Man watching Alistair vs Werdum really made me miss Fedor.. They both went with a game plan not to do this not or that. Apart from the stupid fakes and shit the 1 or 2 times Werdum did get Alistair down properly, Alistair pulled away from the fight, Even in top position.. I know that was the safer option but thats the difference between these fighters and Fedor.. Fedor comes to fight anyhow any direction the fight goes. They are all about game plan, which makes for stick intertainment.

Barnett destroyed Rogers, was such a good fight! Silva has a good enough stand up and good enough chin to be able to stand with Overeem. If Overeem fights like he fought Werdum (backing away and waiting for the takedown so he can stuff it - like Thiago Alves) then Silva is gonna hurt him badly. I think if Barnett gets to the finals and fights Overeem he'll win in the third round by submission, if Barnett gets to the finals and fights Big Foot he'll get KO'ed.

Best example, I would love to see Nick Diaz stand in the middle of the ring and taunt GSP then knock him out but thats not going to happen, cmon. The safest bet in MMA right now is GSP cause he sticks to a gameplan and plays it safe. GSP is pretty boring but hes the best. Not everyone is Chuck Liddell.

Bigfoot Silva or Overeem ultimately it doesnt matter who wins that fight cause Barnett is going to manhandle either guy for 3 rounds or however many rounds they have for the tournament final. I agree that Overeems stocked has dropped, that fight was sloppy, but I never thought he was that good anyway. I have always said Overeem is overrated at Hw or LHw. Only time will prove me right though when he gets into the UFC.

Hey Karsten. Why do you think so many heavyweights are struggling in the cardio department? Considering how much of an effect gassing has on your ability to fight; Striking is more sloppy, can't defend take downs, can't grapple, etc, why isn't having good cardio a high priority in a training camp?

I don't think werdum was that gassed... he looked about to die in the second but was fine at the end of the third - I think he was just hoping to lure Overeem in (just like with a few of his flops) at the expense of his pride and perhaps some points with the judges by looking completely hurt/gassed in the second.

I think the Overeem vs Werdum fight is a good example why Zuffa should start with the yellow card system in both UFC and Strikeforce like they have in Japan.Ref should be able to yellow card Werdum and every other lay and prey fighter out there and force them to fight or get a 10% purse reduction for every yellow card and disqualfied after 3 yellow cards.....What do you think?? I think overeem had a decent performance, but the fight exposed some possible holes. His stamina for sure, and his chin is also suspect. I think a couple of good shots would make him quit. I'm surprised verdum didn't strike more. He had good power, and had a better chance of winning than butt scooting.

Cain, Junior, Carwin, maybe Mir would beat him right now. Thats what dumbasses like Lane dont want to even debate.

But I believe in him and he will improve. I want him to win the tournament and come to the ufc and become a ufc champion too. He just needs less "horse meat" and more cardio.

PS: Werdum/Overeem was a horrible fight, showing the two best HW's in the world are clearly JDS and Cain. Below them, there is Josh, Silva, Werdum, Overeem, Carwin, Brock & Fedor, who could all beat each other on any given night and who are almost impossible to rank in order. Josh wins the GP.
