What if Assange is actually guilty of sexual assault? This does not discredit his work, only his character. Even if this is a politically motivated case, if he is guilty (both factually and legally) of sexual assault, he should be held accountable for his actions.

What if Assange is actually guilty of sexual assault? This does not discredit his work, only his character. Even if this is a politically motivated case, if he is guilty (both factually and legally) of sexual assault, he should be held accountable for his actions.
We shouldn't dismiss these allegations just because we support Assange's cause.

@infidel1978 Nothing of any game-changing effect has come out of Wikileaks. Wikileaks is a 'setup' which was fed with a large volume of low-grade info to give fake credibility to Juliane Assange's claim that 9/11 was not an inside job. Julliane Assange is a manipulated dork.

@darkhorseman81 Sweden does have some of the strangest laws. Consensual sex, everyone is happy, later one side decides they wanted a condom used but it wasn't, they can legally go after the other on rape charges. Rape actually fits that descripition! Lets just hope Julian doesn't end up there. If he does, I suspect a very long drawn out business while the US waits for the public to forget about Assange before they nab him.

I can't believe there are only 7% of Floridians have a brain.
If this trend continues across the country I think the US is in serious trouble, I honestly think the US actually needs to go Bankrupt and lose a couple hundred thousand soldiers in WWIII before the American people wake up and realize they need Ron Paul.
Unfortunately he will be 81+ yrs old next election, I think if Ron doesn't win he needs to take care of his family and leave the US.

@wutang6020 Sadly he's been all but forgotten. Still enduring awful conditions. While it's easy to look back with hindsight, I believe Wikileaks should have held off on releasing anything until they'd got Manning safe. Without anything out there in the news, Manning wasn't even a target. I think Assange sacrificed him for some greater good was his thinking.

@completesculpture Manning shot himself in the foot by boasting to the Wired Hacker Adrian Lamo. Lamo reported him to the FBI. Wikileaks/Assange still denies the leaks came from Manning. They say there system makes it impossible to know where it came from.

@TheTruthline I've followed the story closely. It's true he was silly to speak to the hacker, I think he was in a bad place personally and saw the online chats as something private between the two of them. He just needed to tell someone I guess. A shame it was to such a weak character. I think Assange has to say it's not necessarily him just to protect him and himself. We have to use words like allegedly when talking about Manning, it's hard at this point to say it wasn't him. :)
