At this time i was only 7 years old, but grew up with the music of the seventies...how i wish i would have been there...best music was made in this decade! It was real music....
This was the special guest band for Doldinger's jubilee. Passport plus Brian Auger, Pete York, Johnny Griffin and Alexis Korner. They gave exactly three concerts. I visited the one in Frankfurt. The one in Duesseldorf was recorded on vinyl, which of course I have.
they are happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I:)thats most important . I like when Volker begin solo and other guitarist follow him with cigar(like bank officer dressed) - I think this music is swiiiiiiiiingiiiiiiiiin.....mandagora is also swingin also one of best improvisations
El duelo entre los dos bateristas es increible!!! Parece que se desafian, al principio, pero terminan convergiendo en una sincronia ritmica tan placentera de escuchar.Y todo gracias a Capusotto.
Volker Kriegel on guitar. Korner had no clue what they were playing since he had no idea about jazz, no knowledge he was a great human being and a blues man.
Sure enough it's Volker Kriegel on guitar - pointlessly noodling along as ever. And this guy Doldinger is one of the coldest sounding musicians on this planet. Serious Kraut Jazz at work here. Where's Zawinul and Shorter when you need them...
I like German Prog Rock as well as British Prog Rock. You probably don't see this as "Krautrock", I can understand that & ironically I was thinking something similar to you when viewing this, & have wondered about the term in the past. Does it describe Just Prog Rock or ANY form of Rock music from Germany?
It's not Krautrock: though it has one of Krautrock's finest bassists (Lothar Meid) here and saxist Olaf Kubler, both involved in Amon Duul2- seminal Krautband. This is fusion though and a lot like most other bands of this genre from all over the world. Krautrock was a reinvention of German rock starting from scratch and trying to avoid sounding US or UK. This was big part of what put Kraut in a league of its own
2:it uses the term "kraut" wich often is derogetory
3: to me it seems to speak of it in a condecending way kind of like "girlrock" ie lesser ie NOT the "real" stuff ie american rock also why not just jazz or just rock or just MUSIC THERE u asked so i said
plus "fusion" always gets talked down to by jazz people who dont know WHAT THE HELL they are talking about and KLAUS DOLDINGER BURNS and serounds himself with the VERY BEST players
Bass player was Wolfgang Schmid, solo guitar was Volker Kriegel, keys was Kristian Schultze, the rythm guitarist could have been Paul Vincent Gunia maybe.

Die zwei Schiessbudenbesitzer sind super. Curt Cress erinnert mich an den Drummer von Santana in Woodstock, Soul Sacrifice.

i wish i had the power to eliminate the word "krautrock" from the world .......grr i hate it........ and mabey i should even say this
snuffelsuf 3 years ago
Why? because it does not fit your interpretation of this?
borgduck 2 years ago
A better question is :why do you defend it?

I'd say its not just about Prog Rock.
This sounds to me like some kind of Jazzrock - (though this has progressive influences) i think youre not wrong if you count this to krautrock ;)
ChrisLeeBear 2 years ago 5
no because
1: its a label
2:it uses the term "kraut" wich often is derogetory
3: to me it seems to speak of it in a condecending way kind of like "girlrock" ie lesser ie NOT the "real" stuff ie american rock also why not just jazz or just rock or just MUSIC THERE u asked so i said
snuffelsuf 2 years ago
Sorry, I was checking out other videos. But yeah, Jazz Rock is a good descriptive term as they remind me a lot of Chicago (Transit Authority).
borgduck 2 years ago
also I LOVE THIS and when i feel that its being ...cut down ..i defend it
snuffelsuf 2 years ago
I would not mind the term to "Brit Rock" to describe some British Classic Rock acts, (if it happens).

plus "fusion" always gets talked down to by jazz people who dont know WHAT THE HELL they are talking about and KLAUS DOLDINGER BURNS and serounds himself with the VERY BEST players
