Digital is the way to go, I have this unit. Have tried a friends Yukon Gen 1 with the green viewer and was not a fan. I use the Bushnell Digital 5/42 night vision mounted on a tripod to record stars and satellites with the video out. Never had to use the Super IR for long enough to see how long it lasts on batteries as I use a power adapter most of the time.There is more than you think out there, you just have to be patient and look.
