  • Nice! Good shit!

  • Hell yeah ! Pine ave. Downtown long beach !

  • The cars character was a 1950 mercury, but it was portrayed by 3 different cars in the movie. A 49, 50 and a 51. All very similar but subtly different.

    Tail lights change shape.

Windshield goes from one-piece, to two piece glued to two piece with chrome.

The chase car had a drop drag link to accommodate the larger engine.

Loved the car in the movie, loved the movie.

  • Love the music in this scene

  • That Merc was badass, but too bad it didn't sound as good as it looked, I think that's why "The Expendables" was a much more visceral chase, and the 55 Ford in that one sounded good AND was blown. I saw it getting made on "CARS" by West Coast Customz

  • What's that Volare' or Aspen got in it to where nitrous doen't even touch it ? The car should of at least been a more formidable foe since it makes the 50 look like a dumbed down and de-tuned Pacer. And Romeo, this movies explicitly states LA and I live in AZ , and yes the cops ARE pussies and the docks are non existent in this landlocked state,Gerard, these kind of cops get killed their first day in the academy.

  • For all the people out there who think that Stallones ride isn't a 1950, get with it and know your cars. Shit his license plate in the movie even says "Awsom 50"

  • For all the people out there who think that Stallones ride is a anything but a 1950, get with it and know your cars. Shit his license plate in the movie even says "Awsom 50"

  • I want that car!

  • i really want the model hamburger from this movie in the tourist store. Does anybody know where i can get an authentic model hamburger like the ones form this movie. It must be authentic and like the 80's model hamburgers. who else agrees they are cool

  • It should be noted that Stallone was the original choice for the lead in "Beverly Hills Cop". That was when the film had a darker and more serious tone to it. Stallone passed it over and did this movie to make up for that.

  • "We, are the future!" "No, you're history!"

  • cant hear shit and the video quality is ass...

  • I haven’t seen anything from Cobra since it came out on VHS PAL rental early 1987.

One of few films recorded in Ultra* Stereo sounded nuts here on the JBL sound system some of the scenes where it flies though the air and knocks off hanging sign with sparks flying LOL.

  • these cops in arizona are a bunch of pussy's?

  • @Robhot1982 it's stalone assholes?

  • the badest motherfucker that ive ever meet!

  • thats what we need a mother fucker like cobretti to show these cops how it's done?

  • LOL @ license plate "AWSOM"

  • @GerardEarthfield thats what we need a mother fucker like cobretti to show these cops how it's done

  • @GerardEarthfield your a pussy to!

  • @romeojuliet54 Meow!

  • Damn, these clunkers are not made for a good drive. Bring some Corvette

  • I used to think you should be seeing back of his car at 2:06 and not the front.

  • Chinga tu madre, pinche joto!

  • @chumpthedog chinga la tuya pinche joto !

  • Man-they had some good movies back in the 80s.

  • I played this scene and muted the video while I had the benny hill theme playing. This had a reverse effect on the video: The chase scene was hilarious!

  • Never mess with a man car it could cost you your life. Nice 51 merc before it gat totoled.

  • Fuckin' good 80's stylez car chase man! Love it a lot, homie!!! Thankz for uploadin' 'dis one! :D

  • id be made if some dude shot my mercury to 1.58 lol

  • Jatimatic FTW! :D

  • beautiful car! Mercury

  • actually a 1950 mercury

  • Cannot be 100% sure but i think it's a 51 Mercury, the same as the Pharohs used in American Graffiti..

  • It is a 51 Mercury Coupe, after lookin' closely at the vid. ;)

  • What car does he drive?

  • at 1:44 i love that driving frikken crazy shit.damn thats good

  • I fucking love this chase scene it is so insane its awesome.this is a good movie.

  • I miss 80 action movies. They did real stunts than, so cgi.

  • Love that Merc!

  • i love stallone!!

  • beautiful mercury

  • I don't really like this movie overall, but this chase is really cool. The jump out of the car garage is epic.

  • love this scene and the bikes scene also awesome movie

  • Lol they jump the same bridge twice

  • 4:28

  • Thank god Hollywood got a little smarter..."Bourne Identity" is a perfect example. Matt Damon is no action star when compared to the likes of Sly or Arnold, but that movie rocked. He wasn't all muscle and he drove that little shit car in chase scenes, yet that movie was a hell of a flick.

  • Very good action chase scene, but what bothers me is why they have to give the bad guys such shit cars? Sure, it make's Cobra's car look better by doing so & they're throw away stunt cars, but it just so cliche and obvious.

  • A friend of mine once told me that he read that they built 3 of these cars for the movie. They only used one to do the entire chase scene. This seems true as you notice the damage to the car from scene to scene, unlike some other movies in which a car can run thru a gate, get shot up, etc. and is mysteriously repaired in the next camera shot. Car repair fairy's maybe?

  • Ford Mercury, what a badass car! @ 1:00: nice 4 point seatbelt:D

  • He's Crazy, he's Crazy!!! I wonder if Ingrid enjoyed the ride (aka damsel in major distress!!!)? That should be this new theme park ride---you take this brief trip with Cobretti in his vintage 50's, turbo-charged shitbox through the streets of LA going 155 miles per hour shooting at every car you pass by just for entertainment! How wonderful, and what an original, brilliant idea guaranteed to make millions (of course you might need years of major psychological therapy after that ride!)!

