  • nice, thanks for posting

  • starts on gas, runs on diesel? Thats really neet!

  • you should make some temporary "zoomies" just make those primary tubes longer and make them at an angle that doesnt allow water to get in them. it would sound pretty cool IMO.

  • love it. also love how you tell a job by how much beer it will cost. lmfao, your a good man

  • Thats pretty cool how it starts on gas then runs on diesel, it'd be interesting to have an engine like that in a car, but can run on either fuel full time

  • dave u tha man, keep up tha great videos.

  • How many watt generator is that?

  • siamesed exhaust ports?

  • i agree with these dudes dave. your manifold is the nicest part of that thing. i want to see a restore!

  • lol ok I don't think it's "American muscle" if it's made by volvo witch is Sweedish hahaha

  • @radar3699 Its not a Volvo dozer, a tuber sent the emblem to dave for him to stick it to the dozer

  • Dave, you should have a gaurd on that grinder before disc meets dick

  • I wonder if il be able to go out there one day?

  • do this with no headers!

  • make a video of the car at 10:56

  • haha I know it's a diesel and from the 1950s but LOL only 180 hp

  • @radar3699 seriously. My friggin electric toothbrush has 180HP.

  • Great editing. All these terrible videos on Youtube with minutes of nothing for seconds of good video, but you got it right.

  • @indydriver80 has a lot of experience editing video lmao....

  • Used ATF fluid with a touch of mineral spirits will replace diesel.

  • job well done

  • A 5 beer job? Man of my own heart. Great job Dave. Nice to see people get back to the basics and do things for themselves.

  • @Mork007 I've always built my own things. My furniture (besides my couch) are all handbuilt.

  • nice ksf 250

  • I get a kicker out of how your sitting on a jerry can while welding.

  • 1:22 SWIG!!!

  • 4 exhaust ports, so kind of like a chev 235 inline 6?

  • Dave got his hands on it and we will all dead and that thing is still out and going.

  • nice job on that.

  • turn the flap around

  • that old ih sounds great now, cant beat old machines they'll last a lifetime

  • so dose it have spark plugs for when it starts on gas or what or how dose it start on gass

  • god damn fucking fuck!! fuck the haters you can all suck my dick. say that to my face you prick.

  • Im surprised you weld like that, it hurts when it pops and gets on you

  • i learned more in this video then i did in 3 years of auto mechanics in school

  • You should spend a whole day cleaning the dozer and repaint it.

  • @tatethompson1234 a restoration would be nice to see done daves way

  • @tatethompson1234 i aggree.. sand and grind and repaint tremclad yellow or caterpillar yellow and black vinyl seat and lots or grease on the tank treads

  • it sounds a lot healthier now compared to what it use to be. Im glad to see you have another channel too, I was missing your video's

  • LOL awesome tip Dave always sit on a haas tank while welding (don't do that) xD

  • Be sure to be safe, make sure to sit on a gas tank while welding! =D

  • Id sandblast that dozer and throw a fresh coat of paint on it!

  • Glad to see you back David, kinda missed you ^^ greetings from Belgium

  • Zeelul1 deasel is more lubrecant so if u put gas in. It will run for a min and seize iv seen it happen to a brand new car

  • that fcker will last forever

  • hey dave question for you. i know if you put diesel fuel in a gas car the car dies. but what if you put gas in a diesel?

  • @Zeelul1 If you put diesel in a gas car ,she can't run or if she runs she smokes an runs like shit ( depend on the fuel/diesel ratio is there in the tank) ,you have to drain the tank and clean the spark plugs But if you put gas in a diesel car in some cases it can damage the injection pump because diesel lubricate the pump and the gas no .

  • @grosteph58 Thanks bud

  • good job dave

  • good work, you are great......

  • dave should have just done a straight pipe off each exhaust manifold lol :)

  • Awesome video

  • I think it looks better with no hood.

  • Comment removed

  • @grasscutter88 It sure does, and since it is an old engine, it could cope through rain and snow with no hood, since there are no electricals to die. Take the hood off a 2011 engine, leave it through a tiny rain shower, and the electrics would be killed.

Don't make things like they used to!

  • I don't know why, but that think starting up has always given me goosebumps!! Fantastic work Dave, glad to see some love for the old beast :)

  • what were the gauges that are missing for?

  • Dave you are a Mechanical Genius!

  • I think the next project should be painting the dozer!

  • Not gunna lie.. Dave's a naked bad ass!!

  • Redneck welding: A gas can full of explosive vapor makes a perfect seat for welding.

  • build it into a tank for the zombie apocalypse!

  • dave i really like this long video i hope you do more in the near future

  • lol welding while sitting on a jerry can sounds like me

  • chuck norris's brother..

  • i like how u can make such good welds with only one hand

  • nothing like welding naked while sitting on an empty plastic gas can. I cant even weld with sandels on without getting burned.

