vowel harmony(모음조화) do not keep in order well in modern korean language.(Standard modern Korean = be used by well-educated people in Seoul) but about a half thousand years ago, vowel harmony kept in order well. 오나라 = o na ra (500years ago. or now a days, remains some old people's south eastern dialect) 오너라 = o nu ra (Standard modern Korean) 오나라 오나라 아주 오나 가나라 가나라 아주 가나 나나니 나려도 못노나니 아니리 아니리 아니노네 에야 디야 에야 나나니요 오지도 못하나 나도 가마 에야 디야 에야 나나니요 오지도 못하나 나도 가마
Damn I remember this was song in one of Korean dramas which is have been filling up TV channels. The grossest thing is these dramas seem to have some kind of magnetic affinity toward our family's female population. Sometimes I had to fight with my sister over, channel in order to watch NBA playoff games (in 2004 when our Pistons whooped Lakers ass) But I have to admit this song is good!
오나라 means "come to me" but they don't say it like this now because just like English was spoken differently hundreds of years ago, korean was spoken a little differently hundreds of years ago.
I noticed the similarity...like yea (of course this is quite common) and 'kuree' (sp?) as in 'correct'? Same goes with 'arastu' (sp?) as in understand
Oh and I love the song...any link with full lyrics and meaning?
This is my favorite drama too. "Ohnara" means please come. that music means That a woman miss the man leaving from her. and the singers are little girls.
It's a folksy dialect meaning 'will he/she come'. "will he come, will he come, will he come for good? will he leave, will he leave, will he leave for good. Even if the bird ties to fly it can't, it isn't, it isn't it can't be... " It's a longing song about divided love.

O-nara mean Come, Ga-nara means leave/go.
Shorten word is Ora = come here, Gara = Go or leave, native words of Korean.

Don't think so.
O nara is short for ooori nara. Our country.

can i ask?? wat does ONARA means????

@juliexxx14 . the mean is bigcountry

Onara is something like 'come or coming'...
The lyrics can be confusing and misleading due to the fact that this song, as far as I can tell, is in Traditional Korean rather than Modern Korean.
