TFF did a performance live via satellite around 1985 New Years Eve on Dick Clark's rockin' show. they sung Shout if i remember correctly. they wore all black. does anyone have that performance on video? if yes please post it....tnx

If I am correct TOTP let every artist/group rerecorded their hitsong vocally for the show. Every artist or group lip synced on the rerecorded soundtrack.

Agreed Roland and Curt may not have liked to lip it on stage but they certainly have a stage presense unmatched by any other band of that time.

Yep! These guys are amazing. I mean seriously, I have a poster in my room of them from the SFTBC era and they're just so gorgeous and talented! Love them to pieces.

I heard a new release of RATKOS was coming out this month, and that they were also going to try and put together an album of live performances from this summer's tour.

Anyways, I'm hoping they swing through Colorado! I'd love to see them and maybe get an album signed or something. :)

I'm happy that Curt and Roland are back on good terms. :) I saw two TFF videos on Much More Music here in Canada within a span of a week. I think they're really trying to promote them as much as possible up here.

I hope they're going to tour up here in the summer time because we Canadians love them as much as the Americans do. :)

They are live on stage but maybe not live singing... I think it's more difficult to sing playback.

Hi again no its not live Top of the Pops was on t.v from 60s and only just finished a couple of year back.Bands used to go on this as they climbed the charts before the many MTV channels this was the most popular in UK

They're almost certainly lip syncing. Live performances on Top OF The Pops didn't become the norm until after the Milli Vanilli scandal. After that, the TOTP producers were insistent that EVERYONE sings live, which naturally, was protested by a lot of pop tart type singers who couldn't actually accomplish the task. Tears For Fears I'm sure wouldn't have a problem with it, though.

@nourset One way to tell if it's live or not is that Manny isn't wearing the head set that he needs to keep the drums in time with the guitars and the keyboards.