  • OMG this is the real dave becuz at 5:50 the tanker is there he didnt have it back then

    BIG BIG FAN DAVE.....

  • so did is sound any better

  • That's a 12.3 L inline six, whoa

  • Who needs exhaust at Davidsfarm?

  • your an amazing mechanic dave .

  • Don't burn your doodle Dave.

  • how much horsepower do you think that american muscle engine is making dave? Would be one hell of an engine for a car

  • @stevensj13 my guess would be 180 hp.

  • @Davidsfarmlives Wow, I woulda thought a lot more than that! I guess it makes real good torque then

  • @Davidsfarmlives Forget horsepower. How much torque do you think it's making?

  • @stevensj13 it needs the torque alot more then horsepower hence its made for pushin and pulling

  • @stevensj13 I'd put 'er into a wheelin rig. About 180 hp, but it's a 700+ cubic inch torque monster.

  • That's the same bulldozer used on 'Back to the Future".

  • Sounds a lot better now run some diesel in it now

  • the dozer is looking really shabby needs a bit of a cleanup

  • Damn that was a good vid! If I'd been there I'd a run to the nearest petrol station for some diesel and given you it for free just to see that beauty go!

  • Haha, that's funny start to a video. ''But, we're both naked! I'm talking about me and my dozer'' <-- I don't know how it's written if thats wrong but funny though. And a nice video anyway.

  • shoot some paint on that exhaust manifold, grab a can of header paint. I use 3/16 lot myself so I understand its going to take a long time to rust, but might aswell shoot it flat black since you did all that work to it. Keep the videos coming dave. I've never once cared or listened to anything the haters ever had to say. Been a fan since the "why I'm cheap" 3 part series. You rock.

  • Nice work on the exhaust!

    Paint job next? :)

  • u should put that cab thats right next to it on it

  • dave, i was watching this one for the 10th time and I noticed around 1:00 you were getting a little short of breath. i hope your not getting a bad heart or something. maybe you should have a check up if you havent 1 recently.

  • @DoubleEntendreSongs just getting old. i feel great.

  • @Davidsfarmlives I am glad to see your back dave! I have a reason to come to youtube again.

  • @Davidsfarmlives i love how your sitting on a gas can while welding

  • @kawibbyrule thats my favorite part too. Wait a minute... this is the wrong friggin video to start favoriting parts considering Dave is naked!

  • Thanks for another informative video Dave; Question - when the dozer's engine's running on gas, are the injectors also injecting fuel oil into the cylinders? Is that the black smoke coming out (unburnt or partially burnt diesel fule oil?) Thanks!

  • Hey Dave, I see there are some gages missing on the bulldozer, what are they? Maybe it is still possible to find them...

  • yea kitfugl shut up

  • I didn't know you were back up and running Dave! Glad i found you!

  • "What?!!? We're both naked!"

    TMI moment....>_>

  • sounds way better

  • Good job! Now new paint, and keep it in good working order! Regards outta POLAND. You've got some skills :D GOOD JOB

  • PAINT THE DOZER K A W A S A K I GREEEEEEEN

  • Awesome

  • ive wanted to see this forever, finally fixing the dozer.

  • that old muscle deserves some new paint dave!!

  • when it is running on diesel, crack the fuel lines one at a time, if it changes the way the engine runs, the cylinder is running well, if it has no effect on the way the engine runs, you have a dead hole

  • dave does it spit out raw fuel when it just running on gas???

  • Cool video dave, lots of detail and the mans got skills :)

  • great video glad to see the beast back up and running snow will be hear before you know it

  • injector leaking or stuck semi open is a possibility, Symptoms: white smoke while running, fuel from exhaust.

  • Is the mig welder strong enough for that stuff?

  • Could u do a video of that other loader

  • For as long as I've been watching your channel on youtube, the exhaust leak that dozer had always bothered the hell out of me. Thanks for fixing it.

  • dave what kind of welder do you use?

  • now ya don't make "all" new parts, i seem to recall you buying a new clutch when you blew it trying to go up skyhill

  • @ChuckNoarus yes, i know.

he is also one of god's children and did his time. in 1998 they put a meter on his penis to prove he is all better.

he does not deserve to be abused by his dad and other people. dave is a good person that brings joy to the world. even the people that don't like him probably have a smile on their face as they type a mean comment.

  • Man, its been awhile (and several YouTube user names.,.) since I;ve seen a good, ole fashioned LONG "watch Dave Fix-it" video...There is something relaxing about these kinda videos, no homo, Even though I live in da suburbs of chicago and only see tractors on TV and sometimes on the highway, its good to see someone worjk their way thru a problem without spending a buncha money. Nice vid, Dave...

  • Good job on the project! Looks good! Wash down that motor though!

  • u need to paint it a bright color. !!!

  • sucks you ran out of diesel...i wanna hear that baby REALLY pur like she was meant to :)

  • Sounds good Dave

  • Sounds better than it did before. awsome work dave

  • Cool old dozer. Nice job on making replacement parts. I doubt if any parts could really be found for it since it's so old.

