@104bigTruck By climb down, I meant move down the hill. Do they use engine breaks. Once I drove a truck with engine brakes that could be switched on or off.
@trio3d Well this truck is going down hill most of the way and that is wht that brake is on. All Engine brakes have an on off switch or the blasted thing would com on all the time when you let off the throttle.
@ILLTOWN420 This is Sumas Mt. in the USA just south of the Sumas Mt. in Abby. as I come over the Mt headed down the other side I'm looking right off into the fraser valley in this video.
Love hearin that Big kitty CAT purrr, can almost smell the diesel smoke, can hardley wait to hear that ole Jake brake rumble. I am already crying. Missin my Daddy so much these last few days, he drove for 50yr, 45 of which I was along every minute possible. He worked so long and hard to get His "Caddy" he proudly called his large car, Bigwheel, 02 peterbilt with the big CAT to match, he made that cat ROAR, the big road miss' u BUCK so does ur babygirl thanx Driver for makin me smile again today
@huntercsx I'mnot sure how hard it is because so much has changed in 20 yrs since I aquired mine. By the looks of the riff raft thats comming out of the wood works and aquiring them I would think they have to be giving them away.
@104bigTruck what you have to do to get a CDL these days is to demonstrate how to do a pre trip inspection, back up a trailer 100 feet without going out of bounds, paralell park on BOTH sides and perform an alley dock which is a 90 degree turn in reverse and then show how to shift using double clutching
@104bigTruck amen to that . 99% of new drivers woulda been outa brakes at the 5min mark, video would be nothin but smoke then a view of the sky as truck went greasy side up, great vid, truck sounds awesome. nice to see a video posted by someone that knows how to drive. stay safe, live long and prosper
@huntercsx its not too bad i went today and got mine and im only 19 just read your book and you got it but the pre-trip and driving is real hard in virginia.
@eemahboolovesyou Ok you have anything to ad to that? Weird to you but not to 2 million other viewers who know what they are looking at here. This weird video you call is also making my new car payment.
Great video. I used to do alot of truckin on roads like that in the Sierras in California, mostly hauling super heavies with my old 79 359. I used a KTA450 with a RTO 12513 married to a Brownie 4 speed. Mostly 9 axle stuff, I got bigger than that sometimes. Cant drive anymore now because Parkinson's has whacked me, but damn, if I could only do it one more time...........
@Chefjim4me I'm glad I was able to bring you back to heaven even if just for a moment my friend. Hang in there and be strong. Sorry about your health. Thanks for watching.
@Chefjim4me health took me off the road as well. i DO miss it. but thanks to jeff here, as well as a few others, seansuth, rogertrucker etc, i can go back out, if only as a video passenger
I remember when my area around had nice roads like that, now logging is slow and the roads are either grown over or have been removed by the goverment.
@OregonDipper91 Keep watching we have trucks with double drip axles on the truck and twin singles out the rear of the trailer for a four axle trailer now. Crazy.
@104big Truck yes the tree huggers do not want you destroying the roads so their expeditions and escalades can ride smooth while they're going to protest the killing of the spotted owl. gotta add more weight so you can haul less payload therefore make more trips using more fuel but good job on the video
I used to run with my chain binders on the driver side. But I found out that DOT like them on the passenger side instead. At least The Weight Station located in Wenatchee area.
Nice. Sounded good letting her just walk around that first corner without downshifting (3rd was it?). Can always leave it to a CAT to meter that fuel and get the job done under strain.
Copy, I think/thought I knew stuff about trucks and learn new things all the time... Had no idea about the drag another axle would cause. Thanks for the info. Could ya show the 73s Big Cam at this site "flexin" its 38 yr old muscles outta the hole? LOL. Keep the rubber side down
Love it 10-4BT! . How come the T800s needed help outta the landing n the 378 lugged right on out? Is it drier or is yer rig better geared??? Please lemme know. That sure seeme like A nice stretch A road man. That the camera didnt "shake n rattle" on the trailer. Great outfit to keep their haul road up. Keep em comin please. Ya have an avid follower in Cali
The chain dangling from the Binder is a violation here in Riceville/Athens, TN. Just FYI nice vid!

I never imagined the wear and tear you guys put on your tractors, @104bigTruck. Is that your trailer too, or are those the brakes you are riding?
