I remember this liek it was yesterday . I had to give Phil my blui gi after his ripped but thats what a teamate will do great video and better memories tks.
I was training under Phil at that time. The triangle was his signature move. He also liked the triangle arm choke, double leg takedown, and single-leg takedown. He would grab my wrist; when I yanked back to break the grip, he would explode into a single-leg takedown.
I was just reading about Phil, and WHOA, what a badass! The dude has several black belts in multiple martial arts and also is a certified marksmanship expert for the marines!
My boy Rob was on his way to a triangle in the beginning of that match but Phils Gi Ripped.. Phil is good.. but Rob would Def win a Rematch. Rob Just got back From the TUFF tryouts and beat everyone he went with.. So we could be seeing him on the next Ultimate Fighter 9
Maybe y'all should set it up. Phil always up for some good competition.
As for TUF, good luck to Rob. Both Phil and Kamal from our school made it to the final interviews for TUF but didn't have the right kind of "attitude" for what the producers were looking for. Of course, when Kamal tried out, that was for the last season that they didn't have the fighters fitght there way on and they ended up with so many problem children.
gave him a time and a place, and he didn't fucking show, what a pussy, way to represent mother fucker, i knew you were just some dumb ass kid running his fucking mouth on the internet.
phils jits is bad ass, don't run your mouth over the internet,id bet it would be kind of hard to talk when im turning your face black and blue admbjj.
i cant beat him in BJJ, i never said i could, i just told you what most people i know think of him. anyways im not gonna talk shit to you on the computer, how much do you weigh, im constanly competing locally , peace
you need to keep your mouth shut, i'd love to turn your face black and blue, more black though :-), little kids who talk crap over the internet are pathetic and their parents need to be reminded to keep the kiddy gate locked so neanderthals like your self don't get out, why doesn't vandry bjj have any eminent team rankings if any of their students are good, it all comes down to the fight mf.

This is not true application. I've trained Kung Fu for many years and have learned that Jiu Jitsu is trained to fight by certain rules and thus is limited by those rules. As for Kung Fu, the point is simply to kill instantly, without hesitation and gives you a mental aspect to not listen to your consciences. So, if I saw Phil Cardella on the street, I'd kick his ass.... no problem.
You ignorant fool. You have no idea what you say. Hahahaha!!! Like you said, there are certain rules. There is a lot of dirty moves that are not allowed that can be performed in a street fight. I've trained with him. He walks around 175 and cuts down to 155 and he feels heavy. So, do your research before you talk. Or go see a gastrologist to see why shit comes out of your mouth, brains and fingers.
Hmmm...well I understand that you could feel that way in that yes, bjj/grappling as a "sport" does not have strikes, small joint manipulation or weaponry. However, wrestling as a whole is the oldest activity of humans on the planet. Its also the only activity of all creatures in this world as well. So to denounce it as completely useless would be a real detriment to your martial capabilities.
And if you are truly a Kung Fu practitioner, you'd be knowledgeable of shuai jiao (chinese wrestling) and know that the possibility of fighting on the ground in a real life situation is highly likely to take place. Its more than possible, its probable. Meaning: If you're not knowledgeable of ground fighting, then all of the kung fu in the world would not save you against those that do -- period.
I trained with Phil today at the University of Texas Jiujitsu club. The man is a genius. And if you saw Phil on the street, he's so nice that he'll let you get away with this post. But check out his bio. Jiujitsu isn't the only thing he's done. You are funny.
His gi ripped? I just met Phil Cardella today. He did a seminar with my instructor. He's a really good guy. Thought I'd check out youtube to see some vids of his.

Wow. Great move by Phil.

Phil also resembles Andre Arlovski. He looks like a smaller version of Arlovski.

@jbomb28 Having his Gi rip has nothing to do with him not finishing the triangle. He just didn't have it.
The only thing that is clear is Phil tapped him...

Why don't you set up a match with Phil? You're the one calling him a punk, not your instructor. So, the onus is on you to back up your trash talk.

view UFC 1 and 2. You will see why bjj is so grand, and yes there was kung fu master in there, karate, and much more...
Hence why every stand up fighter always learn basics of bjj.

Nice isn't exactly what I'd use to describe Phil the dudes kinda crazy. However always gives me laugh.
