  • i spent 30 min looking for this, finally fucking found it. haven heard this in 4 years. so happy.

  • I did NOT find this disturbing to masturbate to!!!!!

  • @MVDrumline Try jerking to the beat....took me 4.3 sec to finish

  • kungfoo music

  • That's amazing. But I'd be more impressed if they were holding the bass drums and moving with them, while playing, and staying in step.

  • @NicoleWrite They wouldn't be doing this sort of thing on a marching band field, it's an ensemble.

  • @NicoleWrite I'm sure they could buddy.

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmnnnn!!!

  • which bd corp is this? bda or bde?

  • Bass lines are so under-appreciated... And rolls like they were doing are ridiculous.

Bass drums are the best. -3

  • People don't give as much credit to bassists, because it is supposedely easier? But, without a bass line a drum line is empty as hell. It takes skill do do something like this. So I give all credit to the basses in this video. xD

  • @KaShayShay03 I dont know why people think bass is easy. Most corps bass drummers played snare at one point.

  • type PRIZE before youtube

  • that is some fucking amazing shit! I'd love to be able to play like that!

I dig on bass three, but that five has got some mad chops!

  • Bass 5's got chops!

  • This is absolutely unreal

  • Sick, man, sick. It sounds like one person playing some massive tenors . . . with about eight extra arms. I loves me some bass ensemble.

  • imagine being in that audience and having to keep yourself from exploding.

  • Thats WORLD class percussion right there.

  • wow, ya know what is actually a little better than this? Seriously. the "Clean Beats Promo" video is crazy! they are BETTER THAN THE BLUE DEVILS! seriously, u should check it out

  • i wonder how fast the snares could play?

  • Everything was so clean!

  • This makes me happy.

  • how the hell

  • LMAO!!! Does anybody here the camera guy possibly the drum instructor whiper " shit " @ 0:49? I didnt hear it the first time. I went back cuz the alternate sticking between them sounded a little choppy to me and I heard it. Classic.

  • @master22drumfool sounds more like a "phew"

  • bass 1 fucks up 2:51

  • @bunyancutincrew , no he didn't ..... that was bass 2's part buddy...

  • i quit

  • i was watching the sticking and my eyes couldn't keep up...

  • yeah, mind blown.

  • the last part gave me goose bumps!

  • sick nasty

  • wow and my school's basses weren't that good already

  • That was amazing.

  • I love all the unisons!

  • its the blue men group!

  • great stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome top bass

  • that 1st bass is a beast

  • ya they are pretty sick i go to elk grove high school and we bought are uniforms from them so now we use those

  • sickest bassline ever!!!! 1sT BASS!!!!!!!!! all the way

  • Why is it that there's never any good bass line videos in good quality. This shits amazing regardless.

  • if u had beast ass subwoofers you could get good quality.

  • google search bass ensemble and you get tons of good videos

  • We have those same basses at my school

    number 1 =)

  • ........blue devils are the fucking best! goooo first bass!

  • I like that they put some of their show book in the solo.

  • Love the ending.. so powerful, it gives me goosebumps :)

  • Dam 1st bass is my baby and this is what i would love to fricken be a part of. a awesome bass line

  • This right here, is why I march bass drum two.

  • 3:26 to 3:35 is fkkn sickkk !

  • get some!

  • Just curious, what place did this ensemble get, that was great!

  • pretty sure I just shit myself....

  • have you been eating that yogurt again?

  • @SpDrumz seriously, bass line is usually the one that gets little to no love :( finally glad to see them showing viewers what we're all about :3

    bassline ftw :P

  • 32nd notes with one hand and on a bass unbelievable

  • that's technique or also you can do it with odd strokes,an cordination practicing a drag

  • @gfaithw not really, 32nds at 60 beats a minute is only 8 hits a second.

  • @gfaithw kinda like a slow role with one hand, basically...

