a slight correction ustad rais khan never wanted to play sitar in Indian films but it was his friend`s (madanji`s wish) which he could not reject and together they composed a lot of beautiful songs which are sung and remembered even today i have seen them rehearsing and interacting at khan saheb`s parchain apartments juhu mumbai khan saheb always used to complaint about madanji`s drinking habits a friendly fight used to ensue as far as i know rais khan saheb only played the baground for others.
