I tend to hit very fat shots driving the club into the ground way behind the ball and sometimes I feel as if I'm falling backwards.even when I make contact I either slice the ball right or it takes off way left. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
To the poster who posted this: You are doing everything right to get the result you have gotten.
I wonder if you can consciously recreate this non-shot.
Just to finish off earlier e mail - this fault can be overridden by training the hands and wrists to deliver the strike. This really is the basis of my DVD.
Thanks for your enthusiastic comments on my videos. You have only been playing a very short time so you that's good as you won't have any real bad habits, but be careful - you are already falling into golf's number one swing fault. You are starting the downswing with a forced pull from the left arm and shoulder (assuming that you are right handed). This force pulls your head up and back - away from target, hence you are hitting ground before the ball and becoming unbalanced.
Hey David, I just want to thank you for these wonderful videos. I am a beginner, just started playing 5 months ago and your videos are helping me so much, however I still have bad habits from trying to learn on my own without any lessons. I wish i discovered David Blair 40 years ago. It is so simple it has to be right. My pro has always been and advocate of the use of the hands. David explains it better and my pro agrees and admits it help him.
Watched the video. The myth about keeping your head down.
Drives me crazy when instructing. Same old stuff.
I love and appreciate what you are doing.
What I want to know is how it all went bad?
