This one guy at the petstore was trying to take a carpet python out and he was really skiddish and agressive. Are they good beginner snakes or was this a rare occasion?

@dave8594 I think carpet pythons are pretty good for beginners. Irian Jaya carpets don't get that big and they are pretty easy to care for and they are forgiving if you mess up. Carpets can be nippy/cage aggressive when they are young, but they usually grow out of that. If you want a medium size snake, then a Jungle carpet would be a nice addition. Coastals are the largest of the carpet family and get about 8 to 9 feet. Some a little longer and some smaller.

@Feosnake Well hes a full grown 6 year old, and 6 feet long. So I think that answers your question. They get 6 to 7 feet long. But of course males are on the smaller side of that.

Gorgeous Jungle Carpet Python and really nice video !!! Carpet Pythons are totally amazing snakes and VERY addictive. My Coastal male is 10 feet long and is 3 years old and hopefully he will reach 11 feet. :O)
