

  • RICH history INDEED.

  • Haha great vid. The renovated Hippodrome in Baltimore is reallly breathtaking..i think you were there during the "Grinch" last year. A very special theatre.

  • omg elevators r the easy way and there's no way that being a broadway actor is easy. and anyway it's a pretty kick ass work out good luck w the rest of the tour -alice

  • Dan Fogler! Aaron Tveit! Ahaha. ELEVATOR? NO. You're too awesome for elevators. XD

  • I have always loooooooved the Boston Opera House! It was my first theatre I ever saw a show in. Have you ever been or played there?

  • Definately Academy of Music in Philly- it's a shame Poppins won't be playing there- but it's pretty fierce inside.

  • I live in St. Louis and have been backstage of our lovely theatre more times than I can count. I understand your steps-induced pain.

And yes, I've been all over the country with theatres and it's hard to find one more gorgeous and historical than the one in my own backyard. I hope you've enjoyed playing here!

  • Climbing thoses stairs will really keep your glutes nice!!! Thanks for sharing the wonderful theatre!

  • I went to see "The Prodcuers" on Broadway in January of 2007 and the St. James was beautiful!

  • OMG, andrew!

  • How epic has it been to have been and performed in a theatre with such history and has housed so many stellar performers?! PS - Gavin = ftw.

I second the Lyric in Chicago.

  • The colonial theatre in boston is beautiful!

  • The Lyric Opera in Chicago, beautiful in every way.

  • The Metropolitan Opera House in Nyc..i love it there it's so beautiful

  • ahhhh thats where i live!!! loves it. i've always wanted to see back stage and all that. it truely is a beautiful place :0)

  • Aww I wanna see MARY POPPINS!

  • 5 stars! I'm totally gonna come see the show now!

  • Hahaha If these walls could talk! rich!

  • Gavin Lee is hilarious and looks so fun to hang out with

  • I'd have to say the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre in,Kalamazoo MI. Its beautiful Theatre with a ton of history!

  • I'd have to say the Masonic Temple in Scranton, PA. It was designed by the same person who designed the Radio City Music Hall. They're in the middle of a restoration but it still is beautiful.

  • The Fabulous Fox theatre in Atlanta is my favorite!! Its so beautiful!! I hope that I can see the Fabulous Fox in St. Louis one day as well.

  • WOW, this seems to be a beautiful theatre!!! If ever I go there I'm taking a picture right next to kristin chenoweth's signed autograph!!

  • i wish my room looked like that =P

i love your videos andrew they're all so different! and who knew watching someone run up and down stairs for 7 minutes could keep me so entertained?

    thanks! =]

  • well, i live in St. Louis and my family owns season tickets.... but i was stupid and let my sister's friend have my ticket for Mary Poppins... but i think i did see you for 25th Annual at the Fox.... I LOVE THE FOX THEATRE

  • I've been to the fabulous fox before and they gave us a backstage tour. It truely is a beautiful theatre. Hhhmm, i think the Orpheum in Memphis is pretty as well :)

  • I love the Elgin theatre in Toronto...it's so old, it has one of those cage style elevators that has an operator! I saw RENT there (its set looked so out of place with the rest of the theatre) and I'm pretty sure I saw Spelling Bee there too!

  • I know you've seen it, seeing as how you went to there. But U of M has a gorgeous theatre.

  • I'd have to say The Orpheum, in Memphis, is my favorite. Well I'm slightly biased because I live in Memphis, but still it's a gorgeous theatre! Hahaha I believe you were there AKB when you were on the Spelling Bee tour! Next time you come to Memphis, PLEASE make a Memphis blog! :D

  • Well done vid!

  • I've been to Marcus Movie theaters quite a few times.

    I don't think that counts...

  • BAM Harvey is pretty gorgeous.

  • so many of the london theatres.. her majesties, the apollo victoria, the gielgud.. :)

    man i love theatre!! :)

    xxx

  • I really love the Colonial Theatre in Boston.. I think it is just beautiful!

  • That's so cool!

I think I'm gonna have to go see Mary Poppins when it's here just to go see you in it.

  • I love the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Every time I go there, whether it is to see a musical or a ballet, I'm just overwhelmed by magnificence.

  • I personally hate the Academy of Music. You don't have a good view unless you're in the orchestra. [Or on stage.] One of my favorites is the Imperial [NYC].

  • Yeah, I saw Lion king in the first mezz, and legally blonde in orchestra, and the orchestra was much better

  • Great theatre! I love it there!

Plus I think the Marry Poppins tour is coming there next season [2010 -11]

  • I got to go to the Royal Haymarket Theatre in London this summer while I was studying there and saw Waiting for Godot. That theatre was gorgeous and it set a really neat contrast to the dilapidation of the set itself.

  • I do enjoy the the Goodspeed Opera House in CT.

I was also wondering what show you were in and the character you played?

  • Holy crap, that backstage is GORGEOUS. I'd pay just to go backstage. One theater that always makes me smile is the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT. It's not the most lavish theater in the country, but it doesn't have to be, it's simply beautiful. It looks especially gorgeous at night from the parking lot because it sits next to a lake and with the lawn lights shining on the building looks so lovely. Also you can just FEEL the history in that place when you walk in.

