  • Unforgetable JIMI'' RSRSRS Sempre JIMI''

  • @KoEDeath nope ww2 wasnt fought under false pretenses, in fact japan made the first move on pearl harbour smartarse, its called defending the way of life, as if you'd let some ppl kill your brothers and not care, get over yourself.

  • I love jimi hendrix :)

  • Los estadounidenses recibieron una maravillosa paliza por parte de los vietnamitas y por culpa de los cretinos que los gobernaban. (Por cierto, hermosa canción de The Leaves en la versión del gran Jimi Hendrix.)

  • Ok , I Wasn't In The War Or Even Born Near The 60's. But , I Do Respect Every One That Served Our Country. However, If Anyone Is Bitching About Them Or Someone They Know Being Killed Or Injured During That War, Or Any War For That Matter , Shut The Fuck Up. You Or Whoever You Are Bitching About Signed Their Body Away When They Signed.

  • @WhosSwaggin Ever heard of being DRAFTED? i guess not. and i think they can talk all they want about there friends who died serving. obviously you dont respect every one who served.

  • @slave537 Read The 2nd Sentence , You Ass BackWards Fuck. And Quite Frankly , I Do Respect Them. But If They Bitch And Moan About Being Hurt , I Feel No Pitty.

  • @WhosSwaggin thats not respecting you "Ass Backwards Fuck".

  • @slave537 I Ain't Gonna Respect You If You Ain't Gonna Respect Me. But Like I Said , I Do Commend You And I Am Very Gracious For ANYONE Who Served. But Not Assholes.

  • IF YOU WEREN'T IN THE WAR PERSONALLY THEN DONT COMMENT ABOUT WAR ETC, they fought the damn conflict today's rich arse kids are just annoying in how they talk about this and that, cant even hold a gun, puny kids

  • @starkillerob u got it totally right bro !! i wasnt in vietnam but served in the british army in sierra leone / kosovo/ 2x tours iraq and 2 x tours afghanistan so i have seen war close up and personal and until you have experienced it yourself no one has a right to knock the veterans of any conflict !!! remember war is not like it is on x box !! so all u little rich kids keep your opinons to your selfs to u have earned the right to comment !! 2 BAT PARA REG BRITISH ARMY

  • Disturbing video footage. I learned about Vietnam in high school. My dad was in ww 2. I wouldn't want to be in either. God bless our veterans.

  • this is the best karaoke song

  • is anyone else feeling that epic soul touching your heart with the gentle yet sharp guitar vibrations?

  • Untill you meet someone from South Vietnam, everything around you will tell you the Americans were the bad guys in this war.

Get some real perspective before you post a comment to this video.

  • A powerful song, sung by the great jimy hendrix during such a turbulent time in history. I, would also like to pay respect to all of the service men, who served during the vietnam war. Thank you, & I preserve your memories in my collection

  • PLEASE check out my cover in the Video Responses above!

  • You are a fucking coward dick wad. Yes I killed civilians I watched people get torched every fucking day. What about you Mr innocent? A fucking coward that is afraid to serve his Country? Are you gay you mother fucker? I thought so dick wad. I am proud of the fact that I fought for this Country you cherry ass mother fucker. Fuck with me and see what happens Boy!

  • @MrSemperfi151 at this point I'm really hoping your just a troll because it sickens me to think an adult would actually talk that that. I also don't care that you were in the war, doesn't give you permission to be a total D-bag

  • @MrSemperfi151, my father was a 1st LT. grunt in Vietnam, and he loved this country and it's music, not to mention the freedoms of people to say what they think or feel. Just remember you are a PROUD Marine that served so that these people can talk shit about the country that protects them as they piss on everything that "offends" them!

  • my favorite song

  • I was there and I remember that this was the first time I heard this song or Jimi. Wow, I id with that song so much ...just the gun in your hand thing....its long been a favorite song.....kontum 1969

  • @deankyle08 c-c-c-c-c-c-ombo breaker.

  • Well where exactly did we get with guns in our hands...? Fu@king nowhere. We need to rise up against the war machine. Look after your children people & stay safe.... Shalom.

  • Do a little research about power mongers, bankers and war. Everyone is a victim, our troops, their troops, civilians. Fat Cat Wars!!! For corporate takeovers with their own private bullies now.

