I was the same way on just about everything you just said. Lol! But I taught myself spanish JUST to know what gossip my family were talking about between each other. LMAO! My aunt had a restaurant and I had no choice but to work there starting when I was 7 or so and listen to them talk in spanish allll freakin day! Sucky. So I learned by asking questions and watching novelas with my mom and having her translating everything to me. But now I know everything and she can't hide anything now!
This is so inspiring! I look forward to hearing about your continuing story! New subscriber! And you can totally call your messages fanmail, what else could it be?
@thedroidsurlookin4 Haha Thanks for your veiwership! More stories to come (Actually one coming up really soon) so stay tuned. Glad you enjoyed. Hope you're having a good one buddy!
@LeonOyaro Haha Yup Derwood. Hated it there though, nothing to do and nothing interesting. Had to get out. Thanks for subscribing! keep watching, more stories to ensue, I promise!
I can kind of relate, My mom never taught me Chinese Growing up, so we just spoke English in the house. Whenever we went to Chinatown though she would speak to the shop owner for a long time and I couldn't understand. Frustrating! >:(
This was an awesome video! Thanks for sharing more. What was your biking journey like? Where did you stay? What did you eat? I probably would have died from exhaustion a mile from my house and you pretty much biked across the country... haha.
@goukeai Oh man where to begin! haha I stayed in a variety of places but one thing that really helped was couchsurfing, a hospitality website geared towards travelers. Overall It was an experience I'll never forget.
@Codylangaugesblog Oh yeah I forgot to mention that in the story, basically I realized the place I was staying was no good. I was lied to, used, unpaid, and confined. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and ran away on October 8th 2006. It was quite the intense moment. I wrote the story about it in one of my facebook notes....
i've actually been meaning to ask you if you'd ever share your thoughts on your story. i'm intrigued. but, i was meaning to ask you on the emotionality of the big moves in your life, even traveling abroad. were/are you scared, nervous, curious, angry, optimistic, etc when you go about this ventures alone? but i mean on personal level, not like getting job.
@19fas88 There were only two times I was really scared, the day I ran away from Korea and the FIRST day I left Maryland on my bike trip across the country. Otherwise when I venture on my own I feel a huge sense of enthusiasm and energy. It's amazing.
Wow Paul, your story is quite something. I am glad you shared it. And on another note, are you growing a gotee (no idea how to spell that)? Im seeing some shadow happening there, lol
@hormello AW YEEEESSSS!!! You NOTICED!!! Hahaha. I've been trying REAL hard to grow SOMETHING for years and FINALLY SOMEONE NOTICES!!!! HAHA Thanks buddy.
@pangdabear Haha Thanks. "Han" as you can tell is my Korean Last name. My camcorder has this weird setting where it follows your face whenever you sit front of it. I have to read the manual and learn how to turn it off! Haha

@IceMorning89 Yup same here. My parents did that all the time. You kind of have to deal with it and learn to adapt over time.
