Comparing 2005 to 2011, the sense of speed you get from the '05's on camera is far far greater than that of the '11's. Wow. I forgot how F1 cars were supposed to be. Say what you want about the golden years with Prost, Senna, or Fangio & Clark; those 2005 cars were supreme. A true testament to the prestige and mysticism of Formula 1.
@SPECS1992 mechanical failures and some punctures... and it's not just the car. Montoya got 52 points less than Raikkonen in 2005. Alonso and Raikkonen both won 7 GP's in 2005. I think Raikkonen was fastest not his car.
@SPECS1992 Because he retired from the lead twice (at Imola and the Nürburgring). As a result he lot 20 points and Alonso gained them. Had Kimi not retired from those two races he would have been champion with 132 points and Alonso would've had 129.
on so many raikkonen vids of 2005 there are these alonso fanboys saying he just did that good because of the car ... well just think about how he freakin destroyed montoya in the same car . ;) raikkonens raw speed was maybe the best at this time.
Every time I see vids of Kimi driving on Pole with the MP4-20, it´s stunning to see the raw power and speed of the car. Absolutely amazing ride, one of the best cars in F1 history
@Wallbreaker91 I'm a Ferrari fan but I really liked Raikkonen's driving in McLaren better. I kinda wish Kimi would've won in 2005 because then maybe he would've stayed at McLaren for a few more years and really taken Hamilton to school.
@joelc87 A team of Hamilton and Raikkonen would have been so much better than it was with Alonso. Even if he was outpaced by Hamilton, which I doubt he would have been (they would both be close though), he would handle it; he did when he was with Massa at Ferrari even though the car suited Massa (probably partly down to a certain advisor for the team).
Kimi I want you to remember that you're on air. Kimi I want you to remember to save fuel save fuel. Kimi I want you to remember to wash under your foreskin when you shower....
"remember, you're on air". :)
what would he say not being on air?

My first GP I ever watched was Monaco 2005. Kimi and the MP4/20 made such a huge impression on me that day, I haven't missed a race since.

@Ferrariman601
I also started following F1 in 2005, it made me an instant fan an underdog fin called Raikkonen.
Imo still the best driver I've seen in F1.
