  • Comment removed

  • If i understood with this way you can play in hd like 1080p or 720 on your tv but the recorded video will be in 480p am i wrong ?

  • @UA34EVER dazzle works on most consoles

  • ok ...

if we did not a computer, we were not watching this video!

  • OMFG are u kidding?! O_o u think i go to buy this shit NEVER!!

  • can't you just use HDMI?

  • does it work for a mac?

  • Just buy a Dazzle DVD Recorder, it only like $50 dollars way cheaper than this. It is fairly good video quality! Search on google for it to find it in a store near you!

  • Hi guys... I was in Maplins the other day chatting to the store manager.... He showed me a product that does the same thing for only about 90 quid!!

If you go to the maplins website and search for product code A72KQ you will see!

  • @flexiamoc This device (the Roxio Game Capture) does NOT DO THE SAME THING. Specifically it captures video but it doesn't capture it in HD. The capture resolution is 480P.

  • @flexiamoc it's now gone down to £80 :)

  • @flexiamoc yeah that's the roxio game capture.. it's not worth 90 quid since it only have a max resolution of 480p

wich is not HD.. if you don't care for HD and think 480p is enough then you'd be better off with an easycap wich cost like 5 quid... check my channel for easycap quality.

  • @flexiamoc can u use a mac

  • thank you

  • easy cap is way better and cheaper plus its simpler so f u

  • @ZOMBAYKILLA Yup. Easycap in ultra high definition all day every day.

  • @ZeroHeroVids sorry for the diss respect

  • OMG THIS HELPED ME EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OLD THANKS MAN

  • Does my computer have to have a HDMI input thing or can it just be a regular USB?

  • @GeardPanguin Nope... Dazzle is NOT HD... What is it you are actually trying to record??? PS3 Gameplay, or stuff off your Directv?

  • @nlck1597 This requires no software on the PS3 to work correctly. So should work fine.. As long as you can use Linux through component out on the PS3 you've got no problem.

  • Is the max quality that you can play in with the PS3 Component AV Cable (The ones with 5 plug ins) 480p or can i play in 720p or 1080p instead

  • @aMSUspartan You can play in 1080p.. Just depends on the TV.... At the time of making this video, my TV could go up to 1080i.. Since then I got a new TV which can go up to 1080p using Component. Just tick the relevant box during the display setup process.

  • whats the song

  • @MrAriskas Not sure, it is a random Youtube one... Sounds like elevator music to me!

  • it gona cost somthing like 1.459

  • HahA, at 0:18. Im watching on my iPad 2

  • 170!?! does it fly or what?!?

  • Thx man I'll just be rich sometime! ;D

  • Cheaper solutions exist, and we get the same results, we're in 2011 dude!

  • @FillVinf06 Exactly.. This video is over 2 years old!!!

  • @flexiamoc With the HD-PVR, will I be also able to record audio like for a "lets-play" type of video? Or would I need separate hardware and software for that? i.e: microphone and Audacity. Please reply thanks.

  • What song is this??

  • Oooor, u just get a PVR card for your PC and save a load of money.

  • @trayner2208 You need an HD PVR card for PC which is about the same price... The prices have dropped since I made this video 2 years ago... Also, the PCI cards require a free slot.. If you are using a laptop or an imac, you have to go for the USB option..

  • @flexiamoc There is one for around €80. A Hauppage hd pvr was around €200 when I checked it the last time.

  • @flexiamoc No you dont? get fraps for like 40 bucks and ir records in hd

  • @Shotxofxvalor Dude are you retarted or something, Fraps is for pc. This is consoles no pc.Take your computer, throw out the window (Make sure its smashed) and then run over with a car to make sure its smashed to pieces. When you get a console come back and talk to us.Until then gtfo of the video with your piece of shit fraps and pc.

  • thank god someone fianlly made a simple video thanks flexiamoc nice one mate

  • Anyone selling a PVR or recorder?? INBOX ME PLEASE IF YOU ARE!

  • @sambrsr97 You can record the mic chat that is incoming as this can easily be directed to go via the TV sound. The outgoing cannot because this isn't routed through the system. I'll try and look at a way when I move house and set up my PS3 again!

  • so the ps3 component cable is just as high deffinition as the hdmi cord???????? PLESE ANSWER

  • @XXmballard33 The simple answer is not quite as good, but barely noticable.

The technically correct answer is that they are the same because the resolution is no different. The image quality suffers ever so slightly though.

  • I find it funny how this video immediately starts with: "You will need: Happauge HD-PVR"

...like it's some inexpensive readily available product that anyone can shell out for.

Made me skip the rest of the video.

  • @UKFX So you want to record high definition gameplay for free??

