people this steps are old an no longer working because boost went on a data over haul at the beginning of the year. did u all hear about the TXT,MMS,DATA VOICE that affect everyone all over the us or people that have boost. IF THE PHONE IS NOT BOOST it will eventually stop working,.some times it works for some not all. also boost system had this thing that resets your MSID in the system with in your account service. its goes through OTA service.

I have the exact same problem with my 8350i nextel on boost ...everything works except the native browser... I got "hotspot only"... What was the solution...step by step please... I cannot update my OS b/c i am running most current version.... thanks for your help...

@Christinawilson1986 on the video, based on prev. instructions, I had to downgrade desktop manager and uninstall the latest one for a prev. version. now any version should work.

hi guys , i just got my 8350i and i just wanted to know if any of you know about this kind of ""easter egg"" that a 8350i of my friend has , he can turn off other phones with his blackberry by just messing with their contact information and then sending them an alert to that contact , after doing this their phones just shut down ..!!!?!! ....... if anybody can tell me how to do this besides him, all help will be greatly appreciated , thank you , please reply!

@cheapenterprise whenever you reboot/re-do service books and such, it will re-register and I get that too. It is normal. If your doesn't have the hot spot, wifi or such, try to delete everything in s.books, reload them and reboot and see if that works.. at times it took me 2 tries to get it working.

SERIOUS QUESTION THAT NEEDS ASSISTANCE:

I performed all the steps in order to convert my phone into boost mobile-compatible service. However, toward one of the final steps, when I go to the Host Routing Table, a screen lights up that says "REgistration message queued. It will be sent once data coverage is available." This message appears after i click register on the Host Routing Table option in the Advanced Options.

What should I do? Its not working for me! Please help!

@jgm1227ify mine stop working / for texting but I don't use that feature and only use PTT feature, I gave up on their lame low speed network and I'm now on evo/sprint 4g.

hey dud also let know that when you unblock an blackberry and you wanna used on boost it may not work or it may work adn if doesnt work boost is not responsable and they wont help you if you have any issues with the unblock blackberry why cose it has heppen to me on i started very good with the black but i didnt messages neither web sometimes calls and walkie , so i better went to the original blackberry from boost

mine was a nightmare because i got it at business auction and it had IT policy that blocked sms/mms msging on it. the jl--cmdr resets phone policy. took two days to fig out though.

alt s+b+e+b before combined3 which has to be unzipped. also phone could have IT policy which can block web. use jl--cmdr to restore factory set.

Let me also I add I bought the Nextel BB because I'm utterly confused by the whole Sprint/Nextel/Boost merger. I naturally assumed because I had an i870 Nextel/Boost that THIS BB would work as a Boost, so all of sudden they're different (but not really??) and Sprint's overseeing the whole deal??? it makes my head spin trying to follow it.

Anyway THATs what brings me to this point. I don't to waste my $180 on this phone and not get FULL use on Boost's $50 plan!

I'm confused? I just got a Nextel Blackberry off ebay (Pittsburgh Steelers colors, yellow, and black) and put my Boost sim card in from the i465 Clutch text phone I just got. On the Nextel BB I have wifi internet, make/receive calls(can't use speed dial though), RECEIVE texts/pics. BUT the only thing i can't seemingly do is SEND texts or pictures (mms, sms) which is vital for me??

Or does it change to "BOOST"?

@MRCTJUICE not it still says NEXTEL and always remains NEXTEL. It's normal from what i have read. I have everything working now MMS, SMS, web, HotSpotBrowser and "Browser" I have IM+ which is really cool and google apps. 1 THING that will not work is the BB Messenger.

@MRCTJUICE You know what that's true. I thought it was my GOOGLE VOICE not forwarding my phones to my boost mobile but some calls go straight to voicemail. Now that you say that makes sense.  I had CRICKET before which they suck too but I never had missed or lost calls. I ONLY use boost for walkie talkie or push to talk. Before I would have TREO 700 unlocked w/Cricket and a cheap Motorola 425 for PTT (PushToTalk)

@MRCTJUICE Ouu forgot to mention that where I live if I leave the phone in a certain area it looses signal completely. I like the phone but service w/Boost Mobile just sucks, wonder if it's the hacking of the phone that's doing it or what. But my Moto 425 had the same service issues but not the missing calls. Actually the Moto 425 would receive the calls when my treo wouldn't. I had my GoogleVoice forward the call to both cells at the same time.
