#1 - I am no specialist, so your names - Elie, Simon, Fred and David - mean little to me. Please, use surnames.

#2 - There's plenty of evidence of the Holocaust on the eastern front, if you care to look. Try for instance looking at SS Einsatzsgruppen, the predecessor of the concentration camps built in Poland. Consider the liquidation of major ghettos such as Warsaw and Krakow, both well-documented events.

Dachau was a tiny model for future camps which right from the beginning were built complete with gas chambers and furnaces.

5 stars. It was one of the blackest pages of our history, but it learned us a lot about how extreme political views, in combination with a disgruntled people and technological (ab)use, can wreck havoc on a global basis.

It's like they say: learn from our mistakes, so that we may become better. And people who deny the Holocaust happened, they should check out the dozens of evidence that exist. No serious historian doubts the Holocaust.

It may surprise some to find that Dachau, when it was first opened, was given terrific coverage in the Goebbels controlled press. The Nazis were very proud of their "achievement" in putting political opponents and dissidents in prison. Of course the maltreatment, beatings, torture and murders were not reported.

Dachau is often used as "proof" that gas chambers did not exist. The later and much bigger death factories all had them, and they were added to Dachau shortly before the end of the war. The arrival of the Allies prevented their use.
