The sounds you hear after he turns off the lights( in my opinion anyway) is the dad running up the stairs and shutting the door. The grunt is Santa dislodging himself from the chimney and Walking over to eat the cookies. The cookies being eaten are the crunching sound.. Thats my best guess..
