I kinda lol'd. :P I'm german myself and it's true indeed that our language sounds very rough and aggressive. Though that's what I like about it. I would freak out if I was french, trying to insult someone but realizing it sounds like I just asked him to marry me. Of course it's just comedy, though we do not pronounce our language the way she explained it :)

I said that it's only a common stereotype that German is an "ugly" language here in North America (and the woman pretending as if German sounds harsh and loud only reinforces it); BUT I find the stereotype is not true at all. Ich habe gesagt that I find German to be one of the BEST SOUNDING languages. Beste klingende sprache, if that makes sense. I'm currently learning it.

I never understood the stereotype that German is an "ugly" language, while Romance languages are beautiful. Italian sounds really nice, sure, but French is just sooo nasal (and this is coming from someone who lives in French Canada and speaks French). Spanish is like ratatatatat machine gun. I think the best sounding languages are German and Japanese, but that's just me. Japanese, especially, sounds so mellow and organized, hard to explain.

Why are you Germans getting all ofended? It's a comedian in a (somewhat) comedy show, and when you make fun of something you exagerate. And you do have to admit that compared to other languages often in conversations amongs men, they do sound like they are in an argument. Same can be said with Japanese I guess. As opposed to, let's say Brazilian Portuguese where averything sounds soft and you notice an argument only if you see the faces.

@Zeddiculus1203 almost any other language has a bigger variety of words than English. That's why we learn it in school, because it is relatively easy. And Germany is the nation WITH poets. But you can't say there aren't many anywhere else. Do you speak Chinese? Spanish? any other language that has many native speakers? But just because you don't learn about them in school doesn't mean they don't exist. I didn't know most of them until I moved to Austria and learned the language.
