A "soldier" is any person engadged in military service. Therefore, Army, Navy, Marine, Airforce, they are ALL soldiers. Im pretty sure anyone in the service would agree to that. The names of their branches they belong to distinguish them. Calling a marine a soldier is not an insult, calling him an airman or a seaman, maybe. Plus, BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform. So any of the branches uniforms are called BDU's. Now the Army's BDUs are called ACUs (Army Combat Uniform; new pattern).

A "soldier" is any person engadged in military service. Therefore, Army, Navy, Marine, Airforce, they are ALL soldiers. Im pretty sure anyone in the service would agree to that. The names of their branches they belong to distinguish them. Calling a marine a soldier is not an insult, calling him an airman or a seaman, maybe. Plus, BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform. So any of the branches uniforms are called BDU's. Now the Army's BDUs are called ACUs (Army Combat Uniform; new pattern).

hey guys, I really sorry, why are you so offensive? I learn english and maybe don't undestand all words. I see some people call terrorists "insurgents", why is it so? Could you tell me, shouldn't those people who live in their own country be called citizents or inhabitants of Iraq? And shouldn't americans be called invaders instead? Help!
