I love her autobiography book (I, Tina). It's really good. I first read it when I was in high school and have read at leat 4 times since. I can't put it down. It's one of my favorite autobiographies.

If you see some of her videos even back in the 60s she's always been well spoken. She's never really had a Southern accent.

I think that she really adopted the St. Louis accent in her teens, no one from St. Louis sounds like anywhere else in Missouri, it's a very specific regional accent.

I have to agree with you about that fake accent. She really started using it in 1975, the year this was shot. Seems that she picked it up after she filmed "Tommy" and really started getting a lot of accolades in England. Also, if you watch "Live In Mexico" (also 1975) she used it then too when introducing "Only Women Bleed." Are we from NUTBUSH or LONDON?? lol...

Most of you guys referring to Tina having an English accent either haven't been to England or have never heard an English accent - she definitely has a Southern accent. Like others have said she's well spoken.

I must say the book I, Tina was an excellent read. I had to go out and buy it! I LOVE Tina she is the best...she is and will always be a Legend. Gosh she is the best..I LOOVVVEEEE Tina LOL.

My wife made me read the book and I liked it, a lot. I have no respect for Ike as the cowardly excuse for a man that he was but he was a hell of a musician and producer. Tina's devotion to him was staggaring when you think of what she put up with on a daily basis.

It's so amazing to think of the pain beneath her answers. If she could only have told the truth of Ike beating her, and his drug feuled rages making her off stage life a living hell. Bravo Tina!! You deserve every good thing that has happened to you since you got away from that awful man.

Beyonce is not an orignal artist, she is very technical in everything she does but she seems to work so much harder than the other female singers in her age group. Just think about Jessica Simpson's tribute to Dolly Parton and how silly she acted and compare that to Beyonce's tribute to Tina. Beyonce is the most successful female artist of her generation b/c of her stong work ethic, professionalism, and powerful voice... she's a pretty girl too!

I totally agree. I mean I think Beyonce is okay and is quite a good performer, but she will never be as good as Tina. First off, most of Beyonce's music is trash compared to Tina plus her voice isn't nearly as good or as distinctive as Tina. Tina is also a much better performer. Tina is one of a kind. Beyonce is the best performer out right now though but Tina is tops! I love that lady.