  • @flexiamoc No nor do I expect it to be free, but suggesting a Happauge like it's an easily affordable cup cake tin of a recorder is not a smart option. I was just curious, I don't really need to record PS3 footage and I use Fraps for PC so it's all good.

  • @UKFX Well my cupcake is over 2 years old and still works fine ;-) works out at less then a few pence per day :-)

  • @flexiamoc Ahaha, nickname win! :D Coolios. Enoy your cup cake.

  • well to bad but thnx for the vid mate

  • what if your hdtv dont have the component sockets?

    what should i do??

  • @Th33G4M3R If you don't have component sockets then you'd need the black magic intensity pro which records via the HDMI outputs. See the video response at the top.

  • where can i get hauppage? or wha is it?

  • @GamerLatinoGuy Google it mate. Available from loads of online stores. Just seach for hauppauge HD-PVR

  • is this stuff expeensive?

  • @ROBERTOll2325 very :(

  • sorry about my bad spelling

  • dont need to be rude, but you dont need a compiter to wqtch this video, you could use a smartphone, normall phone, the ps3 itself, and really any form of technology with internet. For instance, im using my ipod touch to watch and comment this video

  • i want one but i dont got enough money is there a cheap one not in HD for like 30 bucks

  • @tbwf0620 yeah just any old VHS to DVD converter will do but make sure you get it on e bay cos at the computer stores theyre like 60 bux, i got one for 40 thats australian dollars anyway

  • Can I use this way with a 360?

  • @IIxMadManxIIMedia Yes, just need a component cable compatible with Xbox

  • @flexiamoc you mean a cable with the HD wires? Green Blue and Red? (I sound like a noob right now, but at least I'm not trying to hide it.)

  • @IIxMadManxIIMedia Yes.. Red, Blue, Green (For video) and Red, White (Sound)

  • yeah all you need is a hd-pvr, no big deal, i got a spare 400 bucks up my ass

  • Wtf i dont have that cable Ps3 component cable

  • @Ivgtaproductions Then buy one... My first PS3 Component cable cost me about £6 which is probably about $4.

  • @flexiamoc No it's probably about $8. Great video though!

  • @Entertainment640 Sorry.. I was drunk when I did the currency conversion.. Got it round the wrong way! lol

  • @flexiamoc pounds are worth more than dollars idoit

  • @minecraft14 I was drunk idoidoet

  • @flexiamoc not any more... T.T

lol its proly like 12$ now

  • Would I be able to use an HDMI to Component converter in order to do this set up with a monitor that only has HDMI? Since it seems the PS3 never connects directly to the monitor anyways, I was thinking PS3 component to HD-PVR, then HD-PVR's component cables to converter, then HDMI cable from converter to monitor (and obviously HD-PVR USB to computer)

  • @MuchitsujoRyu No. The PS3 to my knowledge can have output via HDMI or component but not both at the same time. The HD PVR does not have an HDMI output, so therefore it wouldn't work.

  • @MuchitsujoRyu Then buy one... My first PS3 Component cable cost me about £6 which is probably about $4.

  • I think I pretty much did the same but am still not able to produce sound with component cables, perhaps, I'll re-try it again, it seems you're using the older version of PS3, in which, the menu details are different, once I select video output d-component it doesn't ask what detail definition you want to select, it just goes automatically, anyways, I might have missed out something, will re do, appreciate your support, cheers.

  • @sought84 If you've got the HD-PVR installed, record you setting it up and post it to me... I might be able to help.

  • ok man i found some on e bay....385 bucks???? you gotta be kidding!!!

  • also im assuming this device will also work just as well with the x box 360

  • @punji73 Yeah, it will work with the Xbox 360.. Just need the component cable. It will work with any HD source as long as you can get it to have a component HD output.

  • @flexiamoc ok cool thanks, i notice the newer x boxes dont have a component output so i hear, luckily mine isnt that new and it has one and it also has a high def outlet lol

  • this is the device i need to record in high def!! and by the looks you dont need no clumsy double adaptors either! where do i get such a device??

  • how would you record commentary with this setup? i saw someone asked a while back but i didn't see a response...

  • @dragonlizi What you would have to do is add the commentary when the video is edited.... It is easy to do, just requires you to know how to use video editing software.

  • WTF MAN. Why do they have to be so expensive! :(

  • Cool!

  • Hey, you mention in your video that it's now around the £135 mark. I'm only able to find it to close to £190 in the UK. Do you mind pointing me in the right direction? Sorry to bother!

  • Jesus fucking Christ! Is there ANY way I can record gameplay without spending money I don't have?

  • @SuperFlyTheGr8 i know this sucks. but i use to have a dvd recorder/player back then i was good to go. but now its old and bust up.

  • My Ps3, and Computer are in two different room.s -__- I can't really use anything but a camera.

  • easy way : download fraps on you ps3...done

  • @Fl0wDP Is there a tutorial for downloading Fraps on the PS3??? As far as I know, FRAPS is just for windows.

