I left Detroit in '82 after a divorce, and moved outside of Houston for a few years. KIKK radio in Houston played this song constantly down there. I spent some time in the "small town bars" down there. OK, maybe quite a bit of time. Thanks for reminding me of a few of those experiences. ;-) After hearing Earl Thomas Conley's original arrangement of this, with all the horns-I always thought this would be nearly impossible to pull off acoustically-but you did it well. Thanks.
