Some of the comments on here are from some damn fools! The only time you heard a change in her voice was after she made her comeback...her voice was still amazing in the 90's...even after "The Bodyguard"..! Furthermore, I'd like to see any of you hold a candle to her even to this day. There are still few artists who will even attempt to sing this song! Ms. Houston is an amazing talent! She was the best voice of this time in her prime!

people have the nerve to talk about her when i think she did dam good. you haven't heard dolly parton even attemp to sing that song publicy since she made. i wonder how dolly parton would sound singing it now. yes the drugs played a part but for her to show clyde the respect he is do and do those songs i give her my utmost respect and to hell with all you yall that are ungrateful. do you look the same way you looked 20 years ago. hell nah we change regardless of drugs and her voice has changed.

Whitney is great although her voice is not the same. She's still a great musician but her voice does limit her now and she can't do her old songs justice. She is pure class though!

Whitney started drugs just before the bodyguard and you can hear from about 96 onwards that her voice is more 'condensed'.. and slightly raspy, on high notes, from about now.

Whitney, nevertheless, will always be my favourite!!

@dagll YES finally who noticed that right after the Bodyguard her voice was going. Her voice last 10 years...unfortunately other greats lasted longer

@dagll EXACTLY- I noticed it during '94 when she was singing the Bodyguard songs so much that I assumed she was burned out. But even on the Waiting To Exhale sdtk "Why Does It Hurt So Bad' and onwards....her voice sounded harsh...any truth to her having medical issues? I've heard for that for years?

@astrogliding well after body gaurd 1992 it all went down. She's always sounded amazing though.

Rumour has it she wasn't too keen on body gaurd, it was too hard for her and she didn't have a chance to rest or take a break - this has obviously caused the voice to be ruined.

But... the drugs and 30 odd years of smoking have clearly ruined her breathing, which is why she keeps taking breaths.

anyway who cares, here she sounds AMAZING and this is supposed to be her at her worst.