  • Dude, every Cop should be like Cobretti! That motherfucker is one fearsome badass, as he's entirely fearless, cool as a cucumber, lethal as a Gurkha & crazy as Jimmy Coonan (that's what I call this deadly combination--making Cobretti the ideal, perfect cop for any hairy/fucked up/violent situation!)! For the Nightslashers had this 650 to 1 advantage yet they were virtually wiped out & annihilated to this man by Cobretti alone (his partner may have popped 5 or 6!)!! Cop of the 80's hands down!

  • @sxlfkta lol,I love it.

  • I was a kid..but I remember this movie....unbelivable...sick

  • Notice the scene where it shows the tach, tach reads it`s doing 8500 RPM and the MPH shows a bit over 80, 8500 RPM and 80 MPH? Jesus it must have 8:1 gears. But if you listen to the engine at the same time it sounds like it might be taching 2500 lol. Hell it`s no wonder it couldn`t catch the dodge being it was geared that low lol... Hollywood.

  • Thats true LOL

  • Dude, give me this thumbs up, for Cobretti/Stallone would much appreciate that. He'll even give you this crazy, ferociously unrestrained free ride throughout the LA streets in this replica of that "vintage 50's, turbo-charged shitbox" featured in the movie (or maybe it's the same car all fixed up--by his bro Frank Stallone, who loves to help out anyway he can!)! Yo, we're the CURE, & most everyone else that participates in YOU TUBE is the Disease! Let's give Cobretti this call!!! TTrain, SQ!

  • well....I think that's the same model of Mercury as in James Dean's Rebel without a cause.

anyway, it is a trend now to put new technology into old classic cars.

I watched "year one" custom car show on Discovery, they have this very high tech 700HP chevy in a 67 Chevy II

  • Love the car, but has anyone else noticed how easy to Dodge is out running the merc? so bad he has to hit the nitrous to keep up. The dodge might have a 318 at it`s largest but is more than likely a slant. Also notice how the big ford F250, which is surely not a runner is also keeping up with the merc easily. Hot Rod can`t keep up with stock vehicles. Hollywood at it`s finest lol.

  • and the truck is conveniently carrying a load of explosives in the bed. i guess bad guys do that though.

  • Lol he haves Jatimatic smg :P

  • I like it when he turn his car around and stick his machine gun out and start shooting.

  • That ford mercury is beautiful, riding in these old cars now, it's such a great feeling. Pure Iron, all mechanical. You could FEEL you where driving hehe.

  • Ah the nightslashers. Nothing like a bunch of grown ass men bangin' axes together in an empty pool.

  • Back when they made movies it was alright to wreck a bad ass car in. Unlike this fast and furious bullshit.

  • thnx to the uploader. this car chase was great.

  • god DAMN that is a badass merc'... im inspired

  • Now, That's a Car Chase!

  • what's the car?

  • Stallone's car is Mercury Monterey from 1950, nightslashers are using Plymouth Volare (1979) and Ford F-Series (1973).

  • Thanks man.

i didn't know it over 20 years old.

Now it's too slow i guess, but those days it was a dream car

  • Gonzales is in his mum pussy, fuck him deal your self , great classic, old school classick

  • gotta love old school car chases, no cgi.

  • u do

  • What do i do?

  • I bet that car was so slow, what a terrible choice for a "cool" car. The boring grey color didnt make it looke any cooler either, black would have been much better.

  • u do

  • thats car is just an ugly turd

  • 0:36-What a fucking idiot ...dosent knows how to drive and crashes into other peoples car and then calls them : ,,Hey YOU IDIOT WATCH WHERE YOURE GOING!,,

  • was this the first cinematic car to feature nitrous?

  • hey esa pelicula es buena deberian ponerla completa pa ra q la disfruten mejor

  • Look out Santa in the toll booth.

  • OMG! cliché breaker alert!that mercury didn't blew up when it fell!

  • COBRA - IS SO AWESOME 8-)

  • This car freaked my ass out when I saw it in 1990 for the first.. I love the 49 Packard , Ford copied Packard many times. Packard made an Edsel like concept car. Ford copied it and flopped.

  • I can't believe I've been thinking for all these years that the car he drove in this movie was a smoke gray checker cab, I'm blown away by the realization. I probably haven't seen this movie in 15 yrs. Shows you how memory fades. Damn.

  • They painted it grey because it would been impossible to keep up movie production with the extra work thank God. Todays hot rods are tacky cheezy discusting , this car is rich and classic. A real American hot rod. 420 Stalone you mother fucking asshole fucking up these beautiful machines for money. Hollywood

  • I did figure out what movie the checker was in it's a movie called second sight with john leraquet and Bronson Pincheot, there are some snipets of the movie on youtube but they don't show the car very well.

  • wow this looks good so far happy i added it on netflix

  • excellent stunts - and very clear picture!

  • This car is a proper beast. would love 1 in my garage. hehe.

  • pray for one in Heaven, God is a cool rightous God !! 420