  • vietnam war was not pointless. Iraq war? Yes.

  • The Veit-Nam War wasnt senseless. We needed to go to war, If we didnt we'd be fighting all of Korea instead of just half of it... People in America were just to scared to go to war. Just like WW2.... God bless the soldiers who fought for us!....

  • Don't make accusations about Nam' if you weren't even there

  • served in Germany, when "the war" was actually more in Laos...

  • fuck jane fonda, american communist bitch!

  • Am I the only person that finds it ironic that Jimi Hendrix was a paratrooper in Viet Nam BEFORE he was a rock star?

  • @sevenfingers2001 he never got deployed (medical discharge broke his ankle on a practice jump)

  • It's my humble opinion that he is really just talking about a cheating woman

  • funny ....this song was written long before vietnam

  • All that I hear about is negative reactions against the Viet-Nam war. The majority of you punk ass little bitchs were not even born in the 60.s. War machine fucking tool? Who the fuck are you to speak out bitch boy? I was there punk! So you little fucking cross dresser go out with your bitch ass boyfriends who are also anti-war cowards. Fuck off punk ass!

  • @MrSemperfi151 Right on my brother. Couldn't said it better myself.

  • @MrSemperfi151 I would like to personally thank you for your service buddy!!!! With out you guys, life for the rest of would me much much different!!!!

  • @MrSemperfi151 the vietnam war was pointless, fair doos if you're fighting for the safety of your country as in ww1 and ww2 but fighting because some yanks in the white house were paranoid about the spread of communism didn't warrant war, neither did any of the WMD lies warrant the iraq war, needless killing.

  • @MrSemperfi151 war is old men talking and young men dying...war is nothing to support...i rather be a anti-war coward than a power hungry dick.

  • @MrSemperfi151 You sound like a mean old grump. The type of old neighbor. who doesnt throw the football back over the fence. Are you suffering from PTSD? I heard that Nam was one of the ugliest and least necessary atrocities that happened. Its any ones God given right to speak out against rich nazi pedophiles sending poor men to die for their fucked up fantasies.... well at least you came back alive. But your attitude sucks. Namaste old bro.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 If your calling Lyndon Johnson a nazi you are mistaken sir, Vietnam was not necessary but It happened and there is no point of arguing about it no just learn from it.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 Fuck off man. He fought for your freedom, and he is tired of little punks like you who are not thankful for his service.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 Hes not saying that it was a honorable war, hes saying he joined the army and was drafted to that hell hole. And lived, so he tired of being spitted on by people who dont know what went down.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 Vietnam war wasn't unnecessary. You north amercians protected south vietnamese of the north bullies who were invading them.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 you're generalising mate, thats not a good attitude, not all nazis were evil at all, some even conspired to topple the nazist regime, think about that bud.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 Maybe the war was not necessary. But he was a soldier who served us. That speaks volumes about what kind of person he is and we should be grateful he sacrificed his time, energy, and risking his life for us. We should honor our troops, but we don't have to praise war.

  • @EnlightenedYouth8 the man is right irak the same they sent the same amont of bombs in 24hour then viet nam war for what so the laden family could build new roads or afganastan the biggest producer of opium since we move in

  • @MrSemperfi151 You come off as young, immature and naive. If you are what you claim to be then work on your appearance. If not...then it's no surprise to me.

  • @MrSemperfi151 you don't have to be there to know it is horrible in ways you'll obviously never understand since you have even seen and still hold a love afair with your guns and war no matter how old you are your still the punk with your gun

  • @MrSemperfi151 I have nothing against the soldiers. They help us get her, but war is mainly pointless now. Losing people you know to help a country that doesn't want help is not worth it,obviously. So, Just because someone doesn't agree with your ways doesn't mean you have to make yourself look immature and tell him off. Also if you don't like the artist why is someone,I'm presuming in their 50s,coming onto the video to talk crap. Chill out man. Nam didn't have to happen.

  • @MrSemperfi151 Just because you got tricked into going to massacre and ruining your life, Doesn't give you the right to rage on you-tube.

  • @MrSemperfi151 i am not negative but i just say the US made some stupid msitakes, but dont blame the soldiers who fought in vietnam they were send there by there generals en the us goverment

  • @MrSemperfi151 yeah tell me about positive things about the vietnam war ........like raping Vietnamese people a napalm them for no reason........you and your mother fucker friends go to hell..............Muhammad Ali had the guts refuse to go Vietnam but you and your cowards apparently not so shut the fuck up ..........