  • Do you let it run on gas before you shut it back off?

  • dave, your welding while sitting on a gas can... LOL

  • what kinda mileage you get lol

  • Its you at your best mate, good video.

  • Wait... It runs on gasoline and diesel? :O

  • @clumpy12

gasoline usually just to start it...makes it easier without block heaters, glow plugs, intake heaters, or ether. He briefly explains it in the video you just watched...

  • @clumpy12 It starts on fuel and runs on diesel .

  • I just want to see that thing run over that stupid car sitting next to it :)

  • Why did you make a box type manifold, wouldn't a header make more power? Or maybe create an exhaust manifold that will allow you to run a turbocharger.

  • working while nude lol well i like being naked too but never while working lol

  • @bscross32 i created the whole farm without clothes.took me 22 years. got the tan to prove it.

  • You should restore the dozer back to its former glory

  • @EnjoyMyCutback That's a good idea actually, she needs a paint job

  • That is the first time I have ever heard of an engine that can run on diesel and gas. I always wondered how the compression could be reduced for a diesel to run on gas and now I know. Cool, thanks for the explanation.

  • Better get some paint on that muffler

  • sitting on a Gas can while welding, Very Redneck

  • @HDXFH It's the same as chainsawing a pile of wood in logs while standing up on it , i do it : fast way but dangerous .

  • That exhaust is gonna get smoking hot due to that thick metal :) Also it will remain hot much longer after you shut down the engine. Hope it doesn't heat up your intake too much. As long as you don't use it for hours in very hot weather that shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise you schould put a perforated smaller beam inside of the big one and extend the outlets into that one, that will take more heat outside and silence the dozer too :) Grtz

  • you should paint her, great job

  • @Kitfugl you dont want to know. so dont ask.

  • @Davidsfarmlives You are right sir. :-) Have a nice day!

  • @Davidsfarmlives it was obviously meant as a joke... :-)

  • @Davidsfarmlives you tell him dave!!

  • Even Dave is welcome as long as he dont try to rape my butthole again. heh.. just kidding... and then we cheeched!

  • all are welcome no goofs allowed! october 1st and 2nd, inwood ontario, 1puglife's birthday bbq! bring a tent, beer, and water, then we cheeched we are going to party big times and do big jumps and get just dickered friggin rights we will thanks for watching!

  • holy shit. i first skipped to 10:05 and i thought that was his pickle hanging down.

  • have you ever burned your cock or balls on something?

  • @motorkola2 yeah, women's thighs.

  • sweet. another job well done. if ya don't mind, like to see it in action. tc david.

been watching ya for quite some time.. back when pug use to hang out with ya.

glad you're back... tc n cheers.

  • Should of made Baffles inside it would of been 20% more quiet and smoother.Diesel is louder anyway lol good shit Dave!

  • dave, u should build a tool truck! just to have tools that you need when people break your things!

  • 6 well earned beers, dave, One of the better videos in a while :)

  • dave that dozer was made back when cars were cars. and where cars were cars. itll run forever.

  • I really like this video. Dave, you really are good at giving advice and how to.

  • dave your fuel must be different in canada... here in US our diesel smoke is black. and our gasoline smoke is white.

  • @godrock2 Not necessarily, Diesel smoke is just carbon, and a lot of it, hence why it is black. Gasoline itself does not really make smoke, but oil will make white/blue smoke. It does not have much to do with the fuel.

  • is dave fully naked when he does this? or in shorts?

  • Dave; All out of diesel? Why not pour in some motor oil or transmission fluid filtered thru a 1 micron filter or thru some blue jeans or silk? (5-15 micron)

    Good job at any rate!

  • Fire It No Exhaust.

  • In the old days the tolerance of screws was broad yet carefully milled; therefore you seldom experience a seized bolt or nut. For instance on the 50's Schwinn bikes I can break loose a peddle typically with no effort.

Today however many modern bikes the mating surfaces freeze up in as little as a few weeks upon immersion in water & inclement weather.

    Older is always better, bulletproof.

    Flux-Core instead?

I like the gas/diesel combo I wonder what it would take a to convert a car or truck?

  • nice job man

  • Well done Sir dave of fixalot

  • Hey Dave even though i mentioned the injector cleaner for the diesel engine but you can use waste vegtable oil to substitute diesel if you don't have the money just be sure to use a paint strainer to filter it and it should be ready to use. Done it before on a tractor a friend used to have to get it home and no problems but i don't know on that old beast of yours.

  • amazing video!!!

dave, when you talk about nude sun tanning, that is hot!!!

  • you should restore the dozer like your go-kart!

  • @justice4all3000 i got dave's go cart picture on my channel. yeah, he should restore that dozer!!!

  • sounds so much better already, glad to see you getting the dozer back in shape, its a cool machine....

  • Your mechanical (fix it) videos are so great Dave!
