I snickered when Claire landed on that bottom catwalk just over the lava. Listen people. Lava burns at over 2,000 degrees. Being anywhere near it is enough to burn the flesh right off your body. Landing on a METAL grate a few inches (a foot at best from what it looks like) over a pool of lava would have smelted her to the grate instantly, and then set her on fire within a few seconds. I guess it wouldn't be a game if it made logical sense though I suppose.

Uh, no. Leon does not love Claire and vice versa. Capcom cleverly kept romantic entanglement out of the Resident Evil games. Closest thing to it would be Ashley coming on the Leon, which he declined to ask Leon out just to get shot down too at the end of RE4. Also in RE: Degeneration, there's no hint what so ever of Leon and Claire having any romantic feelings what so ever.
