@AnimefanX2 i have tons. see the one that will be on tv in canada. i am snowshoeing in big snow into a snowcave. i scrape my snowshoes of magnesium. and use flint in snowcave to make survival fire. unreal vid. first hd vid i made.
I have a dream to live in an area like this, I highly admire you, any student of Bujinkan is a friend of mine. and by the way, you Bojustu as very graceful! I respect your comitment.
@RECON4NOW more things like chipmunks. birds. squirrels. deer. there are bear and mt lion but they hide deep in woods and avoid humans like the plague
go pick some Azurescens from astoria oregon.. the most potent mushroom in the world grows there.. and ONLY there.. the seasons about to start, in two months.. never a better time to start actully living.
@Muuzip99 thanks. enjoy all the wonderful nature locations i train in. i try to go to different spots in my outdoor vids. so they are all way different. lakes. waterfalls. cliffs. rivers. dense forest. etc... take care
I've watched a few of your video's, and my initial reaction to anyone doing this kind of thing would be to see them as, for lack of a better word, a loser-someone who uses their art for self-image. but this is different. There is something spiritual to this. I have enormous respect for you Komuso.
you can have a relaxed closed hand but put your hand on a staff and close them both but relaxed. your angles and movement will be not as mobile. and you are correct on trasitory posture. kamae translates to posture or stance but they are not fixed by flow and are alive. that is right.
I like to think of Kamae as being reserved to the upper body this leaves the lower body to move freely - naturally around the opponent.
An example of this point of view is seen in Kendo where you may how your sword in Jodan No Kamae and yet you continue to adjust your distance and positioning to counter your opponents movements.
This point of view allows you to use your kamae as a trap. By holding a jodan no kamae you are encouraging the opponent to thrust at your abdomen. this ofcourse does not mean that the opponent will take the bait, but its an attempt to guide the opponent.
However in order for this strategy to work you must hold the kamae until the opponent attacks, using your footwork for defence.
Kamae based training requires you have fluid footwork, and an extensive knowledge of the strategies of each Kamae.
You must give your kamae a real purpose this gives them a tactical advantage over the opponent. Kamae not merely transitory postures. thats is a real shallow perspective.
yes all this makes sense. kamae are posture that are suppose to be alive and not stagnent if that makes sense and yes i have unarmed kamae i do that are also to provide a opening to pursuade a attacker to fall for the opening but it is really a trap cause you want them to take. it is all timing and distance
by the way I really enjoy your training videos. i only found them last week but as a result i will be going away to camp and train this weekend. hopefully put a video together.
I look forward to hearing your comment on my videos.
that is how i yeild a sword as well. they dont stick out when striking but when in stances or kamae it allows your wrist more moveablity. you dont want to hold the weapon with the tight grip. you should be loose and relaxed and ready to move it in any direction. as you swing to strike it is closed. same as a punch. my hand is open till impact. etc...
three time watch it evey good plants and stuff wow dude i cant wait until other video bro you gone in to nitty gritty in life that life is all about car money it about learning live with nature and survival
mountainous do you have any good recipe or advices on a smoke bomb or anything that can help you disapearing if you have then please send me a personal mesage
i read somewhere once that the ninja before a mission would only eat fruit and vegs some where entirely vegetarians so that the wouldn't smell of meat and other animals in the forest would be able to smell that he/she doesn't eat meat and wouldn't run away from them so they wouldn't startle the animals to alert their enemies i don't if its true personally i never tried it because i love meat but if it works it would of been another great ninja idea
no it doesn'T work, because animals are not startled by the smell of meat an man gives off, that's ridiculous, you should know that there are various other body odors your body creates that an animal can smell. besides, animals doesn't get startled by smell. When I camp in the wild, I can approach animals just fine without startling them, it's noise and aggresion that makes them escape.
well meat was a very rare good in medieval japan and as most Ninja were farmers, they probably wouldn't get meat to often. even Fish was not very easy to obtain.
yeah a lot of them were rogue samurai as well though or were samurai that would sometimes use stealth if a mission called for but there was the farming community that were more ninja than samuarai like the koga or others
Many people think Ninjutsu is just sneaking around and throwing stars, but there's also: "field operative survival". Cool that you covered that by reminding us that the woods can feed us (if you're willing to eat anything! Grubs are delicious when there's nothing else!) I like how you're showing every aspect, living the life...
hate to tell you i watched agin lolololo journey is half the trip the journey of warrior heart and never end journey part of sum to find our self in this .
When I saw the title "GATHERING" all I could think of was a big NInja camp in the woods. Thanks again for taking us on an awesome journey! You put so much heart and soul into your vids. Great job Jason.

it is where settlers came to camp in the old day of old west and so it is called government camp. that is the name of my town. the village of government camp. us locals call it govy
Gotta love the Huckleberries, I also found some fresh salmon berries by my place that were tasty. Can't wait to sit back to a hot cup of Western Hemlock Tea soon.
me too. you can help me with that vid jim. cant wait for you to move back into the condo. i got a email from a guy saying he is writing about me in a future article of a big martial arts magazine. my vids and training is what it is about. cool huh.
wow Jason getting good with that flute sounds great. You really are playing with all your heart and soul brother. Nice day to take it easy with the training.
An excellent video once again Stork Sensei 5 stars. Those huckleberries look like blueberries very nice. Just a few questions since your videos are so well put together do you use adobe photoshop? Also do you have someone film you or are you setting the camera up on a tripod . I just want to learn from the expert . Please and thanks .
Hello jason, Good practical video and i have a request for you to show us what natural remedies and medicines did the ninja and ancient warriors use for injuries and pain gained in battle and training exercises, i've asked someone called choson ninja but he ignored me.Would it be possible in the near future to grant me this request?
not near future cause i still got horseback in armor archery to work on and do before winter and i live high up on mt. we start seeing snow sometimes in october. and october it rains all month anyway. so i only got 6 weeks to do all i plan before snow. and then white snow ninja vids come back like last winter. but as for fires it is fire season and no fires in the forest right now. so all those vids i mentioned will be early spring vids. just seeing if people want me to do it. take care
Another great video, I want to ask if you have survival videos already, I hope I will find them
