  • Since when is Dalwood in Lismore? But then again, it is just a hole, so it's fairly similar ;)

  • Great job mate! How did Australia end up with so many oddly named places? Are they Aborigine in origin?

  • @gigantibyte Yes, you've guessed the obvious! Clever thinking, Yank!

  • @1001orpheus I'm Canadian, eh. People think we're slow, eh.

  • @gigantibyte Riight.

  • TELSTRA

  • Mr999haja said Johnny Cash wrote this song. He is completely wrong. Geoff Mack wrote both the original and American versions of this song. Johnny Cash did record the song (never a hit version, however) but he had nothing to do with writing either version. Mr999haja can call me all the times he wants, but he is still wrong and his immaturity makes his comments all the more sad. A few minutes of searching would prove to Mr999haja that Australian Geoff Mack is the writer of both versions.

  • I love Australia :D

  • The Lucky Starr version was, indeed, the very first version of the Geoff Mack penned song. Geoff wrote the song in 1959, but it wasn't recorded by anyone until Lucky recorded it in May of 1962 for Festival Records. The U.S. hit version came out by Canadian born Hank Snow after Geoff wrote the U.S. lyrics as well as the original Australian lyrics. A Lucky Starr American version came out in the states in October of 1962, but by then the Hank Snow version had already caught on. Great both ways.

  • im ten yrs old i fuckin love this song

  • aussies, pissin on americans since... ever.

  • australia officially has the funniest place names in the world :D

  • Ettalong is on the Gosford peninsula, just north of Sydney

  • @KhanTezcan I can assure you that I don't know whether it is Ettalong mate, this vid took so blinking long to make and the pics took a long time to find. Have a look at Rolf's English place name one. I had mastered the speed of the song/pic add by the time I had had a go at thisw one

  • Not dissing Johnny Cash or Hank Snow but for me, this version is better. The aboriginal names of the townships seem to roll off the tounge better and create more of a "rhythm" when spoken fast (and I'm American)

PS: I'd love to meet a trucker like that one.

  • lol i was humping my own bluey???

  • @prettygirlrock46 Means he was carrying his swag down the road xP

  • @janeandbellarock6789 it maybe not that version but it IS the original version where he goes to Darwin, Gin Gin, Deniliquin, Muckadilla, Wallumbilla, Boggabilla, Kumbarilla and many more Aussie places which sound so much cooler than ... Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota .... get mah drift? ;~)

  • @janeandbellarock6789 cunt australia is better than america

  • we've got great names for places in Australia

  • 1:50 hehe i know that place

  • Much Much better than Johny Cash. Awesome!!!!!

  • @yaronkl

I'd of loved for the MIB to do the Aussie version for comparison :)

  • @emanon86 yeh, that would have been awesome RIP Mr Cash

  • Excellent presentation! This song is the best. Lucky Starr sings it the best.

  • @nicko455 and Bendigo and Gin Gin is in QLD

  • Sure like the names of the towns in Australia. The towns look like they would all be a nice place to visit. Thanks for the video, Georgia. To my favorites. Hope Hank Snow won't be upset with me. he! he!

  • Soo much better than the yank version!

  • Unreal :)

  • @wildmandazza

    Well kewl kobber

  • This is fecking hilarious! Thank you!

  • @klambify

    Happy to oblige

By the way what is the Golo sign representing?

  • I dont get the ending, Hes like "Okay mate you've been every place except one, and ya dont need my help to get there" I dont get that, whats that mean?

  • been to heaven

  • maybe seeing as Halloween will be soon upon us ... it means (spooky organ) HEEEEELL

  • O.e XD

  • No where, in other words he's chucking him out of his truck in the middle of no where.

  • @999663isback - 'stuffed'. Like he can get stuffed, like he is now he has been kicked out of the truck

  • I think it's a play on "you can go to hell"

  • @999663isback he doesn't sing that he has been to Oodnadatta, which is where he was going so the truckie chucked him out.

  • @edaj84 No ... the truckie got sick of this bloke bragging and actually "the one place" is f****d.

  • @roseanne74 don't think so 'cos why would he not need help to get there?

  • @Rikkyhardo The comment is actually "And you don't need MY help to get there" ...and the emphasis IS on the MY ... guess that truckie wasn't gay!!

  • @roseanne74 true but ... isn't the only place he hasn't been possibly Hell, and perhaps the guy is that bad that he is going to hell without any one's help like

  • @Rikkyhardo the one place he hasn't been is "out'... as in. 'get out'....

  • wyongs lucky star

  • Great memories, it brings back thoughts of places that I haven't been to in 30 or 40 years.

    LUCKY STARR

  • its a hole

  • were can i get a copy of this song i cant find it to download it help please

  • This is actually the original version recorded. I believe that lucky may have played a part in writing it in Australia.

  • Not bad. its quite funny actually but jhonny cash's version is still better in my opinion

  • not bad not bad atol , johnny cash's version is alot better though ,

  • HA , GRONG GRONG is so small they should have just called it "GRONG"!. At least their not KURRI KURRI !!! LOL

  • lol your missing quite a few places in the pics.. but good effort :D

    *******

    Lloyd.

  • Came back to hear again*****

    Thank you geena for sending.

  • WOODENBONG!..go tha mighty bong!..

  • It was all going so well and then it ended with a clown. Ten months and £20,000 of therapy down the bloody drain - I'll have to book up a trip to the trick cyclist pronto after that. I've been to Jindabyne too, but I'll have to take another trip to see the rest!

  • yer right he hasnt been to mount morgan yet lol!!!!

  • A great Aussie version! Loved it*****S

    Thank you geena for sending.

  • Aussie version? its the original version....

  • no its not the original version...the original is an american version by either johnny cash or hank snow

  • no its not.. look it up.. it was written by an australian and then brought over to america.

  • @elzilcho111 no it aint, this is original version, intended for aussie towns sung by an aussie artist, and not by a copycat artist :P

  • Good one and Hank would be proud that there are other versions. Thanks for sharing, Georgia.

  • I think Hank already knew, as his version was written by Geoff Mack (the guy who originally wrote and performed the song in 1959), after Lucky Star made it famous enough to be wanted in the States. ^^;

  • Haven't heard that in a long time but very good, good job done on it.Thank you.....thanks Geena for sending to me

    worth a 100*stars..........Colin.

  • Sorry to hear that we saw a lot of the destruction by those fires on the news too many deaths and displacement its so different over here a few inches of snow, and were blinkin pulled to a stop !!!

  • I'll give you props for the image editing, but not for the reference to Rolf Harris. This is not Rolf singing, it is Lucky Starr from 1962.

  • Blimey mate ... your very very right ... what a cock up, don't know quite what to do as it has a pic of a Rolf album at the start, do you think I should pull it or what? I will definitely change the title ... thanks for telling me ... I will now do a furious search for Rolf's version ... I noticed he mentions towns in England :~(

  • Impressive! I love travel, so the Rolf Harris song and the accompanying images were really appealing to me. Thanks for putting them together. :-)

  • oh ... and thanx for the rating

  • so i take it you been to a few places then

    Hell is next for you

  • Blimey you jumped on this vid quick ... it had only been uploaded five minutes ... good on ya cobber
