  • This video was nicely edited, well done.

  • This music is oddly creepy. :/

  • My goodness, this man's face is full of thoughtcrime. When I read the book I always imagined his facecrime to be much less than depicted here.

  • any links to the film on here,i love the soundtrack.

  • political correctness is newspeak

  • Excellent, very well done, keep up the good work!

  • Childbearing should be a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license. All potential parents should be required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing.”

David Brower, first Executive Director of the Sierra Club

  • How long will we will we sit here, and do nothing? you did nothing about iraq. or aghanistan. will you sit in silence now, about korea?

  • @marrillion1100 I am still scratching my head over those two. The Afghan ppl do not even know why the US is there. The CIA trained the Taliban. Sadaam was a bastard but take the man out like they did Bin Laden.. Iraq is in worse shape now than before and it will take years before calm overtakes the country. The US sure screwed that one up. No need for a war, ever. Now Iran, I guess I will never stop scratching.

  • This is North Korea 2012. they are going through this right now. This nightmare is happening as we speak.

  • @marrillion1100 Yes it is a nightmare but who is going to stop it, change their minds? There isn't one country I can think of. Can u?

  • i would really love to find the original score of this... the score from the movie that seemed to play every few minutes

  • 3:30

    stalkers

  • Anybody know where I can find the version of this song that was in the actual movie?

  • The rats are cute.

  • book is doubleplusgood

  • This is great, but I wish I could find the soundtrack the way it was used exactly in the movie :(

  • 3 dislikers were deported to the Ministry of Love.

  • @TheGpat1 Doubleplusfag.

  • what is this song

  • This was the scariest movie I have ever seen. The US government and these days the USA police departments are perpetrating such fascist acts.

  • Oh please, our dopy cops could never compare to the ministry of love. What's a ruined tent and some pepper spray compared to getting your face ripped off by hungry rats. Let's have some perspective. The big tragedy was attending this movie as a kid and thinking where are all those cool Eurythmics songs that I heard on the album.

  • "Oldthinkers unbellyfeel Ingsoc."

"People whose thoughts have developed before the revolution cannot understand the principles of English Socialism."

Now, is our world so far from this simplification?

  • Sometimes I feel like the John Hurt character, totally out of step with the "rational thought" offered by our society.

  • I would have a drink with O'Brien.

  • Przejmująca......

  • Damn it... watching this just spoiled the ending :( I'm not done reading it yet!

  • Two people love Big Brother

  • My crime was so bad they had to build Room 102! lol

I supposed "the worst thing in the world" waiting for me in Room 101 would be a You Tube clip that said "adding comments has been disabled". lol

Great clip here and the track "Ministry of Love" is one of my favorites! Thanks!

  • wonderful sound quality for a masterpiece of music

  • Good movie but Netflix sucks with out of USA movies. After watching this clip I realize how horrible and dark the quality is on netflix. Great movie and song though

  • Did you ever wonder why they make televisions so cheap?

  • Double Plus amazing.

  • the sound quality on this is amazing

  • The greatest soundtrack album...that wasn't on the soundtrack.

  • this song is a doubleplusgood song...

  • Hitler would love this movie

  • John Hurt is incredibly sexy in this movie.

  • I love Oceania and I love BB!

Long live BB! Down with Goldstien and Eurasia!

  • @WupeViasco Eastasia, we are at war with Eastasia!

  • @Doctor699

    Oh right!!!! Dont tell BB!

    Doublethink! right..

  • HARCORE SHIT !!! this is not for the proleteria

  • It's terrible because ever since I saw I, Claudius I can't unsee John Hurt as Caligula. "Julia, is that your own hair, or is it a wig?"

  • Thoughtcrime is death. Thoughtcrime does not entail death. Thoughtcrime is death.

  • @Abobojo To understand double think you must engage in double think.

  • Hey hey HEY!.....who disliked this!?. Advance on this person.

  • @Incognito1986 advance, send miniluv, then joycamp. Bugger i need to read the newspeak dictionary again.

  • @Incognito1986 I'll tell you who disliked this. GOLDSTEIN!

  • @Incognito1986 All forces converge on these two thoughtcriminals!

  • Just saw the film adaptation last night. Seemed to stay true to the feeling of the book quite well but there is so much information about how the Oceania government and the world works, Winston's thoughts on life and the party, and his relationship with Julia, all missing or reduced in the film version. Suppose you can't fit so much into a couple of hours though.

  • Kind of cold warish.

  • @asterisktic That was the idea ;)

  • Radford made a criminal mistake in not using this soundtrack, the juxtaposition of modernist electro pop and images of a run-down and war weary Oceania would have gone so perfectly together.

    Great vid, thanks for sharing

  • @juankenon The original release of this film actually did use the Eurythmics' music, albeit sporadically, at the insistence of the movie studio. Most of the score composer's work was dispensed with, except for the Oceania songs like the national anthem and other Party music. Only in the DVD releases was it restored to the original, moody orchestral soundtrack. I've seen both versions and they're both great in their own way.

  • Memories !

  • The man at 0:39...could anyone tell me his name please?

  • @friendlycarrot139 The actor is called Gregor Fisher

  • @neotokio5000 Thank you so much. It was driving me insane.

  • @neotokio5000

    Isn't it John Hurt?

  • @asterisktic Hi there - yep, the main actor in the film is John Hurt, but friendlycarrot was asking about a different actor

  • @friendlycarrot139 It'sRab C Nesbitt.

  • does anyone remember the song in the movie being a little less chopppy?

  • @Debatewithme You are abolutely correct in your memory. This isn't in the movie at all as performed here.

  • Unfortunately humanity decided to go the way of Huxleys Brave New World where people are happy with the fachist system

  • love it awesome

    so different

  • yes i love it when winston got his elbow busted for some reason the long pauses during the sceen mad it hilaruios to me
