Sweet, I would love to see this, I hope it starts with when he was young and started out playing back in canada, I want to see and maybe hear him back then, but a documentry about Maynard would have to be a few hours long or in volumes because of his amazing 60 years and there is just so many concerts that could be featured in it, good luck Ms. Ferguson.
Please, Kim, for the love of Sai Baba! Don't give up until you get this out there. For all of Maynard's fans, there are many who need to get hep to the jive!
@Bassbone80 It' s from the middle of his chart on MacArthur Park.. the original studio version from the album 'Maynard Ferguson', 1970 ...there's another great live take on MF Horn 4&5, 1973.
@Bassbone80 Maynard Ferguson's version of MacArthur Park. This was the third piece from MF that I heard, after Birdland and Everybody Loves The Blues (Album This Is Jazz 16).
Ms. Ferguson, please don't worry. We al know you want to do this right. We will be waiting and ready when you are ready to release it. Thanks for putting this together.

not to be rude, or disrespectful to the BOSS, but... for the first 40 seconds.... he should have stuck with the trumpet... lol

In the immortal words of the judge in the movie caddy shack, "WELL... WE'RE WAITING...."

I think it would be better if you exactly matched the video footage to what MF is playing ... just my opinion.

The Beginning is from Misra Dhenuka live in Germany!!! It´s one of the best things I have ever heard!!!

not sure on the beginning music...it sounds like an extended intro to Ganesha or something similar.

This is Maynard playing the middle part of "MacArthur Park", not his Gonna Fly Now. I don't know what the Piano in the beginning is from though

He was such an intense band leader and conductor. And I don't think I need to mention anything about his playing.
