@greenmachine051 I just now have found your replies in my imbox. After reading them, I must say, you are easily one of the ignorant and bias people I have ever met. That is all. I'm not going to continue talking with someone who just assumes such ridiculous things based off the fact that I am not for gay marriage. That is all. To not be continued.
@greenmachine051 Out of curioisity(pretending like I haven't heard this tired argument 1,000 times) if I oppose to 2 men getting married, how does it affect your life?
@GroundedForLife27 We're a democracy. I believe that homosexuality is wrong and i'm not in favor of marriage being changed. That's is my stance. It affects my life in like I said, I think it's wrong and with given the chance, I will attempt to decrease the chances of it happening. The babies dying in abortion aren't straight-forward affecting my life either, but i'm still not voting pro-choice, because I don't think it's right.
Great Review. Agreed with ALMOST everything you said. Homosexuals seem pretty misunderstood in my opinion. Gay people can actually be quite nice. However, i highly doubt that the film will convince anybody to change their opinions on gays. Nothing really does. in the end it ends up like this:
Man #1: why are you homophobic?
Man #2: Because Fags are different than me and I dont understand them. l fear what i dont understand.
You're right; Leviticus also doesn't specifically say "marriage is not meant for homosexuals," but it does say homosexuals must be put to death (Leviticus 20:13). Leviticus also instructs against wearing clothes of two different fabrics (Leviticus 19:19) and shaving (Leviticus 19:27). The book condones the cruel practice of stoning as well (Leviticus 20:27, Leviticus 24:16). If this where you're getting your morality from, you might want to consider reading the entire book.
Are you talking to me? I'm not the one that said it doesn't say marriage isn't meant for gays in the bible. I agree with what the bibiel says regarding homosexuality, but i'm not going to discriminate against them.
What religion are you speaking of? My first guess would be Christianity, but the Bible doesn't say anything about gay marriage. I'm just wondering where you got the impression that your religion "speaks otherwise" about gay marriage.
By the way, when you said Milk recently released in your area, I thought, "Hey, it's opened here in Lincoln, too." It's always good to find a local YouTube fan--and a fellow movie fanatic. Keep up the videos.
im catholic, but I go to a baptist school, and they talk so much shit about homosexuals its ridiculous. I just want to smack them in the face for being so stupid. They talk shit about catholic people too, and IM CATHOLIC
Actually, Christianity does speak otherwise. Homosexuality is condemned in several places. It's also spelled out in Leviticus (I believe) that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. It may not specifically say, "Marriage is not meant for homosexuals" but it does imply such.
Hey! Newsflash! Who gives a fuck what the Bible says?
LOL Can't believe people in 2009 are still refrencing a book that was written THOUSANDS of years ago by a bunch of mysogynist dessert people. Grow up. Seriously. You might as well use The Lord of The Rings or The Illad as a reference on morality.
But really, let others have their own personel beliefs. You're telling me to grow up when you're the one harassing me for believing in what the bible preaches.
yeah if your an athiest, thats fine, people can believe whatever they want. THis is America. im an athiest, but ive know ALOT of christians, and the generally nicer, and more charismatic than some athiests i know. i may not believe in what they preach, but i know that it helps alot of people.
More Agnostic than Atheist. Sometimes atheists are just as hell bent and self-rightious as Christians in regards to their views. All I know is that I am about the size of an ant in the grand sheme of things (as are all humans) So for me to be arrogant enough to assume I have it all 'figured out' would be moronic.
The irony of using a text that was written 1000's of years ago to apply to contempory society frightens me
There is no point arguing about religion. It's like trying to tell a 4 year old that Santa doesnt exsist; they won't absorb the information because they don't want to.The illusion and mass-fed fantasy is far more appealing and less scary than the truth, which is the unknown. Religious folk don't like the unknown, so a book from 1000 years ago fills that void of uncertainty
And you don't know anything. If you don't want to argue about it, don't say irrelevent crap like "Hey! Newsflash! Who gives a fuck what the Bible says?"
I already admited that I don't know anything by saying that I am the size of an ant in the 'grand scheme of things' (As we all are) therefore how could I possibly determine where we go when we die?
That's why I am Agnostic NOT Atheist.
BTW I admit, my 'newsflash' line was a bit crass..even for me lol. If it makes one feel good and purposefull to follow a man-made ancient book, then so be it! But don't impose the opinions of the Ancients onto others, same goes for Atheists.
What interesting about the bible is that it has been changed again and again by different people so It cant really be trusted. Plus Constantine changed the bible in the 9th century and although times were rough he was a profound homophobe.
