I have to say this is the first time someone from CAIR sounds intelligent and calm, this guy actually nailed it and his position seem reasonable.

But why reward someone for being a muslim and give him bigger breaks, other workers should have equal time set for meditation or something like that.

CHRISTIANS DO NOT HAVE 5 MANDATORY REQUIRED PRAYERS....Muslims call the Christian prayers "Supplication" or "Dua" which can be done anytime, however the "Salat" are 5 daily prayers that have to be done on time. You can do a Dua anytime...

There's a perfectly good explanation for Bill's question, "Why didn't I hear about this ten years ago?"

The answer is simple! It wasn't making national headlines ten years ago. Ever since 9/11, everything in the Muslim world headlines Fox, CNN and MSNBC. The complaints were still there in 1989, 1994 and 1999...but it was hardly a story O'Reilly would have touched upon at that time.

ok, so buy a smoker going on a 15 minute break to do what they want (which is potentionally causing damage to their bodies) and a muslim going on a prayer break which would last say... 10 minutes in order to (as they believe, better themselves) that makes it unreasonable?

A 15 minute smoke break also causes disruption to the flow of work on a much larger scale.

15 minutes break to do whatever you please (piss, smoke, coffee or prayer) should not be a issue worth fighting for.

I have to say, your comments are regrettable. When Christians or Jews stand up and ask for accommodations, special rights or privileges, or when you consider the way our workweek is set up, no one gets upset. Need I remind you we supposedly live in a country where Church and State are separated. How then, is it acceptable for the Holy days of Christians and Jews to be our weekends, yet when Muslims try to request small accommodations there is an uproar?
