"Art is a great means to getting a different perspective in your life"... Sister Wendy is in my opinion the greatest art historian who ever lived. I listen to this interview every day and it helps me overcome my own shortcomings and anxieties. If only everyone were as gentile, understanding and direct as Sister Wendy is; Her Love for Poussin relates to her traditional Romantic side whereas Cezanne points to looking at Life more Truthfully rather than as an illusion. Simply Genious!!

I like the part where she compares life to being in a cage sometimes; I know what she means. It's easy to become enclosed in your own little world, scampering between job and home, spending your time either doing work or watching tv. Then all of a sudden days or weeks have passed, and you haven't actually DONE anything, or had any real thoughts. It really is important to step away from that when you can, and look at the bigger picture and think these kinds of bigger thoughts. Good advice.

Sister Wendy is more than just a simple nun and art expert, she is also a great philosopher, listen to what she says and it can apply to anyone. She merely uses Art as a method in which we better understand ourselves.
