  • wow

  • If she and Lefty Kreh had a baby, that baby would turn into the god of fly casting.

  • what a beautiful kitchen.

  • @Willamforever1958

Are you blind? Do you think maybe the impact is for a reason or the flies she is using are heavy? Speak for yourself. Your cast is horrible if you can cast at all! That's why she is famous and you aren't!

  • Best caster???....but....shes a girl. haha totally kidding ladies!!!

  • Incredible !!

  • Casting 161' is obviously "horrible" - respect for Ms. Wulff!

  • those 8 dislikes are all guys who are mad she can out cast them haha

but srsly stop the dissing she is an amazing fly caster

  • She is really charming, but her casting is horrible! Every cast ends with an impact. As I wrote on another clip: Brown Trouts in the USA must have learned not to be shy. William

  • I just started fly fishing today, got any tips? I find it little difficult but i love the challenges.

  • @Krazkage "challenges" is waaaaaaaaaay worn out ! no no NO.

  • @Krazkage Dont use ur wrist, just arm. and make sure to make those sudden stops everytime you ur hand is done accelerating back and forth

  • Perhaps the worst speller in history!.

  • you can do it, put your back into it

  • netfischer, as your name implies, stick to your casting nets. If you think that you can cast a fly as well as Ms Wulff, in one month, please by all means let us know who you really and where your next demonstrations will be so us novices can come and watch. I may be able to learn something from you 60+ ft casts that you have learned in a little over a month. Basketball is not a complicated game or quantum physics either. Are you a pro-basketball player also?

  • @mrrasczack ofcourse i do...wouldnt make quite much sense to comment on that if i didnt, would it?

  • i'd like to know who let her out of the kitchen!!!!!!!!! who takes a woman fishing anyways??? sheeesh ha ha ha ha

  • Hey_anY_gUys_wàñt_tö_chàt_wíth_mÈ

  • Wow, If I only had 10% of her talent

  • Oh my! I dream of casting like Joan Wulff. Just pure magic!

  • but for the other fishermen; dont let someone unsettle u, just cast the line as it works for u, go out there, enjoy nature catch some fish and most important: have a great time at the water !

  • I dont get the mystification of flyfishing in general or fly casting in particular. Fly casting relies on very simple mechanics and not quantum-theory or something, its not complicated at all. And if something is simple that also implies that it isnt an art neither a science. I believe that nearly anyone is able to learn to do a flycast that catches fish within a day, a decent flycast within a week (precise and 60ft+) and nearly master it within a month. If u want FF to be an art, thats okey

  • @netfischer I don't think you quite get it. Do you fly fish?

  • @MrRasczack i'd have to say... most likely they dont quite get it !

  • Lee was a lucky man.

  • no

  • Mozart was a nice touch

  • dang dang dannnnnnnng!!!

  • WTF??? Seriously!

  • Oh to have been born 60 years earlier. I would have been chasing Joan.

  • She's haxoring...

  • Fuck...I went retard for a minute. I meant 0:36

  • 2:26 Nice stems

  • sorry women fly casting just don't have the refined style that men do hehe

  • @hoodlumers exactly, but pretending that provides a lot of new jobs to fly casting instructors and other people

  • She is great!!!! The video doesn't need this stupid add. Can it be removed? so I share it to decent people. Thanks !!

  • I've taken joan's class before in the catskills. She sure has influenced many people in the sport. She just couldn't believe it when I joined the ASF and attended one of their banquet in Manhattan at the Metropolitan Club. Only thing I didn't like at the time, was the way her school promotes only their style as the correct. Not true in my opinion. Joan's technique is cool but there are many of which all have their finer points. HUGE HISTORY THERE!

  • One of the nicest and most talented ladies I know. This trailer was nicely done. I'm sure the DVD will be quite entertaining.

  • she is a legend indeed!

  • i wanna learn how to fly fish now :D looks like alot of fun

  • people who think the title was misspelled are idiots: 'Herstory' is a both a double entendre and a pun, therefore making it a triple entendre...? I know that youtube comments are a wasteland of human stupidity, but come one people -think before you type.

  • rofl!

  • It's a cryin shame that you cant catch any fish with your line at full flight.