  • hmm i don't thinks so..my comment was a joke

  • @flexiamoc DUDE my comment was a joke AHHA but i think the with the new updates you can do im not sure il check then il anwser you

  • @Fl0wDP I heard the new software update prevents that.

  • @Fl0wDP how do you download fraps on ps3?

  • is there a specific version of the hauppauge you used?

  • @ohDEIRdre It is just the Hauppauge HD-PVR... They send the relevant software with the kit, and you can update to the latest software versions online.

  • OMG this is a good video man thumbs up , thankyou i been searching for this information :)

  • @Kirxuto Thanks man... Hope it helps!! Any problems give me a shout!

  • @flexiamoc hey can you record mic audio (like when your talking to a friend on mw2 or something) through the haupauge? is there a setting i have to change on the ps3 or is it just not able to do it? because i was recording Ac brotherhood yesterday with me and a friend talking and the audio didnt record please help

  • my ps3 wont take that caple it dosetn even work to plug it in to a tv with it

  • @albosusa Your PS3 will take it, you tv may not. But... If your TV does HDMI, then It should have component.

  • @flexiamoc i have tried on 4 TV:s

  • @albosusa 1.. Plug the cable into the 'AV Multi Out' on the PS3... Does it fit?? If not then you have the wrong cable.

    2. Plug the RCA connectors into the back of your TV. Make sure you get the colours right, and that you don't mix up the 2 for audio with any of the three for the video.

    3. Switch on your PS3. If your screen stays blank, then you need to reset your PS3. Turn the machine off and back on again but keep the power button pressed until the PS3 beeps 3 times.

  • Can't you just put your HDMI to PC and just find devices trought moviemaker and then just use fraps :P

  • @3Six0ful the key is bypassing HDCP..... This is easiest with HDPVR from Haupppppppppppppppppppage... But.. This tutorial is several years old now. there is summat new coming.. I can't talk anymore because you arn't a crow... Even if you were a crow, there would be but three people who I would share the secret with... Vettahead, Trix, and Big Daddy K... I haven't even told them yet, but K will be the first.

  • i have HDMI and AV cable

  • So, how much will this cost me?

  • @09fieryphoenix09 Probably about 150 quid these days mate

  • So we have to have the computer right by the PS3 and TV? meh....

  • @THEchampion4 I guess it depends on how long your cable is!

  • @THEchampion4 You can also use laptop

  • what kind of name is happauge... they just couldnt called dazzle HD.. or something or TACO HD recordeer... whatever but happauge... really..

  • screw that 170 pound thats rippin my nuts off just get dazzle 40 pound and u saved ur self 130 pound easy

  • @WeQuickScopedU Dazzle doesn't record in HD you pudding!

  • will it work for a mac or does it have to be a PC

  • @TheBulletproof1080 Works with a mac.. You need to get some different software. I use HDPVR Capture google steventoth to find it.. You can also use Elgato EyeTV, but I found it a little buggy

  • Roxio makes a nice set - Creator 2011 - that comes with everything you need except the double-male RCA splitter. Get those two things, and go nuts.

  • I want to record in HD so hard but I don't have a HD tv:( Anyway your tutorials are very clean when somebody videos of like this one I don't understand but when I watch yours I have understand and clearly thank you so much:)

  • ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY 170 POUNDS! you're stupid

  • waste of money

  • @BlackedVideo its not a waste of money if u really want to record in HD

  • What is the song? Nice simply vid . Good work.

  • @SayVarRee Not sure what the song is.. It is one of those youtube audioswap things.

  • Thanks i am going to order mine on my birthday :D

  • for the happauge do u have to have a hd tv?

  • @MrrBeastMode To record and view in HD then yeah.

  • please help, can i still use my tritton headset with this?

  • @jvahdani Don't see why not... Assuming you headset is either bluetooth or usb.

The system will not record your outgoing radio chatter, but you can get the incoming stuff.

This is because the headset links directly to the PS3 so doesn't go through the HDPVR

  • whats the name of the song?? and whats this genre called? thx for tutorial it was great !

  • This is one of the best tuts on youtube thank you so much!

  • Can you use a laptop?????

    Reply soon...

  • fuck it too complicated

  • with you video looking like that I would not follow you on how to do this.

  • I have a HD PVR with only on component input, so can I for an example: Plug my ps3 to the HD PVR with an HDMI, and the HD PVR to the TV with an component or vice versa? or do I have to buy a multi-component-thingie?

  • @KoiSenritsu The hd pvr doesnt allow HDMI.. it only allows Component Which is in 1080i Which doesnt matter because most ps3 games only display in 720p

  • is it good for montages

  • doo u have to have happuagh or something like that or can u have like a shaw
