since is improper language so we don't called it any specific language like singlish.

  • @Adomiso In Singapore , We call it as Singlish

  • 0:43 It should be "Under where?", not "underwear". It's Singlish at its finest pronunciation. :)

  • 0:43 It should be "Under where?", not underwear. It's Singlish at its finest pronunciation. ;)

  • Oh my, I do speak singlish, but not like the person in part 2!

  • • Singaporeans pronounce flour as /flɑ:/ instead of /flaʊ-ə/. The dictionary says that both American and British pronunciation is /flaʊ-ə/.

Singaporean teachers pronounce and teach their pupils to pronounce flour as / flɑ:/. And in an oral examination, if this word appears in the reading passage, the pupils who pronounce it correctly are penalised.

i'd like native speakers from England, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to post in to prove me right.

  • When traveling around Europe a few years from the USA I found other countries have taken English and adapted into their own languages. I had to listen with my mind not my ears often to understand. The effort to communicate is wonderful regardless of the language combinations. Sweet video presentation.

  • Part 2 - 99% poor Enlgish 1% Singlish.

  • @hieprock we DO know how to speak proper English ==

  • singapore children are so cute^^

  • Haha I will not change my way of speaking Singlish! =P

  • What is the name of the music used here? I've heard it before in the intelligence squared debate 1:17

  • So cuteee ahahahhha :D and funny at the same time :D

  • i think Singaporean Gorvernment has to re-educate English for all ppl in Singapore because the English in Sing is really bad! its not English, its chinlish (pronuon englishword and the way they speak like they're speaking chinese) freaking sh!t ! Singaporean has got nothing to proud with their language :))

  • @hieprock i have to agree....singaporean are so proud of singlish. I am very proud to be a singaporean but not our singlish.

  • Singlish is brilliant. It is in no way "incorrect" I think the people of Singapore should be proud of their language!

  • This is overly exaggerated singlish, please lar normal singaporeans not liddat de lor

  • Should simply delete the last bit cos Singlish IS our heritage. While others have centuries of tradition and history, what little we have of our culture should stay alive for our kids. Singlish is a full blown Creole language. Would you want the Jamaicans to stop speaking Patois? If the education system in SG can't get their heads around this, they should go shoot themselves! I'm a Singaporean in England and what a myth to say that the English all speak good English.

  • @yvone21 I agree 100% There is nothing wrng with being able to speak "correct" English when its needed but I find it very sad that Singlish is looked on as somehow sub-standard in Singapore. It is a brilliant Creole that was created for a valid reason and is still very useful. People who wish to learn about the nature of language in general have no better place to start. People who wish to learn about the people of Singapore need only study Singlish

  • @realsamwise singlish is hurting our image. is hurting this beautiful country......

  • so cute boy boy

  • You want some toe?? lolz.....XD

  • HAHA SO CUTEEE!

  • behold, for this is how English will be spoken in the future by most people on earth: Asians

  • may I ask witch movie editer you used? :)

  • Aww...they are so adorable!

  • Is it no singlish no hokkien is good?

Is it we behaviour like angmok=good?

i rather behaviour like what im, im singaporean

  • hm.. wonder y we singapore always have to make change to suit others whos come to our place

  • kiddo, why speak in singlish if there's something called english?

  • @cadeau36 because here is singapore

  • @cadeau36 @boesky37 Um, because it's a creole and perfectly valid? In my humble opinion, a language that brings together Chinese, Malay, Tamil, and English is cool. Don't knock the basilects.

  • @lasaboteuse I agree with you. In every society, there is the acrolects, the misolects and the basilects , even in America, there is the African American Vernacular which is the basilect and the General American which is the acrolect. And it is proven that Singlish is a variety of solidarity. Take it from a linguistics student here.

  • ur kids are so cute!! and funny!

  • ummm the kid himself pronounce his word wrong

  • ruin serbees funny

  • errr part 4 thanks :)

  • ROFL

  • LOL it is also in Malaysia... Chinese usually use that to communicate with the Malays.... But i use proper when communicating...

  • the 2nd part, the subs itself makes the whole thing harder to understand but, it might be true that aunties/uncles in kopitiam often pronounce things that way... ._.;;

  • It's so funny :-)

  • That is so cute. I actually worship Singlish!

  • Walao cannot like that lor :)

  • Weehhhh.... So cute leh! Looking forward to see more videos like this.... So shiok!!! ;-)

  • Eeyer exaggerate too much at the end luh D: Even I don't understand. What botter loll.

  • I kann nicht alles verstanden :)

  • @Ipang69 warum nicht? sprichst du Englisch?

  • I Saw A Rabbit Talking , Isn't it?

  • @boesky37 I just Lol'ed.

  • @boesky37

    hopefully you dont have kids.

  • @boesky37 me too. I am sure i have some singlish in me but will really like to see our young generation speak better english.

  • lmao! pry, boy, or strangle? XDD

  • i very luv you kids loh!

  • Lols, singlish is in our blood lah. And we can converse in Singlish among ourselves mah, foreigners then try speak proper english to them lor.

  • no need to cater to foreigners. if you go to france do they bother about whether u understand their ze-ze-ze english?

please make singlish our official language. i see even parents teaching their kids singlish... "ah boy ar! dont like that hor! cannot do this ok?"

anyway nice vid both of them

  • Adorable kids! We enjoyed the video immensely.

  • cool :p i would say, in my personal opinion, singlish is slightly cooler than manglish, (i'm a Malaysian) that it integrates english, malay, hokkien and such, but it's funny how the grammar is somewhat malay grammar in accordance, yet..singaporean don't speak malay... .. why ar?? but to sum it all up, CUTE ;-)

  • Your son has done a very good job. Actually, i like Singapore a lot. I also want to see what Singlish is . Since Singaporean speak different languages, it mixes up with other languages such as English. It will be an interesting phenomenon and i will take an in-depth look in it. At last, thanks for giving me such a good experience.