  • @MrSemperfi151 Fuck yeah America! And we wonder why the rest of the world thinks were ass holes.

  • @MrSemperfi151 OOORAH Devil Dog!

  • @MrSemperfi151 I'm 15 and I agree with everything you just said

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSemperfi151 Hey man, most people are speaking out against unnecessary war, not the troops. We all respect the troops for their sacrifice. Because of that respect, we don't want them to lose their lives unless absolutely necessary. Being anti-war isn't any more cowardly than saving the Marine's life next to you on the front lines. Different methods, same goals.

  • @MrSemperfi151 I... You need some acid... thats all i have to say

  • @MrSemperfi151 I am anti war because every war ever fought by America has been fought under false pretenses not to mention the gain that banks get out of these wars funding them, sure you were in the war but you are just as ignorant as the people you are bashing. i will not risk my life to fight for something i do not believe in to make the "Fat Cats" More profit.. (19yrs)

  • @MrSemperfi151 P.S. Did you enjoy your time as a corporate pawn? :) (i kid i respect soldiers such as yourself and welcome home!)

  • What the fuck. Everyone just listen to the fucking hendrix music. You think he would've wanted us to be distracted by the world's problems?

  • Its truly unfortunate that despite all of this generations music about peace and equality, you are all speaking horribly about this great country that I serve, and to you speaking so poorly towards America, try not to forget what Jimi performed at Woodstock

  • @BusTILLoS42 You serve bankers and weaponry manufacturing you fucking tool

  • Everywhere America has walked into, they have either got their ass kicked by another country, or mucked up another country.

  • My old man goes by Joe.

  • sup jimi

  • bellissimo!

  • God Bless you, Tony, and those who fought one of the most tragic wars of our time...I am only 31, but I am with you, always have been. ~Sarah

  • -He overcame the young Vietnamese who looked to be a Boy younger even than himself, two "children" fighting a War that neither belonged in, as he gripped his sidearm (as he had just been recruited by the 5th Special Forces to be a "Tunnel Rat" as he was only barely peaking at 5'3" at the time) which was now pointed at the boys head, the boy laid his hands palms together, directed a grateful gaze into my husbands eyes and bowed slightly, to meet his end. This event has always stuck with me.

  • My husband, in combat training, was hunkered down in a bunker when he looked up a read "JAMES HENDRIX was HERE- 101st Airborne" , nothing really big deal, I just love and miss my Husband and he was so proud when he told that lil' blip of what was to become the most harrowing experience he ever could have lived through, he was only 15 his first tour in country, on his Birthday a week after he got in country he experienced his first hand to hand combat in the black silt choked waters of the Mekong

  • This was a national disgrace.Heavily armed young men not behaving like professional soldiers, were listening to this music whilst drug affected on LSD and Cannabis. These same men would patrol and ambush in this state..Hendrix and the Doors have a lot to answer for..... and by now you can tell how fuckin jelous I am hey?

  • 0:00 use this and give the replay button a break

  • @SamzGuitarMusic Thanks =)

  • @SamzGuitarMusic i wasnt around for it i was born in 83 but i respect all of u ppl that went over to that scummy ass place and batteled to stay alive thank you for doing what u do to keep us safe and anyone who has shit to say about our nam troops u can go to hell.............. THIS GUY SUPPORTS THE TROOPS 10000000000% NO MATTER WHAT.

  • @25patchy25

Scummy ass place? Bit harsh isn't it? Poor korea, they've still got all the burn marks. children with missing limbs and mutation. People do visit Korea ya know? Its not uncommon for a child in that country to be mutated. Children get born into shit hole's like that, except for it was that very war that turned it into such a hell hole.

But yeah you're right. poor american soilders, poor america! *roll's eyes*

  • You'd think the hell unleashed on the cities and jungles of Vietnam would have left the country barren.

  • I'm from czech Republic sorry behind my Anglish

  • @Axmedkoole no they didnt the NVA won

  • 11 V.C disliked this amazing song

  • It goes to show? the (then) Gi´s replay those tunes forever associated with that (is it already that, or is yet this) war?

