  • I liked the video man !

  • nice vid

  • Yes, Steve, independence is fantastic !! Being independent and appreciating it one needs to be ready for it. There are certain stages in one life where it is almost impossible to be se sufficient. Not just for financial reasons, (and I agree not much $ is needed), but because of emotional maturity. You @ your

young age are more emotionally mature than some seniors.

Your vids are confirming what I've believed in for many years now.

  • Good work, Another great video Steve : ). Its interesting that now that the Y2K scare is over, we are given a new date of 2012 to worry about!

  • @bob2me2002 Great point. Fear = control. Hell is a great motivator.

  • Great staff 5*. Everyone, rate this video and comment - this will help it to get to the top in You tube. Such channels should be up at the top. Peace and Thank You For Shedding The Light.

  • Thank you for supporting the channel!

  • If you are single and don't have children you have the freedom to change jobs and fail and succeed without having to fear failure. You have the freedom to "fail".When you have children homlessness is not an option. you can get your kids taken away (stolen) . so stressed and I only do it for my kids. If I didn't have kids I wouldn't fear homlessness . You are truly empowered when you can help others who suffer. If you don't have tons of responsablility its much easier to volenteer your time.

  • True. This is why it's important for us who don't have kids to truly consider the tremendous sacrifices parents make. Having said that there are always creative options to start planting the seeds for a fulfilling career.

  • What you are talking about here is a tough act to follow on a consistent basis. Life is too complicated....

Thanks for the video Steve! p.s i speak fluent so feel free to practice with me dude

  • Thank you for the offer. Life is as complicated as we choose. I have lived out of a tent for months and lived in the big city. Fortunately I have the freedom to choose my destiny.

  • favd!

    awesome vlog Steve :)

  • Thank you Jakluk. Always great hearing from you.

  • Thanks for sharing another great video. :)

As far as having to stay in a workplace, I find that a lot of the time, people are given no choice but to stay in a job even if they don't like it. The only time I can see of where people can't stay would be if the job became so stressful that it started to affect their health. For example, working late nights and being around people who always stress you out. a combination of late night shifts and stressful supervisors may not be a good combination.

  • There is no doubt as a society we need each other, but when we become so dependent that we compromise who we are, and our emotional stability, as typically seen in the workplace, this is a clear example of one person taking advantage of another's vulnerbility. Yeh self sufficiency encompasses many things.

  • i completely agree. we can't learn how to walk if someone is always holding us up. sometimes we fall a whole bunch of times before we get it right, but the sweet reward is that we have done it on our own.

  • Thanks Steve, this is a great video.

It's hard to be self sufficient for me, as I am 17 and I depepnd on my parents a lot. But I have a job and pay for my cell phone bill, and any other expenses such as clothes and sometimes food. I'm also saving up for a car, and preparing myself for being out on my own sometime soon. Your videos are great, and give me a lot of direction and advice. Thanks again!

  • My pleasure. Thank you for taking the time to comment. What a blessing to have your wisdom at 17.

  • there is 2 ways of living life. 1st is being at the mercy of everyone and everything that surrounds you, 2nd living from the source, from your soul. 1st energy is directed outward to inward, 2nd the energy is comes from inside and goes outside. it's very easy to observe that in people. Some just walk around behaving like a victim to their environment , compared to those who always a genuine general sens of contentment, because they know the source!, which is within you!!

  • Eloquently stated. Thank you.

  • Y 2 K . Long term price....when ya see me walking past smile.

  • We downsized and went from a big home to a townhouse. My wife still works, so we have her health benefits. I added a computer program to my cars to run them both on E-85, saving myself 30 to 60 cents a gallon, or I can run gasoline as well. I fired my piano teacher and found better lessons for free on the internet. I have a lot more peace than I could ever imagined 4 years ago. Looking back, losing my job was the best thing that happened, that taught me not to depend on others so much.

  • Inspirational! Thank you for sharing.

  • You are on a roll Steve! Since I lost my job 4 years ago, I spend more time with my wife and girls. I do a lot of odd jobs that has at least replaced half of the money I made in corporate America. I love making my own hours and being out of the rat race. I've learned a lot more from the internet since I have time to research things. I don't miss the hour drive and the bottleneck traffic jams. I'm teaching myself girls and myself Java code. Our brains can do anything if we focus!

  • the only problem, steve, is freeing oneself from the rent system, i thank God my parents are letting me live with them till i can get a small lot and a mobile home

  • There are many creative solutions. Just check Amazon and the internet for suggestions on the topic.