  • history

  • i used her videoss and read her books when i first started fly fishing. i still look at them occasionally she knows her stuff!

  • Herstory? Seriously? So now it's been made a sexist issue. Grow up!

  • you spelled history wrong

  • impressive...

check out my JACK CREVALLE ON FLY ROD vid...

  • Wow! 2:11

  • what she said at 1:48 is probably the best fly fishing quote ever.

  • Joan was and is a wonderful caster, however she is no Steve Rajeff, Tim Rajeff or even Bill Ward. Steve won the world championships at age 16, today he is 52 and never been beat!!!

  • women cast far better than men. PERIOD.

  • so many jokes.....

  • Comment removed

  • guess we know which way you swing huh

  • i often stop fishin and watch people cast when i'm out there

  • Very nice caster and a great classy lady !!

  • I'd totally bang her. She's hot.

  • i'd wanna bang her while she's doing all those fancy casts.....

  • She is GREAT!

  • Hinkraka

Love how you said "Invented" truth be told they studied under some of the best flyfishermen in the world....here another of their "inventions" the riffling hitch..just one of many techniques learned in newfoundland its actual name...The portland hitch named for the river where Lee had his summer cottage not downing them, they relayed many effective techniques thru their books and movies to the world and showed flyfishing for what it truly was,not an elitist sport....cheers

  • i have guided many a fisherman who spoke of their casting class ,even had them that taught that said "keep your body still moving only your forearm, look at these locals they have no technique" LMAO...this lovely lady is clearly demonstrating THIS IS FALSE,here In newfoundland with a fly fishing tradition of hundreds of years you will never see a rigid casting local and half the town fishes before breakfast here where i live..

  • shes kinda small. I watched a vid of her trying to land a 100lbs tarpon. It took her 5 hours to land. The tarpon did not live. She is a legend.

  • Wooo For barra on fly!

  • fantastic, some amazing casts. Those of you who have bagged this video remember the next time you cast with your high modulus graphite rod most of Joans casts are using very old tech fibreglass and cane with low tech line.

  • well said there man...those high tech rods do nothing for your skills...i live where lee Wolff cut his teeth on Atlantic Salmon...The Northern Peninsula Of Newfoundland...MANY of the local fishermen still use only the old fashioned fiberglass rods and cheeper Floatline...I actualy Guide On the rivers Both he and she loved best ...another point ide like to make MANY of the techniques the wolffs promoted were learned here watching local casters.

  • My favorite small stream rod in my 1973-75? Fenwick 7 1/2 6wt , but i use 4 wt on it now . You cab;t beat fiberglass for loading and casting short cast on small streams . I good fly caster can cast anything , bamboo ,fiberglass a 10.00 rod or 700,00 rod .

  • I used to use the heavier rods for salmon but perfer the7/8 weights now salmon. They are just so much more enjoyable to cast.

  • She so elegant, and extremely attractive,

I can not believe how aggressive the comments are on this page. Seems to be a weird kind of jealousy. Anyway Im just getting into fly casting all I can say is that this woman is not only a real pro but a very sexy eloquent gal. I stand in respect.

  • Got to love the caster, got to hate the hairdo!

No I am just kidding. We have to remember that she was one of those inventing most of what we know today. Yes, she works her body lots, but she also cast very long and with grace.

  • What was so exceptional?

  • Obviously never tried casting a sink tip loaded with a fast sinking fly.....with that form, I got one word: BOING!

  • That's called spin casting.

  • Great pick up speed and lay.Now that catchs fish.

  • some fishers are a little stuck-up learn some humility.

I bet they're men, ha ha Ha!

I love her posture though i though it was a little bit weird but I am in no position to criticize because my fly casting in general sucks and man she can cast.

Is she still alive? Is she married?

    hehehe.

  • Nah, I cant rate this, no useful tips whatsoever.

  • w.o.w. very humbling

  • very nice!!....

  • Next!

  • Very nice and a great fly fisher!

  • niesamowite ( great :) )

  • Lee? Which Lee? Bruce Lee?

  • Joan is an asshole. If Lee was alive, he'd keep her inline.

  • GREAT!

  • Beautiful!
