  • damn olds motor...in a pontiac ....wouldnt have it ...I have a 79 with pontiac 400 ...enuff said

  • t/a 6.6 came with 3.23 gears never 3.08 and 3.42 in 4 speed 1978 cars .Thought id set the facts straight.

  • nice car but i still like the snowflake rims better

  • Bandit edition? fucking rednecks!

  • Sounds great!

  • pontiac, buick and olds didnt have a "small block" "big block" it was a small journal and big journal on the crank. the blocks are all the SAME except for the bore and stroke from the crank.. just a little info for you

  • @jarretthise Pontiac blocks were all the same size. However you are dead wrong on Buick and Olds. #1 The Buick 350 is certainly a small block w/ deck height of just over 10 inchs.Buick big blocks were 400,430,455 w/ deck just over 10.5. Not sure about wildcats and nailheads. #2 The Olds 260,307,350,and 403 are small blocks with 9.33 deck height. The 400 and 455 olds big blocks have a taller deck(10.625) and are heavier than the 403 and other small blocks...just a little correct info for you

  • what did you mean by "rubbing" when you were talking about the rims?

  • In 1979 you could get the 400 Pontiac (T/A 6.6) engine with the 4 speed. The standard car was a (6.6 litter) 403 Oldsmobile engine.

The T/A 6.6 car had 220hp the 6.6 car had 185hp. The WS6 option was a handling package that included 4 wheel disc brakes and a slightly lower rear end gear, 3.08 vs. 2.73. That same year the camaro had 175hp, but had a 3.42 rear gear and was a match for the base car only. The 400 is a big block, the 403 a quick revving small block. The 403 with the WS6 package wa

  • @rvaughn61 ... you got it...sums it up...I feel you like wat you have..or get somthing diff....its more about the driving to me...then if its one of 4000 or whatever...some people are just missing the point...

  • Hotroddug - you shouldn't have fired it up, because I just came in my pants!!!

    Thanks Buddy!

  • I had to make a new account because for some reason I was blocked... anyways I just got a 79 solar gold Trans Am with a 301 four speed. It has a 400 in it now cause I don't know how many of these cars came with this combo. Hopefully you know because I've searched and searched everywhere.

  • @bandit3271980 I dont see no video of your trans am...must not have one...enjoy your models...lol

  • @bandit3271980 your looking at one...one of 250 made..lol

  • piece of shit olds 403

  • BAD ASS!

  • sounds like timking is off or starter is wore out lol.theres no such thing as a gold bandit edition lmao

  • @bandit3271980 - You're right! There's no such thing as a GOLD Bandit. 1977-81 S/E Trans Ams were popularly called "bandits" because of you-know-which-movie. All Y84 coded S/Es were BLACK. There was an Gold S/E option in 1978, though (code Y88).

  • @bandit3271980 It's called the Y-88 check out my vids theres one in there that's my grandpas. They are extremely rare and made only in 1978 but had the same solar gold color as this trans am.

  • great job!!!you`ve made it!!!YOU`RE D_MAN....:)

  • You want a ride?..

  • nice car man! i had a 79 with the 403 and it was the best most reliable car i ever had, sooo sick of people bagging on the 403, its a very durable buildable motor, change the gears and your rockin big time!

  • Im with you...most dependeble motor, I've ever owned..

  • Lucky

  • Doesn't sound weird at all mate. sounds great.

  • when it revs down it sounds soo weird

  • you need a new starter or alternator

  • What do you have for an exhaust system on that thing?

  • It is a flowmaster,,, pretty standard 2and 1/4

the motor revs to around 6000 rpms...

  • @hotroddug MAN! Nice sound. I've got flowmaster on my 79 T/A and i can't get it to sound any good. I'm Thinking to get new Magna flow. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  • @15moneybags well i like the sound of mine, but it an old style flowmaster,, might not have the same design anymore,,IM not to sure on the maganflow sound, but..do wats best for the motor not just the sound..need you have bigger exhaust and more flow..based on compression and headers...good luck
