This is Magma's worst period, people. But don't dismiss this amazing group due to a dip in the road in the 80s. Magma came back hotter than ever in the 90s and are still going strong (on a world tour right now actually).

The Merci album is about half laughable, but other Magma is among the most powerful music I have ever experienced (and I've experienced a lot of music in all genres, from classical to jazz to punk.)

Wow, where to begin with that comment?!

1) Zess was composed well before the Merci album.

2) Worst is a relative term. It doesn't necessarily mean bad--although a lot of 80s Magma WAS bad. Still, the Merci album still has 3 good pieces on it. But even Vander discusses it as an egg.

3) Why the hell are you picking on a fan trying to defend a great group against those making fun of them? What's the point?

Fine, bigger fan, crank up "Call from the Dark (Ooh Baby)" and enjoy yourself.