  • Id say the Academy in Philadelphia. My friends and I saw Legally Blonde there, and while waiting, we atempted to run from the orchestra to the top of the 5th level, in under 5 minutes. My friends succeded. Me...Not so much haha

  • I know a couple of the ushers there- I can't believe your friends didn't get stopped. Cheers!

  • haha well we were there REEEEEALLLYY early

  • The Fox Theatre in Detroit is my favourite theatre for sure.

I'm sure you've been there, AKB. lol.

  • The CPA in San Jose, CA is nice (my home town)

But I LOVE the Orpheum in SF

  • I would have to say that the FOX in STL is the best theatre I've seen, but maybe I am bias because I live there. Radio City Music Hall in NYC, which took insperation from the Fox Movie Palces, is also pretty awesome.

PS: Did you guys run into the Phantom of the FOX?

  • i love the Orpheum in Memphis, TN.

It use to be an old Opera House and is said to be haunted by several ghosts. Did someone tell you about Mary, the little girl ghost? Did you experience any super natural things when you were there for Spelling Bee?

  • the fox theater in atlanta

  • wow. so there's no room for you to pre-set some costumes to eliminate some of the traveling?

  • I love passion pit

  • Every theatre I've been in has somewhat amazed me for one reason or another. But mainly because theatres seem as if it's a living breathing thing for me. Especially when I' backstage.

If I had to pick a favourite though, I'd say the Opera House in Paris. I'm a sucker for grand architecture.

  • Thanks for the tour of the theater! Completely amazing! But my legs are hurting just watching this video!

  • Yay! I'm so glad you made this video! I've seen many shows at the Fox (I live in St Louis) and I certainly loved seeing you in Mary Poppins! I got the privilege to meet Ms, Ashley Brown and her adorable dog who you featured! (Laird introduced my sister, mom and I) Unfortunately though I didn't see you! :( but I've thoroughly enjoyed your St Louis video's and pictures of your adventures here!

  • The Orpheum Theatre, the one you're in right this very second is PHENOM. The glass chandelier in the middle is gorgeous, and the wall backstage boasts so many big names.

They host "Spotlight Awards" every year in June. It's basically the Tony Awards for high schools in MN. Awesome experience.

And my parents are deaf, so they come see interpreted performances. The ASL interpreters in MN are wonderful people. So fantastically great at their jobs!

Have fun performing there these next few weeks!

  • I've been on tour with a kids show for the past 2 1/2 years, no it's not "Muppet Babies Live," hahaha. Anyway, I would have to say my all time favorite theater we performed in was the Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo, Japan. It's a new modern venue, but it was so architecturally impressive I just couldn't help being in awe of the fact that we would performing there every time I walked into the building. AMAZING!

Thanks again for another great video. I can't wait for the next one. :~)

  • love love love the Hippodrome in Baltimore. anyways i love your blog but i have to admit i miss the good ol' times you had with vanessa and dana. i think i'll go watch the "one where they're spies" now :)

  • I have just started watching this, and am glad I have. But what show is he doing?

  • He's doing the National Tour of Mary Poppins.

  • Mary Poppin's first national tour.

  • The Royal Theater in Victoria, British Columbia is really swanky!

  • hey andrew, i KNOW you'll read this.

p.s. there's a fox theatre in our (meaning you and me) hometown of deeeeeeeetroit :) although, i have to say: that fox does look a bit cooler..

  • This was great! and now I want to travel to St. Louis to see this theater!

I just saw RENT at The Ringwald in Ferndale, MI -- small, but so cute and the actors were A-MAZING!

  • You're blogs make me proud to be an actor. Hilarious blog! I don't really know any beautiful theatres. The closest one to me is Proctors which I believe you came to for Spelling Bee, but I'm not sure. I loved the plugging of The Battery's Down (Yes, I caught the Sardi's song even before the second word). Now I gotta do some plugging of my own, if you don't mind. CALLING ALL AKB FANS!!! The officially unofficial AKB fansite will be up soon. I promise! I'll post the link as soon as possible!

  • All of the theatres a part of Playhouse Square in Cleveland are pretty...rich.

  • I work in a very small amateur theatre in sydney (250 seats, no fly tower) and it always blows my mind to go somewhere else. I saw Avenue Q in the Theatre Royal on Saturday and everything blew me away. the crazy round foyer. the diffferent lighting positions. everything :P

    Call me easily impressed...

  • Great Blog. Well I havent been to many theatres, but the BEST one i have gone to was the HOBBY CENTER in HOUSTON. Which i believe you guys are coming to (and i plan to see the show). I was actually nominated for a tommy tune awards and got to perform on that stage in front of a full house. It was such an amazing experience and just the beautiful stars on the ceiling look so great! I believe you would stare at the stars as Leaf Coneybear when you sat in the audience during spelling bee tour :)

  • Love it!! The Fox Theatre is pretty amazing!

My favorite theatre probably is the Orpheum (where you're at now... haha) I know it's nothing too grand but I've had a lot of amazing memories there :)

  • classic, love it!

  • I LOVE THE FOX!! =).
