Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, and Ed Sanford deserve the credit for the melody and lyrics, but MMD owns this song. The "This Christmas Live In Chicago" performance is the most powerful here, in my opinion. The whole concert is available on DVD. Check out the 1987 clip also. You won't believe who some of the sidemen are.