  • well done. I think the images and music are perfect together,

  • Cool video shows the truth about the shit that was Vietnam with Jimi's wonderful song. Very connected and relevant, everyone else can go fuck themselves.

  • It could be related to vietnam. Joe being the U.S, the lady being Vietnam, the other man the USSR. Or it could be about a psycho called joe who just shot his wife

  • Uplifting song

  • The video sucks...JIMI served his time in Vietnam...get it together man don't use Jimi like this you shame yourslef.

  • @pinchyvato Hendrix was considered a subpar soldier and discharged after only a year. He even spoke of his dislike for the Army in interviews. Hardly a flag waver.

  • ive bin myself in libanon 1981 vn dutchbatt,i got a lot of respect for the soldiers figthing in a lost war, vietnam, grt jos

  • 82nd ABN

  • I believe Jimmy was in the 101 airborne division and broke his leg during a trg jump.

  • @cadidilac - According to Wikipedia, Jimi was caught on more than one occasion

  • ja, but thiese peapole live this war time with this song. Imagine....... you in our house now..... with this song remembering when u are in the jungle.....M16 ........ Imagine...........

  • Hendrix was in the Vietnam War. Someone correct me.... but I believe he did a couple tours. Went back for that good heroine............

  • @cadidliac Ya. He was also one of the first green berets. I think he helped catch Saddam Hussein too. Pretty amazing for a heart surgeon and former president of the USA.

  • great job real pro will wait for your movie tbone

  • dunno im a brit i was in Isreal instead still woke me up to music beyond the accepted tunes of the time christ i even named my son after that wonderful track

  • me i just think its a good tune

  • And please stop making this personal, I just wanted to react to the nihilistic comments that are often made on these sites. Your argumentation is fine, but things like "You did not do your homework", shouldnt be in a normal and proper discussion. I am against any war that is fought, and I sympathise with all victims of war. I just want to make clear that I will always question the gouvernment's actions, and it would be a great gesture if America tries to repare the damage that is done in vietnam

  • @irishbroog92 I apologized for the generalization, so if people please could stop base their arguments on that citate. But I do not hear any reaction on the american politics, which is my essential part of the argumentation. I think we should all realise that we must stop fighting wars on our own, and we should conduct this war well. Shooting innocent people and dropping chemical mess, is a violation of human rights aswell. The USA rejected to refund all the damage done. Improper conduct.

  • '' Hey Joe '' was a lil before the war, but anyways great video

  • i dont know if you know, but this is not jimis song. its just a cover he did... as did Deep Purple..and many others...

  • @kivinprod no one cares bro

  • I didn't know that Capetown was in South Africa.I thought it was in thr New England States.I guess that was Cape Code..LoL

  • Well like Capetown99 said.Jimi did dedicate Machine gun to the war but Hey Joe had nothing to do with the Vietnam war

  • @willie6185 did you know that capetown is in south africa.

  • @Zylo587

Exactly, Easier to defend the NPT than have children around the world practice "Duck and Cover" (Disney's version is surreal) Did you see Charlie Rose interview Larijani? Trivia: His brother Ali is speaker, Sadegh is Head of the security council. *opinion*? Do you think Ahmadinejad's aides were indicted solely on financial corruption?

  • I know it was during the Vietnam war but Jimi was anti war. That was during my era and I realize a lot of those songs were during that time. Thanks for your response.

  • @willie6185 Most people aren't pro-war, but realize it is necessarily.

  • @willie6185... What does this song mean to you?

  • @janx1979... and not asking other peoples opinions, just yours.

  • @willie6185

i think most men whove been to war are anti war, thats the probem with todays states. The leaders dont do military service so they dont know what they are asking folk to sacrifice. If george bush junior had been to war himself would he heck have started the iraq war!

  • I couldn.t agree more with you my bother

  • @willie6185 he served in the vietnam war

  • Jimi would roll over in his grave if he knew that the Vietnam war was related to this song

  • @willie6185

I think the person who uploaded the video just wanted to relay some of the images of the time, rather than directly connect the song to Vietnam. Having said that, Vietnam veterans today say they remember listening to Hey Joe and Purple Haze when they were there, so in many ways its is relevant. He dedicated his song Machine Gun to the soldiers in Vietnam.

