Boa's have no fangs, they have teeth, and when they bite can give you a nasty wound. You don't know much about snakes do you ? And you claim to work with snakes ?

They don't have venom glands but they do have fangs. Yes, especially since the fangs are barbed inwards, they can give a nasty bite, especially if you attempt to pull away.
I am by no means an expert with snakes, although I do know a good deal about them. I've been keeping snakes and other reptiles for almost three years now and researching them for four or five years.

Buddy, again, boa's & Pythons do not have fangs they have teeth. The boa have teeth that are hooked so they can grasp their prey. Their teeth are not barbed.
Only venomous snakes have Fangs, extremely sharp and hollow. You don't seem to know the difference ?

Actually, Emerald tree boas have fangs and they are not venomous..... But you are right about the regular boas, they do not have fangs. Still, you should not be so rude and think you know everything.

Now for you and my pal totalwombatfan. The Emerald boa has no FANGS, no boa does period !!!!! Their front teeth are highly developed and usually larger than those of any other non venomous snake.
And I don't know everything for Christ Sake but I have considerable snake knowledge.
BOA'S NO FANGS, but TEETH, includes the Emerald Tree. Now have a lovely day and I hope Santa's good to you next year.

I agree with u wholeheartedly. This guy doesn't seem to even get the very basics of herpetology. I also think he more than 1 account because any herper would back u up & you seem to have lots of thumbs down. This guy needs an education in snakes and an education in how 2 have a discussion without resorting 2 immature insults & confrontations. i know they they arent boas arent venomous but i was asking if you could get puerto rican boas as pets i am not sure because they are and endangered endemic species and as such may not be legal on the pet trade but i am not sure so if anyone knows for sure please tell me i would love to have one as a pet to show my boriqua pride and love for the beauty of snakes

An animal that injects venom is venomous, an animal that is poisonous has it on it's back etc, like those cute little frogs. See the diffrent? So no snakes is or will ever be poisonous or carry any poison.
This is the big factor that seperates poison and venom.

Right, in general, venom is injected, poison is touched.
Stonefish, scorpions, spiders, snakes, jellyfish....all venomous.
Dont brush against vines, frogs, etc...they're all poisonous