  • i love to do bass line, but the bass line at my school wasnt great. i wish we were good, other wise i wouldve stayed. i do tenors now

  • tenors are where its at, i gotta give basses some respect when they get nice runs and grooves like this though

  • its shit like this that keeps me drumming

  • i think they get the different more muffled sound because of the type of base drum heads they use. they're thicker than the more commonly used ones in any marching band

  • I came from a small school in a small part of the rural world, and our drumlines were always small and under-talented. I remember the first year we weeded out the non-hackers and trained everyone up, we were the only line that did runs at competition and took home best in class. It was fantastic. A good bass line is essential.

  • Can anyone give any SPECIFIC instructions on getting the BD bass drum sound? I know they use a lot of double strokes rather than singling things, but how do they do their muffling to get a sound unlike any other corp?

  • Different kinds of drums? Different drum sticks? I'm not sure. It's a good question.

  • @matthewR77 , most of our stuff was single stroke... they don't play this way anymore.. we were all pretty much trying to emulate the 99 bassline.. not as good by anymeans but still did it up... but pretty much play out lol

  • 1:41 O_O

  • HEY GUYS.. The tied and untied roll in snaredrum is played alike?

  • bassline is 100% worth it!!!!! it's taught me to be patient and to work my ass off!...if your in a really good drumline like ours you must practice all the time or you will get behind. And if you have a group of great players that can count and sub divide their ass's off then it makes for the coolest thing ever and people will love to watch!!!

  • My recommendation is to stay in the bass line forever. You will WRECK in the future. I know. I wreck all the time. lol

  • i just made the d line at my school and i play bass now but isnt my 1st choice at all..

    is bassline worth it?

  • ABSOLUTELY

  • i play snare bass and tenors

the two years i played bass if your playing with guys that know what there doing...BASSLINES ARE FUCKN AWSUM!!!

  • even though most high school basslines are mostly freshman, its not any less cool than "upper battery." bass is really fun, especially when you have a good line. rock out and have a good time.

  • I just got finished marching bass, I moved to snare, but I loved bass. It is truly amazing when your bass line nails runs, they will soud amazing. Good luck dude!

  • i played bass for two years and then went to snare and for my senior year i actually wanted to go on bass but because of shortage of people they wouldnt let me. i think bass is the funnest thing on drumline!

  • This needs to be an olympic sport

  • 3:02 Perfect Shaping

  • yeah... we had a couple of drum instructors from DCI when i was in high school... and our heads were always tight. we went through so many that my senior year we ordered in bulk. Blue devs have always been so sweet!!!

  • fuckin yeah those runs man!

  • holy shit...sssooo ssssweeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DCI RAW AS FUcK, THXY GOTTA HAVX THXY SHIT SUUUPPPXXRR TIGHT!!!!

  • lolwut?

  • that was wen i rote like retard my b... i was talkin bout how SUUUUPPPPER tight they drum heads gotta b to sound like that

  • I think this is the most synchroized thing I have ever seen

  • SWEET!!!!!!!! I love, really love low instruments, simply love bass drums... exquisite video...

  • SIGN ME UP!

  • this is tits i dont understand why there is no applause

  • It's because they're stunned speechless.

  • cuz theyre all in amazement!

  • I love kickass DCI Bass Drum runs

  • Blue Devils all the way!!

  • that takes a lot of practice. mad props

  • 1:41 was crazy

  • You guys were crazy this year :)

  • they are redic

  • i'm not sure, but makana told me that one of the years iono if it was this year, that the bassline made their i&e like the night before and got 2nd haha, pretty tight

  • It was actually two nights before. We had two midnight rehearsals and then a couple runs the morning of I&E. Good times...

  • @evilbass24 midninght my ass bro it was more like 3 am!!!! remember when the cops came and asked what the hell we were doing lmao

  • Classic Blue Devil Bassline, runs all over with huge Unison finishes. God I wish I were that good.

  • kick ass runs!

  • the blue devils are my fave

  • this is awesome!! i wish the line im on could do that!

  • Blue Devils are the bomb like tick- tick!

  • โคตรเก่งเลย

  • I remember driving all night to Madison WI. I just so happened to get into to see this. Then went to my hotel and crashed, I have this video but from the other side of the room. Yeah this was a great year for them.