  • Hello Jan1979.If you listen to the lyrics it says (gone out to shoot my old lady,I caught her messin around with another man).It has to do with a personnel relationship.Has nothing to do wit Vietnam

  • @willie6185 if you know so much how about this maybe he was a vietnam vet came home and his lady was cheating every song means something different to everyone unless you asked jimi and i doubt that

  • @MegaMac9999 I'll agree with u. I was their in '68-'69 and my crewchief Scottie's wife got knocked up back home. He had been in Nam 10 1/2 months. So this song does relate to a lot of us who went their. These to some of us was worse than being there.

  • @alvill48 I was in the Army 71-73 and my old lady was shacked up with some scumbag when I got home. Good ridance to bad garbage.

  • @capetown99 Jimi just represents the time period perfectly, and the war was one of the biggest events of the time period, soooo why not put them together?

  • @capetown99 u think too much

Float your little mind , set it free... Listen to the notes and drift away upon them.

  • @willie6185 I think that he sang about the Vietnam war

  • wow, and to think that almost everybody in my school classes have shitty artists on their iPods... (Classic Rock FTW) Also im tired of video games stereotyping weapons and rate of fire, the m14 had full auto capabilities but black ops made it single fire, and the m16 wasnt even a burst fire weapon to begin with!

  • @toontown13579 does everyone in your school like dubstep because everyone in mine does and its so fucking annoying

  • Thanks to social media propaganda today's youth thinks we are supposed to be fighting these third world countries in order to better the American way of thinking and way of life.

  • We americans are as easily bamboozled by our leaders as yo. - Vietnam is so '70s Next hotness is drone strikes on Iranian missile building facilities and reporting it as an accident.

  • @iiiears Unlike Vietnam, Iran has/will have nukes. Let me tell you, that brings people to the bargaining table.

  • @Zylo587

Um..Yeah, but if they gave up their nuclear materials like gaddafi we could drone strike them with impunity. /s (Dec. of last year If i remember correctly - suez canal required permission to move radilogical materials.)

  • @iiiears You should go ask them to hand over the nukes. That ought to work.

  • @Zylo587 Exactly! I don't think they have forgiven us for Mossadegh. They would like to form a new trade block. Hard currency and not trade for dollars.

  • @iiiears The reasons Iran hates us.

    1. Supported an allied invasion of the country during WWII, even though the country was not in the Axis.

    2. Supported a British-led boycott of Iranian oil.

    3. Actively participated in a coup against democracy.

    4. Supported the brutal, fascist-like shah.

    5. Supported Saddam during the Iran-Iraq war.

    6. Gave Iraq chemical weapons.

    7. Prevented the UN from investigating Iraqi war crimes.

    8. Shot down a passenger plane.

    9. After some Iranians mourned the 9/11...

  • @Zylo587 Certainly a comprehensive list. Our news services leave us tragically unprepared to make an informed choice. They fear the truth and losing access to politicians for the next "big" story. History and context are important and i believe Iran is gathering nuclear materials to protect themselves from the U.S. and Israel and form a trade block. Nuclear proliferation is humanities psychosis. Our politics must change. to act like stone age villagers will kill us all.

  • @Zylo587 That was a very honest list of reasons why Iran hates us. And i agree with you, it is a shame that we have this kind of relationship with such a powerful islamic country. But at the same time we have to support our own governement's decision making sometimes because they are looking out for the interest of the American way of life. Sure it may be an imperfect system but then again what system is in politics?

  • @rikohp23 I think the worst sin the USA committed during the Cold War was destroying democracies that our allies didn't like, or seemed somewhat socialist, and replacing them with fascist-modeled despots. These actions were based on fear, not protecting the American way of life. If you really think your government did all that to protect you, then ask yourself, "what threat could Grenada, Guatemala and Vietnam pose to the United States?"

  • @Zylo587 Though i can see how you mightve understood it that way...I wasnt referring to military threats from another nations. To me, protecting the American way of life is maintaining a balance in the global resources that benefits our economy. Sure i hate to see innocent people die, but i also understand the measures that governments have to take to secure their portions of vital resources especially with countries that attempt to exclude us from them.

  • @Zylo587 Very complete, most people dont' realize your number 3 there. Having said that they are still a bunch of crazies.

  • @rowdy031125 People just don't know. We need more aggressive history teachers.

  • 6th reason is a load of bullcrap the US never gave Iraq Chemical weapons or WMD's