  • =p i play bass 3...but not like that!

  • I play bass 3 too :D

  • lol yay for bass three! i broke a head tonight right before a performance.....can you say ghost notes?

  • hey seuss 8ch boobies also

  • Jesus H. Tits

  • Man, it really helps to have a line full of amazing players. The Bass Line is the most interconnected section there is, and this video proves it. If even one of them wasn't extremely talented, they could never have done this. I've been bottom bass for our school for four years now, and just earned myself the job of Percussion Captain. Our Basses can pull off stuff like this every now and then, but not so easily as them. I've always been a Cadets man, so I can't show BD too much love.

    ;)

  • The amazing part is that this was all put together in 3 days.

  • WoW !!

  • good stuff!

  • they are the best for ever

  • holy crap!

  • shit dude, that bass line is sweet.

  • I had this on my myspace profile for some time(no joke). This was definitely a great bass line, even though corps and their show were no match for the Cavies in '02. I've always been curious as to what causes the slight skip at 3:25. If anyone can explain, please explain. Other than that, good stuff.

  • i THINK THEY STOPPED THE CAMERA FOR SOME STUPID REASON

  • DYNASTY TOWELS! YES!

  • arguably one of the best bass lines ever.

  • this was amazing lol, i just wish they had added a filler like the blue knights when they switched sticks

  • wow, what a great perform..

    i am a percussionist too..

    DCI is my 偶像 lolz...

  • haha lol i wanted to know what 偶像 meant so i accually got it translated lol...its idol by the way people

  • so clean!!! all the time. crazy. if only our school had that. LOL. :p

  • they are like a machine! OMG!

  • damn, i mean i am a woodwind player but after seeing these guys, it makes me want to be in the drum line lol.

  • basses should be the best players u can get away with shitty snare and ok quads but not shitty basses

  • perfectly said.....

  • i agree with you 110% man i play bass 3 in my line and the snares get away with everything but when one of us plays at the wrong time we have to do pushups and if we keep on messin up we have to do them with the drum on our back

  • but hey the bass line is way better i mean look at all the people that play the snares or tenors compared to the elite few that rock the bass

  • is that some kind of joke that I dont understand?

  • If it is, I'm not laughing....

  • if your drumline wins either dci, or wgi, you can speak

    til then, have some respect

Scores in the high 90s isnt easy for anyone

  • that is incredible, those runs have no gaps wat so ever, i wish our bass line at our school was that incredible, its good but nothin like that

  • what did u guys get? a 1?

  • Sorry double bass pedal players, you can't compete with this.

  • wanna bet

  • yeah, i do

  • 50$.

    anyday

  • Gives double bass a whole new meaning!

  • that was a feast for my eyes [and ears]

  • srry cadets bd just beat u out on this one

  • those stick heights were so freakin' great.

  • i love bass lines and this one was sweet

  • my god! amazing!

  • Yo thats like the TIGHTEST bass section Ive ever seen. Rolls were DELICIOUS!!

  • gah, if only every band had a bassline like this one. tight, and trained. the devils are certainly elite.

  • Bass 2 , Ryan, is my bass tech. Haha

  • yeah, i'm bass 3 =]

    it rocks hardcore.

  • Right on. I'm hopefully gonna make bass three on Academys Bassline for the 08 season.

  • I play bass 1 i was 2 as a freshman but now im 1

  • does anyone else besides me play 1?

  • bass 5 is where the party is at man.

  • wow these people never cease to amaze me. i play in the Allen Texas High School band (rumored to be the biggest band in the US 650+ members) and our base line sux compared to them

  • how do u fit on the field?!?!

and dont compare your bass line to these professionals

  • thats crazy how are there that many people?

  • stupid Allen. Yall are so cocky being the biggest band, that's all you got! You guys can't even march anywhere on the field!

  • thats awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • thats amazing

  • nice. I'm bass 4 in my drumline. we do a song like this with basses on the ground, but it's no where near as complex.

  • Yea 5th bass is definitely the best i play it in my band even though I'm like the smallest member of the drumline.
